magneton has invaded my house. it's broken all my electronics, including the phone i so desperately need to dial 911 in such a precarious situation. every time i try swatting at it to get out, it just quad protects my punches. its held charcoal is burning down the living room as i speak. my dog yelped "this is insane" before succumbing to the flames. im gonna be homeless, folks
I think in ADV, the chance to hit a protect thirds every time it succeeds. So it was 1/1 -> 1/3 -> 1/9 -> 1/27 -> failed 1/81. But don't quote me on that
Even though I am a BKC fan, the swagger of a regular avi man called triangles should not be underestimated. If he wins this match I will submit myself to 5 artsy films. If he loses, I will ladder Gen 5 OU for two hours.
A BKC video have invaded my youtube notification. I saw a new video posted and opened it to hear BKC narrating a BW OU video. I tried to turn it off, but could not do it before he started talking in Ryan Gosling. I cried, "This is Insane!" before the toilet break
The year is 20BB. It was long discovered that the paradox pokemon of Butterfree and Beedrill "Flutter Wings" and "Iron Drills" were in the pokemon emerald source code all a long ever since it's first release in September 16, 2004. Both of which can be received after completing the pokedex and traveling to the "Viridian island" which is said to be the birth place of all bug type pokemon past and future. Some say It acted as gateway to another dimension though this isn't confirmed. From this point on every ADV OU match now consists of nothing but bug type pokemon thanks to the buggy terrain set up by the pokemon Flutter Wings and buggy terrain boosted "Make it spin" by the pokemon Iron Drills. "This is insane" said all ADV OU gamers. Any resemblance of what used to be the ADV OU metagame decades past as ceast to exist now thanks to every tier consisting of bugs. This event would go down in history as the Buggification incident and it will inevitably come when you least expect it.
Beedrill's new paradox form benefitted greatly from its new steel/ghost typing, and its new signature move, "make it spin", a 120 base power steel type move allows it to deal large amounts of damage.
Just started some gen 3 OU for the first time using the knowledge from this channel. I made a bad HO meme team that does check some powerful threats and maybe could win against a good team by virtue of surprise (if played by a good experienced player) but is hilariously good fun in low ladder where everyone is using weird garbage. Mostly I explode because I've never had the good grace of old gen explosion mechanics and they are tasty. Use the boomers to check threats for Gengar and Exeggutor and hope they can clean off the rest. Surprisingly had like 8 wins 6 losses for the last bit I've been playing (again this is low ladder, I got up to like 1142 ELO. Very much expected to lose more. Thanks Jimothy and crew for inspiring me to be stupid in a different tier hahahaha Forretress @ Choice Band Ability: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD Adamant Nature - Explosion - Double-Edge - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Bug] Snorlax @ Choice Band Ability: Immunity EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD Adamant Nature - Self-Destruct - Double-Edge - Focus Punch - Shadow Ball Gengar @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Psychic - Thunderbolt - Ice Punch - Fire Punch Claydol @ Choice Band Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe Adamant Nature - Hidden Power [Bug] - Explosion - Rapid Spin - Earthquake Exeggutor @ Lum Berry Ability: Chlorophyll EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Rash Nature IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe - Sunny Day - Psychic - Solar Beam - Hidden Power [Fire] Regirock @ Choice Band Ability: Clear Body EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD Adamant Nature - Superpower - Explosion - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Rock]
Man, as much as I want to get back into competitive Pokemon at times, it's games like these that make it hard to go through with. The fact that there is so much RNG going on in each turn just make it hard to take serious again. Always fun to watch though. :)
It doesn't help that Smogon rather foolishly, for such an RNG-heavy game, sets 2 out of 3 as the standard, rather than 3 out of 5, which would help level out the influence of luck on a competitor's performance. The likelihood of BKC getting screwed over by luck a third or fourth time, was low.
a max hp/attack adamant (or some variant of this spread/nature) tyranitar holding leftovers without dragon dance (usually rock slide earthquake focus punch hp bug, can fit twave maybe)
It always nice to see BKC lose 2-0 in ADV. I remember how biased he was against Baton Pass and thanks to him and others it got nerfed badly in gen 4 OU. He tried it too in ADV, but I'm glad this didn't succeed because we've seen in Jabba's match how cool it was to see Celebi Baton Pass Swords Dance boosts to Scizor and win the game.

