14 years ago, I remember the day I watched this video. Now, my kids can understand English and I can recommend it to my kids as well. The wisdom here is simple, but important. I hope they will use it to make their life more balanced and sensible.

its not about money, what is it about is time. How many hours do we have tow work to have the basics here in the west. I agree with the relativity of your statement, but true wealth is about owning your own time.

I grew up with a garden, and I remember having fresh vegetables daily. We grew everything imaginable. We had beefsteak tomatoes, the juicy ones. we grew corn, peas, green onions, baby carrots, beets, beans, you name it. I still remember the smells from these vegetables. apples smelt like apples. carrots were sweet. and even potatoes we ate raw. Those were the good old days.Today kids are raised with fast food. how many of them know how to plant a row of peas? we need to bring this all back.

just 10 years ago we were able to afford one PC for the family but nowadays we all have our own laptops as well as a PC for the household! must appreciate that!!
Good Points, especially that many of us are already wealthy. One point I didn't hear him mention: Each of us has Unlimited Potential, and when we tap into it (when we're not blocked by 'Limiting Beliefs' we've picked up) we naturally create wonderful lives. And this is not something for the few; it's inherent and possible for EVERYONE. ~ If you're not feeling great about yourself or what's possible, you're being stopped by unnecessary 'Limiting Beliefs' you've picked up.
So we supposed to compare how people lived generations ago to feel rich

I would rather be living in 1850 than now. They had it much better. You grew your own food and chopped firewood. Life was simple. No computers, no shit ass jobs, no screwed up neighbors, no stress. no peak oil. They had it made.
True wealth is when you financially stable enough to not have to work and still have money to sustain you for at least 10 years.

The best saying on this: "you don't need it and you never did" - most people over a certain age if they have done any type of spiritual work will tell you this. The simple life is absolutely wonderful. You must have courage and imagination to pursue it instead of buying into what our culture tells you. I did work very hard for a long time - so this life was not "free". Better to work really hard when you are young and have health and energy - and lower your expectations about what "being rich" means. Envy gets you no where - it's a trap and it never stops.

It's better to be content with what you have instead of always being miserable because you want more. I loved this perspective on wealth. Thanks, it made me smile. I thank God everyday for my apartment, my food, and my family's health. If you were to ask my mom how I'm doing, she's probably say I don't have much, but I'm truly happy and feel like I have a lot! Agreed!. Most people think they are worth what's on their bank account, the more money you have the more you're worth as a person, and that's complete bullsh*t. It depends what your priorities are and what you consider it's truly important.
I totally see where he coming from you have to have the right perspective in order to change. You must appreciate the blessings you do have and work with them in order to fulfill your goal of getting more of what you want. It starts with what you have already.Being Grateful and growing from there.

tbh, it's easy for you to say people stay in jobs they aren't particularly happy with due to money when YOU have a good living. but you know what? when people have a family to feed, money comes in priority. and same for many other things like mortgage, food, clothing.

i always say people don't like money. people tend to hold on to things that they like, yet most people live paycheck to paycheck. if they really like money, they would hold on to it, and save it.

You have some very good points there.
I usually do not comment on videos, but you are right on. People have to stop focusing on what they don't have and start focusing on what they do have. Each person has a CHOICE to not take part in the "game." Life is what you make it and once people realize no exteral object can ever completely fufill them, they will start to understand who they truly are.

I like your perspective of wealth. We are indeed much lucky and rich to be born in today's era. But I would also want to accomplish my dreams and desires and thus they demand firsthand to become financially independent and so the reason why I want more. I don't want more money for money. I need more money for my dreams.

Finally someone who actually understands how fortunate we already are. Here in the US we live like KINGS eat so much we are overweight. I esp love the people who commute 2 hrs a day to go to jobs they despise. So they can live paycheck to paycheck to keep up with the Jonses. Stress themselves out so they can hand the Gov't a 1/3 to 1/2 of their income. Worry daily instead of realizing everything always works out. Crying over Yesterday, they ruin Today worrying about Tomorrow. Namaste...

Who does he think he's kidding? This country's society judges everyone by how much money they have! If I mentally thought I was rich instead of actually having huge amounts of money in my banking account, I'd need to be fitted for a straitjacket. Let's face it, money talks and no amount of thinking rich is ever going to replace cold hard cash!

My point is simply this. I work 40 hours a week and I dont drive a reliable safe car, I dont have the money to fix my plumbing, I've never been able to leave my state, and I've got holes to the ridiculous in all of my clothing, and I guess my delusions have gotten to the point where I feel poor for having to eat Ramen Noodles for every meal. So I need to quit being so selfish
