🆘 Creative as always. Nachos were brilliant! Especially for the days I don’t have time to cook. Honestly not sure I could keep them stocked once my husband finds them ! 🤣🤣 Thank you !
And another great one! I really appreciate that you give alternatives to certain things. Gives us options that we don't have to think about! thanks as always and I plan to try all 3 of these. I did make the onion ground beef noodle casserole...we loved it. Take care. 🚨 (couldn't find the sos so I improvised!)
Great shelf stable meal ideas! 🆘 Thanks for sparking an idea for making gluten free pierogi for myself. I can’t seem to get a gluten free homemade dough to stay together when boiling them. I’m going to boil the gluten free lasagna sheets. Then I’ll drain them and sauté them in some melted butter because I like my pierogi sautéed after boiling them. Then I’ll roll them up with my filling of choice so they will mimic an individual pierogi.
It might help not to actually boil the gluten-free pasta if you're going to cook it further. Usually just soaking it in hot water is enough to make it pliable, then you can finish cooking it however and it's less likely to fall apart. It might be worth a try...
I watch a van lifer video, she has one of camping ovens. It sets on top of the stove burner, has a temperature. Dual on front. Works great she's made bread cup cakes, and a dinner in it right on utube.
Great idea it would even be good just for normal meal prep on those days when you are in a rush or don’t know what to make with what you have on hand…..just grab a bag 😊
I have canned ground beef and I think it would be good in that caserole. It looks tasty and it can be changed in different ways to make it different each time you make it. Great video.
For your perogy casserole, I’ve been making it for years and I always mix the cheese right into the potato mixture so it’s a little easier to spread and the flavour goes throughout. Love the idea of doing these kits!!
Such great ideas! I live in south Mississippi and we have to deal with hurricanes and this is the perfect video for preparing for those months of uncertainty. Thanks for the video
For the minestrone soup, I am going to try adding some freeze dried beef. Or maybe the beef crumbles. My husband would think he needs meat in the soup.
My boyfriend thinks he needs meat with every meal. Our budget could be so much cheaper. I try not to let him see me cooking so I can cut the amount of meat in half.
It amazes me what all you find at Dollar Tree!!! Ours has about as much food as a convenience store does….i would starve to death. Love the ideas though and can adapt as needed. Thanks Jara
More great meal ideas for the pantry! I actually got some of that cheese sauce. I was hesitant about getting the quacamole but will definitely get one to try out. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, great ideas! I will definitely try all three. I plan to add a can of diced tomatoes (drained) for the top of the nachos as we do this with tacos when tomatoes are out of season/too expensive.
Aww thank you! If you like this kind of thing I have a whole playlist of these kind of meals! ruclips.net/p/PL-sp4L-Y4c5Bwg58lZIg3mv0lFln8PCQR Check out our meals in a jar playlist too: ruclips.net/p/PL-sp4L-Y4c5Dc1QEaj9oNKrGBH5MetPJd&si=_l5gSmUfs2u5pobi
These meals are great! Testing these out on my Hubby starting tonight. Question. It is so hot here over 100° is it ok to put cans like the cheese dip or , or the foil packs of the cooked nacho meat outside to warm up for a few hours? Crazy question but we were in Yosemite last week and a car had canned food warming on the dash inside the car all day. 😮wonder if they ever heard of bears.
Yeah I have to go to two neighboring towns in order to get Dollar Tree items because my local one is one of the worse I have ever been too. I hate saying that but it really really is.
Have you tried "baking" this on low heat in a Dutch oven over your Coleman burner? I am curious to know if this is an option. I am loving your videos! 😊
Question - how can you have your beef, shrimp & your other foods in clear containers out in the light? I thought they had to be stored in cool areas without lights? I'm new to prepping, so please answer. Thank you!
Hey there 😊 The food in the containers behind me is freeze dried. And you're right, for longterm storage, it's best to keep freeze dried food in a dark area. However, the food I keep in cannisters is all food that I rotate through and use on a regular basis. I also typically keep it in my pantry, and bring it out for display for video days 😊 It's such good food! Have you tried anything from Thrive Life before? You can check it out here, and let me know if you have any questions: wickedprepared.thrivelife.com
Would one of those hand-held cooking lighter that chefs notoriously use for creme brulet work? Seems it could be used in many ways. (Excuse my spelling)
Just curious, is there a reason why you have all the jars and containers sitting on the counter? I'm new to your channel and thought that you were organizing your pantry. However, it looks like this in all 3 videos I've watched thus far😊
It's kind of a backdrop at this point, in the beginning it was because I had gotten new containers and hadn't reorganized the pantry to fit them. But even once they had a place, I think people had gotten used to seeing them and it invites conversation sometimes...so I always have some there! I may change some day but it seems it's become a fixture for people who have been watching for a long time! 🥰
Any suggestions on making the beef crumbles less spicy? I absolutely love them as is but my husband can't handle the spice level and neither can my toddler.
They definitely have a little kick 😊 I'm thinking maybe you could try mixing it with a little refried beans, or maybe tomato sauce. Or of course you could top it with a little sour cream, that would be my go-to 😃
I love your videos! 😀 👋🌺🍄🟫 I watched them on my Smart TV and I don’t know how to make comments. So here’s all my emojis on my cell phone.. please continue your wonderful suggestions
🆘️You have by far the best prepping channel. Realistic while actually demonstrating.
I agree! I love this channel. I listen/watch while I'm working, and I have already learned so many great tips!
i love that you do videos like this because it doesn't matter why you are prepping it is easy and accessible no matter your budget or space
🆘 ❤ love your food creativity. You’re challenging me 😉 to be better prepared. Thank you for being an inspiration to all.
SOS. Great job and I like that you showed how you would prepare it!
It's always fun to see what you come up with. Thanks for sharing.
You can place items that are in pouches that you want heated in the sun. We use to do this with MREs. Just a thought.

