      Rubbish. The system is setup in such way that it benefits those in power mostly. This was ALWAYS the case... it was the case in ancient Greece, in Roman times, in Monarchies, in Feudalism and it is still the case with Capitalism. Today the capitalism as a system is most extreme in this. It is simply not possible for everyone, or even a majority, to become rich. Being rich is not amount of money one has (if everyone had million dollars, or any other form of money/value, everyone would be equal which would mean no one would be rich or poor, simply having million of dollars would be a norm. It is the ratio of the money you have compared to amount of money the people with highest amount of money have that categories one where on this scale of wealth he or she is. The capitalism system is setup to "take care of" profits for the owner(s) first and ALWAYS profits first. In this system it is NOT POSSIBLE for the workers to be rich... and anyone that is not having a job to have any normal kind of live... period.

      Ed what if someone said to you think about what you love to do what you could see your self doing forever and helping others while doing it. Think about what you could do today to make that dream a possibility. I started with a small idea which is now my dream an I have come from a humble background. Start a small service based business trading your time for an income but it needs to be something you love to do not about the money. Now I will offer you this like my father offered it to me take a look at Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill (Make sure to get the original 1937?? version google it because there are corrupt versions out there) and I think you may just start to think differently about what Mr Tracy is trying to say here. It is truly our mind that stops us from pursuing our goals our confidence in our own abilities that let us down and the way in which we view money that are the biggest factors. This has been instilled in us through our schooling systems unfortunately. This however does not mean education is not important it means we should use it to our advantage and not let the first thing we hear or see be the end of it and you seem like the type of person who would do this. Anyhow start with the above mentioned book sending peace and good vibes your way :)

    He forgot the most important reason of all...the ability to make sacrifices to achieve
    your long term goals... I was made fun of for months by friends and former fellow workmates while I lived in my 1979 Ford pickup truck that had so little available room to sleep in , that my head was less than 2 inches from the roof of the camper shell as I laid down to sleep each night, and it was either freezing cold or sweltering hot for the 6 months that I stayed in that truck to save money to start my own business. After 20 years of success , i laugh about the experience , and am proud to say that I was able to make over 2 million dollars in profits by saving the $3,000 dollars in rent costs I would have had to spent 21 years ago, to help finance my business start up. Not a bad return on my investment.

      +jawn1977jaws I don't want to say you were lucky, but you were definitely in the right spot at the right time to know that you wanted to start a business and you knew what type of business you wanted to start.
      I'd like to go into business for myself, logically I see its how to get ahead in life.. You have more maneuverability as far as resource management goes, time and money in your life, as opposed to working for someone else for a pay check. Plus you have tax write offs, at least in the US if your a business as opposed to working for someone else. Income taxes are killing me...

    I don't think most people realize what he means when says "you have to decide to become wealthy". When you decide, you cut off any other possible outcomes in your life, and commit yourself 110% to becoming wealthy - doesn't matter if it will take a year, ten years or twenty - if you go there one step at a time and refuse to quit, you'll eventually get there.

    Procrastination was my Achilles heel for years. It was a nasty behavioral trait that I just could not shake for many years. Eventually, I received so many bumps and bruises from it, I finally said enough! And broke that terrible chain. My life started to change rather quickly after that, and improved ten fold. I'm still not where I want to be, but I've covered so much ground and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

    • @TorbenRudgaard
      @TorbenRudgaard 9 лет назад

      Lynx Star Automotive That has always been my greatest enemy. Having the discipline to move your ass, do what you KNOW that you have to do, especially when you absolutely DO NOT want to.... thats probably the biggest reason that I am so rich today. But going to the gym to work out... The Procrastinator still wins too often :-)

    • @LynxStarAuto
      @LynxStarAuto 9 лет назад +5

      Torben Rudgaard What I can tell you is to surround yourself with ppl who have achieved the goals you seek, or ppl who were once in your predicament, and broke out of it. That was the biggest move I made. I started to attend small business meet ups and seminars in my area. Networked with ppl who had what I wanted, or were once like me, and had taken the leap. Once I started to see what they did, and what they know, it was enough motivation for me to jump ahead and take the leap.
      The funny thing is, the hardest part is taking the plunge. Once you do, everything else starts to fall into place, and becomes very obvious and straight forward. The other funny thing is, I met so many ppl that had achieved what I wanted, and when I got to meet them on a personal level, I realized there was not much too them, or that they were not really all that special or unique. They just simply put, had more courage than I did at the time.

