  • Finally got the tires and wheels mounted up.
    Continental MPT81s 330/80-20 (40.5") on Buckstop 20x11 Super Singles.
These are the "Next Generation" Continental MPT81s. What's funny is that not even Continental seems to know exactly that the difference is between the old tried and true and these ones.
Had some issues trying to get the TPMS sensors to talk with the truck for a relearn, and i am guessing its because the truck is looking for 2 more wheels. More on that in a future episode when i figure out. Or when someone smarter than me figures it out.
Also clearanced the fenders, with a cutoff wheel and sawzall to clear the tires lock to lock and did a test drive and a walk around.
Parkhouse Tire in San Diego has by far some of the best customer service i've experienced in a long time! Not sponsored, i paid full price, just one VERY happy customer!
    Check out their website: www.parkhousetire.com/
They are mounted on Super Single Buckstop 20x11 steel wheels. They are interchangeable/reversible front to rear. Making rotations a lot easier.

That's a good turn radius! Our MB has a 122" wheelbase...shorter than our Van...turn radius is critical in the wild for big trucks and is often overlooked.

  • @ericl5973

The MPT81 are pretty sweat tires, too bad they are only rated for 68MPH. 37 inch version would be nice on my truck but 75-80 MPH speed limits in Texas steer me away from the K speed rating of those tires.
I wish I could get a wide steer axle for my old 3500. My turning radius is awful with 180 inch wheel base.

    • @RAM5500CAMPERTHING

I’m actually pretty much hating them and looking other options for my next set. I figured they’d be loud and such but they’re just obnoxious. Please do more research man. Everyone talks about “only rated to 68mph” that’s basically #fakenews. They are rated to 68mph under FULL LOAD. Very few folks are at full load on them

I called buckstops today and they don't offer F350 wheels(they say they will have in a year or so). Seems like 1stattack.com do offer 1 ton wheels. I am still thinking about converting 1 ton truck because ford change the rear axel to M300 which is the same as in F550. With airbag, F350 should handle GVWR a bit more than 14000lb?
