- A look at my 1964 McLaren M6GT-R project. Manta Montage. Manta Mirage
I am building it to be a replica of a McLaren M6GT and Cody Coyote from the 80s TV show Hardcastle and McCormick.
I have embedded some clips from other Mclaren M6GT RUclips videos, purely for reference purposes. I do not own those videos. Here are a few lines of credit.

Looking good my friend!
Looks pretty cool but I probably would have ditched the VW front suspension and upgraded to Miata. It's just a better, more modern platform with lots of aftermarket parts that are proven to work in high power V8 swapped cars.
So you’re saying upgrade the front suspension to a Miata? I might still do that. I wish I had put a Miata or another engine and drivetrain in sometimes.
@@MyHumveeMathilda The Audi drive line wasn't a bad choice. It will deliver fairly good performance for how you plan to use this car. I do agree a Miata front end will be a vast improvement over the VW set up. If you decide you need more power, I'd look to a GM 3.8L V6 first for an engine transplant. It would most likely fit in your engine bay without modification, it is powerful in stock form if you source one from a Pontiac and takes to modifications really well. This is one of my favorite kit cars, been in love with it since I saw one at a Detroit car show in the late 1970's. To be accurate, the McLaren M6GT is a 1969 model. Unless you have documentation to the contrary, I believe only 2 were ever produced. The GT was intended only to be Bruce's personal car. While he was alive, there were no plans to make a production run of this car. McLaren at that time, had never produced a road car, only race cars.
@cdjhyoung thanks for the corrections. Yes I love this thing. It’s a lot of work but I hope to have it finished this year.
