Is the Acuity short shifter worth it for a daily??

The fast Answer is yes! a short shifter is great for a daily. it gets rid of all the slack the OEM shifter box has. also adds a better/responsive/connected feel when changing gears. Now that I've driven with the Acuity short shifter for a month. I've gotten use how short the gear changes are, can't imagine having anything els!

Hey, this is Russ from acuity. That play you were pointing out in the longitudinal direction is very possibly a broken/missing rubber bushing in the shift cable itself. The bushing in the OEM RSX cables tend to wear out and come apart over time. If not that, then it may be an adjustment that needs to be torqued. Thanks for reaching out and that's exactly what it was missing. I managed to get an insert that fixed the problem .👍🏽 even made a video on it. love what you guys are doing over at acuity and of course the short shifter!

just binged watch some of your vids lol thanks for your honest opinion on this shifter. I actually enjoy the stock shifter for daily driving. If I get to try one out in the future, I may consider upgrading.

That's crazy! lol Appreciate it and glad the video helped in some way. yeah to be honest a short shifter isn't all that necessary for a daily. I wasn't blown away by It 🤷🏽‍♂️

Great review. Yes, you have to use more force to shift compare to stock. Went back to stock and sold mine due to missing shift a lot when racing but as for slow driving and daily, it’s an okay shifter

Not sure how you adjusted yours. But i set mine where the shaft is at its highest. While throws being at its shortest. On top with a weighted shifter and it feels crisp and effortless while also precise when rowing through gears. Mines also doesn't have that play that you are having.
