    I love the jewel tones so I love the deeper tone of the Schmincke PB 16. And based on your mixes I see that PB 36 can make a great cyan in a CYM palette! I can't wait to try mixing with that now.

    I can't tell you all how many times I have watched this video. I adore turquoises/aquas/teals. And I love the color mixes that Irit chooses. I can't seem to get what I call the "spectrums" (wide line of paint where color A is on the left and color B is on the right...and the beautiful spectrum of mixes is in the middle) to look like Irit's spectrums. However, I will continue to have fun while practicing!! Happy painting everyone!

    Sennelier Turquoise Green is one I prefer to Daniel Smith Cobalt Teal Blue- its strikes me as lighter & brighter. But its not like ill be disposing of the DS....still a useable color. These color mixes are lovely- I’d not seen this video, and I was playong with similar test colors last night.
    Pretty, pretty stuff 🤩

    I love Helio Turq ❤️ and the Sennelier phthalo turq. (I think the latter was my first "I'm buying a tube" non-gift *absolutely love* turqs. I was just doing Helio Turq + Winsor red for a black and that's an _amazing_ mix. (Black panther... wanted the brown and leopard spots, but it just needed to be a cool black/grey mix. Stains hard though! Qor cobalt teal is right here too, though.

    Thank you once again. You have inspired me to play with the colors in my pallet that I currently have with the paper I already own. I don't know about there but here in the states, pricing on tubes of paint and on paper have shot up. I have some cheaper paper I can use up first to really get to know the supplies I already have. I also have the Lukas cobalt teal, I think it will last forever it is so huge! For watery turquoise/aqua I like Daler-Rowney viridian, very very pretty, I prefer its mix of cerulean (pb36) and pg7 to the more overtly named turquoise shades which are heavily phthalocyanine dependent also mixed with pg7, they are quite harsh and very staining. But the cobalts win every time, even student ones, because the pigment itself is so much truer.

    • @iritlandgraf

    I bought several Roman Smalz (?) watercolor full pans from Jackson's, mostly because i wanted to try the Aquarius green and Przybszy's (?) grey. I included the cobalt teal at the last minute and I'm so glad i did! It's gorgeous, super vibrant and nowhere near as streaky as other cobalt teals. If you haven't tried it, i really recommend that one in particular.

    This year, Daniel Smith released Phthalo Blue Turquoise, which uses the single pigment PB16! I'm wanting to get it to replace the regular Phthalo turquoise convenience mix. From the swatch I've seen online, it looks similar to that Schminke shade you have.

    Turquoise and Teal are my favorite colors 😊
    I have only 3 in my collection but I love all of them.
    - Azure Blue (White Nights)
    - Phthalo Turquoise (Daniel Smith)
    - Cobalt Turquoise (Schmincke)

      I agree, especially if Naples Yellow is in the mix. I love Irit's use for it, especially in her abstract florals. My Naples Yellow gets mostly used in sunkissed clouds since it pushes the blues away beautifully, and also mixes well with red for sunsets.

      I have Daniel Smith's cobalt teal blue, it's lovely indeed, made of PG50 and most brands have such a color in their line up named cobalt teal/turquoise. Not sure if you mean the first color I show on the video, Schmincke's Helio Turquoise- staining non granulating and single pigment (most brands have similar turquoises made with 2 pigments) which is quite different in my opinion in tone and qualities than the cobalt teals...

    Turquoise! 🙌 I started off with W&N's cobalt turquoise. Although it was a bit chaulky, I still liked it. When I saw Schmincke's helio turquoise, I fell in love with the color however when I used it, I found it to be quite staining, more than my preferred taste. Then, I saw DaVinci's cobalt turuoise and cobalt turquoise deep, both PB36 💘💘💘. My ONLY complaint is after 3 weeks of drying in a fixed travel palette, the paints were dry to the touch but underneath they were still moist. Other than that, DaVinci's turquoises are my favorite followed by W&N. Thanks for the video!😊

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  4 года назад +1

      Yup helio turquoise is quite staining and I don't use it a lot nowadays. I'd say it's actually ideal to have juicy paint that is dry on top and thus not messy... I prefer paints that rewet fast!
