I agree with having goals down on paper. I also suggest to look at your goals freqently daily. Also it's important to visualize in your mind as if your goals are already achieved, with lots of enthusiasm. Because that helps to put it into the subconscious mind faster. No! You can be excited when you get paid, and you can be excited when you get money but you'll never be successful until nobody has to give you a dime to do what you do. You gotta be willing to work for free if you have to (but don't do it often if at allbecause money is still important for food and cloths and such) and if you can't do that then you need to find a new career! Something more fulfilling to YOU!
