  • Had some friends come over to shove this barge into the garage, then I made it run and move again under it's own power.

    You are completely right when you were talking about how you could have the rotor pointing anywhere as long as your #1 plug wire will be plugged in there.

    • @Framlife351
      @Framlife351 5 лет назад +1

      It's customary to point the rotor towards #1

    • @stevenvanheel3932
      @stevenvanheel3932 5 лет назад +1

      That Guy yes, that is the right way to do it. But there’s no reason why you couldn’t make it work in any one of the other positions (except for the distributor not being able to twist enough due to interference with carb or firewall.)

    I just bought an old 1980 f 250 with a 351. Love how simple it is. No OBD connector and threw out a lot of vacuum lines so back to basics. Im going to park my newer truck and get this old one in shape.

    • @stevenvanheel3932
      @stevenvanheel3932 5 лет назад

      Good old ford and their vaccume lines. They have about a billion just for the climate control. I have a 77 f150 with a 351m and a 86 e350 with a 460. I like my old fords. But then again it sure is nice to have my 02 Chevy truck to get in and drive when my old cars and trucks break down. That thing is hands down the most reliable vehicle I have ever had.

      @@stevenvanheel3932 Ya i tore them all out and put a moroso air cleaner on it. Ive got it tuned so good that the microsecond the key turns to the starter it starts right up and idles so quiet at street lights that i put a tachometer in it just see if its running. Nostalgic to drive....miss my 67 chevy c20 tho too.

    That isn't the original engine anyway so throw that points distributor away and put in a HEI one. Don't use starting fluid. I've started so many of these after rebuilding or carb overhaul and if you fill the carb with gas through the vent tube on the carb the engine will usually run long enough to get fuel pumped right from the tank.
