Hearing your cover makes me wish the lead guitar part during the chorus were twice louder in the mix.

My response was straightforward. The guitars differ quite noticeably in lead and rhythm. Which means neither of the two covers has an identical basis. Hence, there is nothing to compare.

This sounds absolutely nothing like early Trivium. This doesnt hold a candle to shogun or ember to inferno. This is just generic metalcore heard a million times before

In case you want anymore to learn, their albums Ascendancy, In Waves, Vengeance Falls, and Ember To Inferno were all done on 6 strings, and there's been certain songs on 6s on every album. I ended up getting a 7 string a few years ago because of Trivium, but there are definitely quite a few awesome 6 string songs. Happy jamming!

Me too, Drop C# is very fun. I prefer standard tunings personally, cause I've learned scales and chords that way, but chugging in this tuning is very satisfying 👌