      i was a slave to procastination too, until i finally took action and invested my little money i had in a small Franchise business..i wish i stayed a procastinator! i've been on the verge of bankrupcy for months, and now after almost 4 years of worries and struggles, i'm still not out of the woods yet. and i did try pretty hard to make it work..so the message here is, it's ok to bragg when things go well, but for many people who also took steps to change their life for the better, they ended up for the worse.. I don't know if luck is a factor, or maybe it's just that some people have got the gift of making money, but the guy in this video makes just too simplistic assumptions to why people don't become wealthy.

    • @LynxStarAuto
      @LynxStarAuto 9 лет назад +4

      +Sergio Dario there is no such thing as luck when it comes to money. It's all discipline and dedication. Why do you accept failure? Do you think every wealthy person hit a home run at their first at-bat? Most fail, several times before they get it right. Most start ups fail within the first 18 months. This is because running a business is its own animal. It is difficult and has a learning curve, but it's not impossible. The very industry that has opened so many doors for me, was my failure point (twice) in my life. It was part of my procrastination, fear of failure. That I would never get it right. But eventually I said well so what if I fail? I can get back up, I have done it already twice before. So I studied the why of my failures, and made sure to not repeat them again. Armed myself with new knowledge, and so far so good. 3 times was the charm for me. It might be two for someone else, or 30. The point is to live and learn, and love what you do.

    • @abdulmajeedalyazidi2028

      +Sergio Dario In this life , all people can't be rich or poor. There should be a balance in this life. To be wealthy that is something depends on many factors. I know many people who they are making a lot of money while they are in reality not that smart! ...

    There are only 3 things which are necessary in order to attain financial wealth:
    1. Have no liabilities.
    2. Own assets which produce income (ie. save).
    3. Minimise outgoings.
    Good luck.

  • @biologygis987
    @biologygis987 10 лет назад +18

    The comments to these videos always piss me off, because there is inevitably a long list of comments with people saying you need to be born rich, or you need to be lucky, or something else like that.
    Folks, if you keep telling yourself that, then you won't be rich. Period. Just take 5 freaking minutes and reconsider what you have been told your whole life about becoming rich. I mean actually stop what you are doing and tell yourself out loud that you are wrong about money. I did this a few years back, and I remember that moment vividly. I haven't thought the same way about money since then.
    Most of us grow up learning financial skills from parents who aren't rich. The key is to challenge what you have always believed and go back to the basics. I mean the very basics, such as your understanding of the very concept of money.
    Money is a way to exchange value. That is all. The reason someone pays you to work for them is because you are creating value for them. In other words, they are making more from your work than they are actually paying you to perform said work. If you can cut out the middle man and provide that value yourself, you will make money. It is really this simple.
    Tell yourself you can do it, then figure out how.

      I started business 3 years ago and yes: Having no role models and procrastination are one of the worst enemies. Get to a community of entrepreneurs or like-minded people and make plans, tools like daily To-Do and GTD are great. Sometimes it takes years to grow a solid business (and there are dead ends too), but it certainly pays off!

      If you start young you will get more and more if it your money grows with intrest upon intrest.
      Thats how warren buffet did it.
      Third dont go short or long overnight(only with your own money and not with borrowed money or a buy/sell clause from someone else)It will ruin you eventually, especially with peny stock of stocks in lower busssinesses.
      Fourth be patient and keep learning all you can.
      Fithh. Please tell me in 10 years how youve become:)
      6th read your money or your life. It would have saved me 20-30 grand in the last 10 years:( ;)

I started as a flight attendant in a low-cost airlines and I saw those pilots doing nothing and make $10,000+ a month then I moved to Dubai where I saw Ferrari cars every day. Now I moved to Asia and I'm working my bottom off to make it and I know I will make it!

