I forgot how good Burst Limit looked. Especially for it's time. It still holds up to today.

@@freyzerb.castro9124 Whoops, my bad, FighterZ certainly does. For some reason the faces and the expressions in Kakarot seem to bother me, and the harsh lines as well. Burst Limit and FighterZ to me look like the have more subtle details :-)
Blaxun lets not forget the game mechanics aka Cancel Style was broken in the game I guess that’s another reason they went a different route but the cancel combos did look nice even tho they were op :)

@@ginogatash4030 is because for exemple: fighterz need of a short special animation. Because he dont have the dragon ball history mode,he have the own history mode so to made dragon ball history we have the "short special animation & Dramatic finish."

Kakarot and Burst limit preserve the dramatic nature of the transformation perfectly and I love them for it.
Kakarot looks lazily rushed. Very ambitious game, poor execution tbh

@@hortinus your not far off, the fighting in the game looks great but all the enemies do nothing but spam beam attacks over and over and over, plus a lot of bugs in the game right now, tho the cutscenes lile this one were pretty great compared to other dragon ball games. Game has a lot of potential if they fix it so we will see

The VA for Goku in the first DBZ Budokai absolutely nailed how angry/emotional/terrifying Goku is supposed to be during his Super Sayain transformation.
The music too just hits so fckin hard. And then that last “it’s over!” Gives me chills every time

FighterZ had great animation, voice acting, sound effect choices to fit the theme, camera angles, etc. But my one complaint is they have no battle damage. Goku looks like he had a bath and got his gi sewn and sent to the cleaners before the cutscene happened.

Yup, commented on a vid before lol that they've been milking the Z storyline all the way from Legacy of Goku 1-3. Change platforms, update mechanics, add things here and there, that's it lol make alot of money with minimal work needed, its just modifying the same material.

I'm honestly just shocked how many times the actors have voiced these stories and never really shown to be tired of it until Kakarot happened.
Burst Limit, Raging Blast and Kakarot were the best, the other had to many thing I wanted to nitpick.

I still think the first Budokai and Burst Limit had the most heart in their cutscenes. Well-animated, great camera angles, and Kenji Yamamoto's awesome music makes them still hold up. I just got through the Namek saga in Kakarot and I honestly don't think the SSJ transformation was as good this time around. It felt underwhelming. Probably because I've seen it too many times.
I think it’s because it wasn’t drawn out as much as in the anime. But it kinda makes sense cuz I think they were going more off the manga.
I think its more because of Sean not really putting in much effort this time too. You hear the intensity in Burst Limit and Budokai.

Budokai and burst limits had some really good moments, but I dunno, kakarot just hits it home, especially with the original score from the anime
I thought Raging Blast did a decent job. The transformation itself wasn’t drawn out to much but wasn’t just, anti climatic like Infinite World.

Budokai 1 was way ahead of its time. The style of animation was done so well and it holds up pretty well even 20+ years later.
Budokai "It's Over Frieza!!!" is one of my fav version, you really feel it with the animation.
That music for Budokai 1. So perfect.
Still the best soundtrack to me aside from Tenkaichi 1, they had alot of the same tracks but they added some as well

Budokai had one of the best ways to tell the story. And the way Goku yelled "its over frieeeezaaa!" Is still my favorite version. His delivery in Budokai on that line is amazing and Burst Limit is right behind it

Edit: I'm just gonna say it's not even the animation style. It's the details and events they left out. They didn't even try to give them damage. Goku's wearing his gi which looks brand new, Krillin's wearing his gi, also brand new, and Gohan and Piccolo aren't even there. Before killing Krillin, Frieza kills Piccolo. But I guess that's a minor event. They didn't even include the correct battleground, forgot frieza almost literally died from the spirit bomb, Krillin showed no fear like a man and Frieza looks like he's having a... *blast*

Budokai had the best scene hands down. Even with it being on PS2 it aged amazingly. Still looks good today and better than all the others that were made far afterwords.

Dbz kakarot is a great game but it didn't live up to my expectations. Plus they cut iconic scenes like over 9000, and King Kai begging Goku not to let frieza go full power, and Goku flying down snakeway to get to the saiyans.

Kakarot definitely went above and beyond in regards to replicating the soul of the Dragon Ball anime. The OG theme music, the camera work, everything

1:40 This part specifically, really set the bar in my eyes for other games to come.
Budokai 1 was such a good introduction to many fans.
The fight afterwards however, god that was difficult.
I remember coming off the high of that cutscene and then immediately getting knocked down by Frieza and losing my SS form. Really takes the wind out of the sails of the encounter, but at least makes it satisfying when you do eventually win.
SS form drained Goku's ki *way* too fast. Granted, the gameplay is so lacking in depth that it hardly matters. Transforming was more useful in just allowing you brief, instantaneous invincibility to ignore projectiles and such for a time, rather than the intended reason of having buffed damaged values.

Oh yeah, forgot it did that, too! Yeah, it kind of simulates Dragon Ball in a strange way by making it so a transformation can easily overpower enemies. Though it was kind of silly that kamehamehas and such needed to be at the end of combos rather than allowing the player to do them raw.
Still a helluva fun time, though.

Honestly. Budokai 1's version still looks the best to me. In-terms of how the scene was handled.
The way Goku reacts to kuririn all the way to how Goku's hair begins to go spikey glowing hair. The transition to Goku starring at the screen/Freeza was done exceptionally well.
And his: "OWARI DA FURIZA" scene was freaking convincing as heck.
A DB Game with modernized budokai 1 character models with better visual effects and as good or if possible, better execution than budokai 1 would be a match made in heaven.

HerculezGaming yeah I watched z first too. Then I took some time a while ago to watch it all from the beginning from DB to Kai to Super. I watched Kai cuz I had already seen the entirety of Z before. And I came to recognize that voice as kid Goku, got accustomed to Gohans and Bulmas new voices too. It always threw me off tho when it’d flash back to DB and kid Goku had Gohans new voice.
In my country the voice for Kid Gohan was so iconic and the VA adjusting the tone for the Teen version was perfect in my opinion.