I love perogies ❤ yum!
I love these recipes. I honestly don't have to worry about cooking on my stove if the power goes out because I have an old 1950s Chambers gas stove.
🆘 Great ideas ! You are so helpful to everyone, Thx!
Great shelf stable meal ideas! 🆘

Very helpful! I’ll be making some meals for my daughter to store. Thank you! 🆘
You are wonderful beautiful and talented! 🏆🙏❤️

You are so creative. Never would I have ever thought to make potato lasagna or a soup with pasta sauce. I might try all three recipes.🆘
I absolutely love your dollar store recipes.
It has been the best place on a budget to get my emergency prep on.
When I make pierogi lasagna, I add sauerkraut. You could add a can of it as your veggie.
Love this idea!
Great idea it would even be good just for normal meal prep on those days when you are in a rush or don’t know what to make with what you have on hand…..just grab a bag 😊
Absolutely! We do that 😉

I love ur meals .
I'm so glad that you put in the substitutes for the onions. I'm also allergic to onions and it's so hard to find recipes that have substitutions 🆘️🆘️
🆘The soup looks yummy. I personally love a tomato base soup. Thanks Jara
🆘 You really have some amazing ideas, thank you 😁
You have a practical and can do no frills channel. Love it!
🆘. Thx Jara!

For the minestrone soup, I am going to try adding some freeze dried beef. Or maybe the beef crumbles. My husband would think he needs meat in the soup.
That's a great idea! My dollar tree also had the Hunt's sauce in the "meat" variety, but there isn't a whole lot of meat in that sauce.
My boyfriend thinks he needs meat with every meal. Our budget could be so much cheaper. I try not to let him see me cooking so I can cut the amount of meat in half.

Not sure if anyone else thought of this but if you have time cook your pasta then dehydrate them and store. You need less water and fuel to cook them
More great meal ideas for the pantry! I actually got some of that cheese sauce. I was hesitant about getting the quacamole but will definitely get one to try out.

🆘️ fantastic ideas for those who hate to cook...not much needed!
I love your channel. I just stumbled on it, but these are amazingly practical and nutritious. Thanks for developing these.

I love these meal ideas. 🆘
🆘
sos great video
I have made several of your meals in a bag these are looking good. You always have the best ideas.
Fantastic ideas! Thanks, Jara!
Thank you👏🏼🥰
Best shelf stable meals.
I love that guamole dip too! Great ideas!
It's something you would NOT think would be good but it really is! 😂
My dollar tree now carries both orange queso cheese and white queso. Those may work as well.
The black olives would also be good in the pasta salad. Love your creative ideas.
Yummy!!! ❤ 🆘️
🆘 I think I try to create my own chicken pasta salad “m-i-a-b”. I really liked that idea. Thanks for sharing!
🆘 Great meal ideas once again! I’ll be trying the pierogi lasagna. I think I’d add diced tomatoes to the nachos. 🙂

If it's sealed plus in a car I don't think it could hurt. Unless the bears can read. I could be wrong though.
I d add a small can of leas and carrots and maybe like tos to give the salad color..it looks gray and bland for meal number 2
🆘️🙂
You guys have way more food and stuff than we do in our dollar tree
Yeah I have to go to two neighboring towns in order to get Dollar Tree items because my local one is one of the worse I have ever been too. I hate saying that but it really really is.
Have you tried "baking" this on low heat in a Dutch oven over your Coleman burner? I am curious to know if this is an option. I am loving your videos! 😊
I think in the perogi recipe I would have to add a can of Rotel tomatoes. That's just me.
🆘️
The dollar tree fuel is meant to be used for warmers that is why it is not getting hot enough
🆘 I purchased by the dozen the Hereford taco beef for my emergency meals, I wonder what it tastes like.
I have tri3d foods from Dollar Tree and most of what we get does not taste good at all..minus the can goods

If onions won't work for your household, I bet the bread crumbs at DT will work on the lasagna.
Definitely!
🆘️do you have printable recipes?