    My dad was and still is terrible with his money, my mum let him deal with all of the finance bad sadly as I learnt recently, she had no idea they were not living sustainably because my dad never told her. I am taking active measures to not get into debt like my dad, I'm 18 and 1/2 and I have got a credit card with direct debit set up to pay in full each month. I have switched current accounts to a 5% one, and when I get to the max interest payable balance then I will open an ISA and then start investing through a local financial advisor who has already given me some free advice.

    You forgot the main 2:
    1. There's a finite amount of resources. The more you own, the less everyone else has so not only is it impossible for everyone to be bourgeois but the bourgeoisie cause everyone else to suffer just by existing. You know all the people starving and homeless? It's because some people are "successful."
    2. "It's just as possible for YOU to become wealthy as it is for everyone else" lmfao. If your dad is some waspy billionaire I think you might have a better chance of getting money. I sit on my ass troubleshooting some guy's iPhone and get paid four times the amount of the people ho actually make the phones and whose working conditions are so bad that they have to make "no suicide" pledges. Are they just not "motivated enough?"
    -This video is basically saying that the whole reason people are impoverished is because it's all their fault which is a lie and a complete slap to the face to every laboror. You're poor because of an outdated economic system that's just a step up from feudalism and has been proved to be a fail and not just by Marx; contemporary economists understand this and they call it "market failure."

    • @SoloSalinas
      @SoloSalinas 9 лет назад +5

      You're an idiot lmao you know nothing about the people who work for pennies making those phones. If you knew anything about them you would know that they pride themselves in working jobs long hours. Trust me. Most of them don't care for being wealthy and even if you are wealthy they'll still ask you do you have a job? If you don't they won't respect you. And no there's plenty of money to go around. There's way more money than there are humans. WAY, more. So yes it is finite but you also have to realize that's it's ALWAYS moving. So even if there is only 100,000,000,000,000 dollars in the world, it's still always moving. The reason you aren't getting a pie of that is because you never developed the skills of learning how to get in front of it. So in essence yes it is your fault. It's pretty simple, solve a problem by making a product or service and then get it in front of as many INTERESTED people as possible. If there aren't enough INTERESTED people then yes you will fail. Doesn't mean you're unlucky. Find a new market, rinse and repeat. Our system isn't "outdated" not yet at least. And it's still evolving but the principles will remain the same in any type of system. If you can't learn how to sell you'll always struggle. That includes a society without money as well. Selling ideas, etc.

    • @TheYiffingAtheist
      @TheYiffingAtheist 9 лет назад

      Solo Salinas Markets follow money so if you have more money you have more control over the market. Getting rich in capitalism is sucking up to rich people, not just "making a product that helps people" because those people need to be able to give you assets in return or you'll go out of business.
      Gold is an incredibly useful metal, but 78% of it is used for jewelry rather than just having fake gold that looks exactly like real gold. This is because people with lots of money are willing to fork it over for the gold, and thus more greatly influence its use.

    • @TheYiffingAtheist

      brwi1 Both parties benefit BECAUSE of the preexisting system that allows for and often promotes class divisions. Basically it's like saying "slaves would not have anywhere to live and would die without slaveowners so it's beneficial for them to be slaves." In my experience most people are simply NOT interested in becoming rich. They say they are, but when it comes to the crunch, they're not prepared to change their ways; they're not willing to do the things they need to do to get rich, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as those things involve a lot of sacrifice usually and people I know who are rich are not generally happier than those who aren't (there you go: I've just made an excuse for myself not to try! - and other people do that all the time).

If it were my world my sucess would be different than someone else and vice versa, it's just society has this view that having wealth is the key to life yes it's helpful in many ways but to me the little things in life bring me happiness and I don't need to be financially wealthy to be considered sucessful.