ADV Revival Bracket - challonge.com/ml9b9me0
Fun fact: the initials 'BKC' stand for 'This Is Insane'
I thought so

This is the best one yet
This is insane and one of the most well designed pokemon memes of gen 8
PIN THIS ASAP
a bkc match should never be on “fast”, I’m expecting minutes of exposition every turn.
very true.
Oh we’re getting that video at 2:37 am.
Don't worry, there won't be any sped up BKC games for the rest of the tourney
Need bathroom breaks in the middle of commentary as well
It's not bkc content unless there's a pause every turn with a 10 minute tangent entirely unrelated to pokemon
Glad to see people experimenting with an RU mon like Tyranitar in ADV OU this is insane.
Ttar is OU in adv and a top 5 at that so what experimenting do you mean?
@@Imitationistits a reference to gen 9. Ttar dropped to RU at one point because of power creep
Charcoal Magneton getting off a Toxic and then 4 Protects in a row to successfully trade with Dugtrio. This, truly, is insane.
I always thought you had a 0% chance to hit protect after 3 in a row. Did I make this up or is this a later gen change ?
I think in ADV, the chance to hit a protect thirds every time it succeeds. So it was 1/1 -> 1/3 -> 1/9 -> 1/27 -> failed 1/81. But don't quote me on that
@@pbToast03pretty sure it halfs, so slightly better odds.
@@beam5655 Just checked. You're right. Caps at 1/8 too

triangles and kevin crocune go way back too
Content warning:
Do not watch from 7:41 to 8:11 if you are sensitive to insanity. This might be too much for some folks.
Before watching, are we getting the rock slide mence edit copied from bkc? God i hope so
Ok nvm that WAS insane. I'm not disappointed
Was warned, was not prepared
Magneton: "We have Destiny Bond at home"
Dugtrio realized it wasn't built for that kind of bullshit.
Quad protect was a real brother moment
Blazing Kicking Chicken. This is insane.
BKC with less than an hour on the video? Unthinkable
A BKC video have invaded my youtube notification. I saw a new video posted and opened it to hear BKC narrating a BW OU video. I tried to turn it off, but could not do it before he started talking in Ryan Gosling. I cried, "This is Insane!" before the toilet break
Getting a quadruple protect and still losing is bitter
Imagine not getting a win when you get quadruple protect in a game.
Quad Protect? This is Insane.
magneton not being the thumbnail is insane lol

centiscorch is the premier pokemon with access to at least a neutrally effective move against all bugs and a quad resistance to Make It Spin.
buggy terrain 💀
An almost entirely new type of terrain that was previously found only on the eastern shore of Cinnabar Island.
BKC could've brought it back if he had a bathrook break.
Jim we missed you, glad to hear you commentating
same
Charcoal Magneton. This is insane.
absolute goob nut
triple protect 1 v 1 magneton toxic stall is now tourney optimal way to beat Dugtrio, stay innovating BKCgods
that was 180 turns of battling folks
I expected to see BKC's top 128 match. It was a really close back and forth that came down to a series of 50-50s
BKC used up all his luck on that quad protect
7:48 more plot armor than Ryan Gosling in Gray Man
We're gaming folks and this is such an exciting matchup in Top 64, BKC vs triangles.

This after BKC just got through making a video on bad matchups 😂
i didn't see any of that
Why do celebis use hp grass instead of giga drain?
Giga Drain have 8 PP in gen 3. Thats probably why
More PP, more BP, and I guess you have access to healing through Recover. You see both, but some prefer it
Mainly for the extra PP. Celebis will use giga drain on sets that want grass-fire coverage, as they need to fit hp fire.
Great commentary from Jimbo here. None of these meme and judgment. Just pure sanity. I felt like I was BKC getting owned by a 3 sided shape.
This is insane.
Always fun seeing the underdog win
BKC's Magneton is my fucking hero
Feel like a lot of the sets so far have a very strong correlation with hax going your way and winning
Magneton you are a god among men.
the only thing that would've made this better is if BKC lost to a snorlax team

We have gotten to the skill level for a single unlucky burn can decide games, folks.
The 20XX story was so insane
BKC is epic.
I gotta stop checking the remaining time after the first round and spoil myself to who wins
THIS!!! 😂
BKC's quadruple protect used up all the his luck. That's why he got all the unlucky burns and freezes.

What is BKC tyranitar? Newer to the format
Bulky Tyranitar with 4 attacks
that's insane
This game was what people think gen 2 is like lol
What is a bkc tyranitar?
a max hp/attack adamant (or some variant of this spread/nature) tyranitar holding leftovers without dragon dance (usually rock slide earthquake focus punch hp bug, can fit twave maybe)
Was this the first sandless game?
No, there's been quite a few
quadruple protect is possible?!?
the triple is 9% and after that I thought it would be a programmed miss. After the math it should be 3%.
Consecutive Protect success rate is multiplied by 1/2 until Gen 5 rather than 1/3. Still very fortunate.
What is bkctar ?

How long did that second game take IRL?
watch mcmegan's 500 turn spl game
He was less like Ryan Gosling and more like Ryan Reynolds in these games
Unfortunate games for bkc, the paras and burns were so devastating
Unfortunate doesnt begin to describe his series; heres why
"Unfortunate" does not even
bkc played out of his mind game 2
Bkc goat
how do people enjoy playing stall
because they want to win
i'm dont honestly understand why people agreed that this gen meta is good. too many defensive mons and progress seems to taking forever.
Ttar makes this gen good. A sandless game goes on forever sometimes

what was the song at the end of the match, before the runescape.music?
