- In this video I finally receive and install my CTS Turbo Short shifter. This part is crazy and I am shocked I didn't do this upgrade sooner. I highly recommend this upgrade for any 2000 era vw/audi.

Short Shifter: www.urotuning....
I just installed a diesel geek SS in my 225. World of difference!
After watching your tutorial, it seems that I already a short shifter without my knowledge lol, I have no other TT to compare, so I notice how far your stock shifter move and mine never went that far.
That is an awesome find! It makes a world of a difference when it comes to actually driving the car around. It has been one of my favorite mods I have done.
Not convinced by the wing extension lil buddy. Have you seen the originals with no wing? Now thats nice!
Whats best? Diesel Geek or CTS Turbo short shifter ?
check out diesel geek's ss --- that's the one to have :D
I will totally check that out. I just ordered a ton of bushings from them. :)
@@HunterDirection yes, I also managed to wait until after installing a short shifter to do those, it will help with the slop a good bit. I also did solid shifter bracket bushings but I don't think that made as much difference as the bushing kit.
what air intake pipe did you get? need a new one
I am currently running a Neuspeed intake Box and have a Forge Turbo inlet pipe on the way. :) If you wanted to save some money, the turbo inlet pipes can be found all over on ebay for a bit cheaper. (I think ECS has their own brand of one as well) They all have basically the same construction. Thanks for the support!
@@HunterDirection awesome, hopefully you get a video on that install
@@LilSkrimp69 I will absolutely be making it as soon as I get the part! I wish shipping during the holidays was a bit faster though haha:)
did someone have an 5 speed audi TT with an short shiter? I just cant find anything for this topic!
I did a little bit of research/digging for you and talked to some of my tuning friends. From what it looks like there arent any front to back /side to side short shifters that bolt onto the transmission like the ones I installed on my 225. There is, however, another type I found that should work. Basically you would replace the shift knob and shift lever with a "short throw shifter" (basically shortens the lever that modulates the cables inside the car) this effectively does the same thing as what I did to mine but on the other end of the cables. Hopefully that helps a bit. I'll keep looking into it for you. Parts that fit a mk4 gti should work for this tranny too.
@@HunterDirection yes I thought the same and already got one that would fit but I couldn't finde an Installation guide for my specific car but thanks for the great work keep going bud👍👌
@@maxseikatsu1485 Thanks a ton! I'll let you know if I see any guides that could help.
I don't have this car and I never will do I don't know why I'm watching this.
😢
I cannot for the life of me remove the oem shifter. It's seized on like crazy. I've been hitting it and everything. I already removed everything. This friggin sucks..
Mine was super stuck on there too. I ended up using a pretty wide L shaped crowbar and prying it out. I got the shifter in the locked position first and marked it so I knew the right install position for the short shifter. It's a real pain though.
@HunterDirection that's what I was thinking too. I'm just affraid I'll break something.
@@LowBackPain94 yeah I was quite worried about that too. I think so long as you position it really close to where its attached(so it doesn't bend) and put some penetrating oil in and let it sit for a bit should help alot. I used constant low impact pressure rather than like a mallet lol.
What’s the technique that you use to audit from N to 1? I have the same car and it takes me 20 seconds almost to complete this