The Tea Party merely demands that government become less powerful, not more powerful than the Constitution permits.You don't force people to work. Did you miss the memo on the Berlin Wall? Your model collapsed. Health care costs surged with government involvement. Technology enabled better living. Henry Ford gave a 40 hour work week before communist unions came in the scene. The reason people don't become wealthy is because their belief systems (our most commonly thought thoughts) are centered around LACK. 1. I'm not wealthy and it's going to take time and effort to become wealthy (all of which is negative and lacking). 2. Like the poster below, CAPITALISM just doesn't allow for it! How could anyone become wealthy when they think that the entire system is against them? 3. Money is evil, money is only made doing bad things, and the list goes on about money.
    When belief systems are centered around ABUNDANCE, thoughts such as 1. I'm a lot more capable of becoming wealthy than I ever give myself credit for! 2. Their is definitely something I don't know about the CAPITALISM system, and I will find that something and then become more wealthy. 3.When these thoughts are practiced more often, it is much easier to develop GREATER feeling thoughts of ABUNDANCE such as 1. I am totally capable of becoming wealthy. 2. Wealth is mine for the taking. 3. It's only a matter of time before I am wealthier.
    So we think - I want an apple. If we don't have one at home, we get up and we go to the supermarket and buy an apple. This is very simple, but it began with the thought "I want an apple".... Why would it be any different with "I want wealth"? The only sense in which it is different is in that the thought "I want an apple" requires no practice to manifest. But the thought "I want wealth" requires much more practice and patience. Once the thought is put into place, the actions are then taken. Research is done, intuition provides answers and in no time ideas are coming in and money is flowing!

    Being "wealthy" is not based on only becoming financially set for life, but rather a set of different aspects, in some cases a culmination of several aspects. Having said that, people in our society define being wealthy in different ways so the success of others are not always defined but the amount of money they have in the bank.

    The most important reason why most people don't become wealthy is because it is impossible for everyone to be wealthy. Within the world there is finite amounts of resources, it is impossible for everyone to be wealthy when economics means the scarcity of resources on a finite planet. There isn't enough stuff for everyone to have so some people will always take more because it incentives them; only to a point.

    • @markvann1
      @markvann1 10 лет назад

      Hey dan u, if even poor Americans have one thousand times more than Mexicans do, then aren't they already wealthy? Resources ain't squat without SERVICE, and in the USA, service businesses make people rich 10 times more often than manufacturing businesses. All you need is sweat and guts, and a service business will make you rich.

    • @cristiangarcia1260
      @cristiangarcia1260 10 лет назад

      mark vann I think you didn't get exactly what Dan meant. The service business is great because you don't have to buy supplies transform them and sell them for a profit you need a limited investment and put your energy and knowledge into it but you will always have some costs to cover as low as they are and you need clients and the amount of money they have is limited.
      Let's say the total wealth in your town is 1000 and it moves from hand to hand every second by buying and selling. So if I work and make 10, I hire you you make 5, and buy groceries the owner of the store makes 5 (everything is fine) but if i decide to not hire you and save 5 every month and accumulate 100 you make 5 less for 20 months and if i decide to spend those 100 outside of town the town's wealth is reduced and there is less money to go around to buy and sell. So the answer is to make the pot bigger and if it's not getting bigger some have to get less money for some to have more money.
      To answer your question. The median income in the US (USD 52,000) puts you in the top 1% in the world so half of US citizens can consider themselves super rich in a global context. But economics are the same, resources are still limited so if the global wealth (the big pot) is not getting bigger some country has to get poorer for others to get richer.

    • @dancthegr
      @dancthegr 10 лет назад +1

      What I meant is that there is a natural inbuilt scarcity in economics, that if everyone earned the same as the top 1%, it would destroy the economy. If every worker earned $100,000 a year, no one would do hard jobs but things like a humburger would become say $50. The world would be far more expensive due to inflation

    I'm classed as wealthy and come from a classic hard working poor family.
    I know loads of wealthy people and the common denominator is access to money via family in 99% of cases. They could make mistakes and not worry about losing the house (daddy owns it) and live comfortably while studying for Law, Medicine or any of the time honored money tree professions.
    The oddball from outside (me) got lucky. Make no mistake I worked no harder than my dad or umpteen friends from the same streets the hand of fate dealt me one piece of good fortune and I've lived off it ever since.

      It's a bit like that with people too. We certainly have instincts, but what we focus on matters in the outcomes we witness, and in the accumulation of excess at any cost.

      +joe Knight don't try to do things you don't know how to do. you want to do internet marketing or anything, find a coach. I recommend Anik Singal if you want to start an online business. And a man named Peng Joon, if you want to create a digital product like an ebook and sell it online using Clickbank. invest in yourself, and don't trade all your time for money. your greatest asset isnt Real estate, stocks, bonds, etc. it is your time. another suggestion, attend networking events, like high profile charity events, you don't need to donate any money there, but you can network with many successful people there. another tip, keep 10 to 20 percent of your money aside to be used for investments. diversify. and last but not least. buy insurance.

    1 and 2. - So I'm not wealthy because I some how want to be poor....wha?
    3. That's usually not a choice.
    4. I had to watch an ad just to watch this. Fucking turn off the bombarment of crap first.
    5. So what you are saying is keep doing what ALMOST EVERYONE does or attempt every fucking generation?
    This isn't 5 reasons I'm not wealthy. This is just 5 reasons why I should feel bad for not being rich already.

    • @PeterCKell
      @PeterCKell 10 лет назад +1

      1&2. Exactly. Majority of people are unwealthy because they were raised with the same beliefs & habits as the people who are unwealthy. When you "decide" to become successful you decide to stop doing what typical people do and start doing things like learning.
      3. It is 100% a choice.
      4. More money is not a solution to poor financial habits. No matter how much you make, you will end up with zero. (ex. majority of lottery winners go broke)
      5. Its alot more then just saving money for a future kid. It's a principle

      Also believe it or not, those "poor decisions" that we make are not just because we are bad with money. They are made on the basis of survival. You'll make some bad choices just live another day.
      Oh i sure would like to not have heat to save for a down payment on a business. I just wonder if i'll survive below 0 degrees.

      In respect of you point 4. The story of the melon sellers. They took their harvest to market and as sales were slow, decided to undercut everyone else. However. when they go home and did their sums, they found out that they had actually lost money. One turned to the other and said "We need a bigger truck!" Doh! Ouch... But some people really do think like that. If you can turn one cent into two today and two into four the next day and so on, you have understood and will succeed, otherwise any investment is wasted.
      I am giving away free advice - I need to stop now...

      Instead of just making up excuses, how about make some solutions..?
      You have $50.
      Think of ideas within your budget, not out of reality.
      I can think of 3 things that I can produce for $50 that will earn me more than $50 a month.
      You just don't have the correct mentality. Therefore, I'd rather not even bother helping you.

    There really is not one wealthy person that I know that I would want to be friends with. Most wealthy people I have met only care about themselves and their immediate family. They may donate money, but they would never get their hands dirty actually helping someone. For instance, recently there was a stray kitten that made it's way around our subdivision. When I found her, I call all my neighbors to see if it was their's. All of them said that they saw her, but not one of them took her in or fed her. Well, this was the middle of the winter and all my neighbors have big gorgeous homes. They had more than enough room to take her in for a few days, like I did, until they could find her a safe place to be. Moreover, I don't know many wealthy people that are actually happy, that is deep down happy. They are happy with their stuff and when things are going their way, but when push comes to shove, it becomes clear that they are bitter, self-centered, venomous people.

    How are you suposed to double your imcome if you work in construction???

    • @uberbeader
      @uberbeader 10 лет назад +2

      The construction industry is made up of many parts: General Contractor, Contractor, Sub-Contractor make up the umbrella. Stop viewing yourself as a worker and become one of those 3. If you've not owned a company, then start as a sub-contractor. Identify the need: hanging doors & installing cabinetry, painting, framing, drywall, concrete, window/glass installation, restroom partition & accessory installation, etc. Identify a niche market: fast food restaurants, prisons, schools, apartment buildings, malls, department stores, etc. Set up your business, contact the Contractors in your area, bid on projects, if needed get your workers in place, advertise & market yourself within the industry. Hope this helps you get started in thinking about it a bit differently.

    As you grow older time moves faster, when you are young you have more energy, you get more things done and thus time seems to move slower. Master time and don't let it be your master. Epicurus said over 2000 years ago "To make a man rich do not give him money but remove from him desires" ~
