It’s amusing that we receive an SMS or WhatsApp notification when we place an order with Swiggy or BigBasket, and we go through multiple layers of confirmation, such as Aadhaar OTPs, when opening an account. Yet, when we vote by pressing a button on the electronic voting machine, there is no digital record indicating that a specific EPIC number has cast a vote. Although manual processes such as collecting voting slips and signatures are in place, it would be significantly more secure if voters received an SMS confirmation after casting their votes. This fundamental right could also aid in identifying and notifying authorities if someone votes using your identity.
The EVM will hvae to be connected to another system for it to work that way.. But our EVM is a totally stand alone system for it to be safe from tampering from outside sources.. Your suggestion makes the EVMs vulnerable big time to rigging

The huge increase in voters number to about 76 lakhs, as calculated on the basis of more than 8 % increase in voters turn out after closing of voting hours & surprisingly more increase just 2 hours before the counting started, do give substantial evidence to raise doubts on the voting system through EVM, where digital manipulations appear quite likely to be made after voting hours. Hence, Supreme Court is required to be moved on this basis. A petition, too, is required to be filed to the Election Commission in this respect.
Based on 6.4 crore total votes and 1000 voters per booth , there were roughly 64000 booths . So increase of 76 lakhs votes means 118 extra votes after closing per booth . So its certainly possible .

As a person who handled information security, my opinion is: - Is the possibility of any system being compromised, is less than the existing process? Then go ahead - can enough operational checks and balances be built in the system where multiple people have to compromise their integrity if the system is to be cheated? Then go ahead and lastly, - is there a system which records the misdeeds, so that even if the system is defeated, we can replay the records and detect the fraud. It is co.mon sense that there is time lag between polling data and uploading. EC will be uploading provisional figure at 5 p.m. which represents actual voting at 4.30 p.m. Even your figure of 76 lacs is taken per Assembly segment average works out 26000. There will be minimum 200 booths per Assembly. It means around 130 people voted after 4.30 per booth in about 2 hours. Making mole out of mountain. What about postal ballots? Common grow up and accept reality.

And as you must have heard that any previous EC officers who played neutral were harassed by agencies! So actually everything adds up and shows a picture of something is very fishy !

The huge increase in voters number to about 76 lakhs, as calculated on the basis of more than 8 % increase in voters turn out after closing of voting hours & surprisingly more increase just 2 hours before the counting started, do give substantial evidence to raise doubts on the voting system through EVM, where digital manipulations appear quite likely to be made after voting hours. Hence, Supreme Court is required to be moved on this basis. A petition, too, is required to be filed to the Election Commission in this respect.
Based on 6.4 crore total votes and 1000 voters per booth , there were roughly 64000 booths . So increase of 76 lakhs votes means 118 extra votes after closing per booth . So its certainly possible .

@@jammRJ and hypothetically not every booth will have 1000 voters and neither is it humanly possible to vote 1000 votes in an hour. In addition, who gives an additional voting time of 3-4 hours, had it not been for the spineless, rigged and sold out EC.

-There is nothing in this world that is foolproof. As a person who handled information security, my opinion is:
- Is the possibility of any system being compromised, is less than the existing process? Then go ahead
- can enough operational checks and balances be built in the system where multiple people have to compromise their integrity if the system is to be cheated? Then go ahead and lastly,
- is there a system which records the misdeeds, so that even if the system is defeated, we can replay the records and detect the fraud.
According to me, EVM and the implementation satisfy the above conditions.
Of course, there is nothing final when it comes to security, and with time, these points need to be revalidated.

It is co.mon sense that there is time lag between polling data and uploading. EC will be uploading provisional figure at 5 p.m. which represents actual voting at 4.30 p.m. Even your figure of 76 lacs is taken per Assembly segment average works out 26000. There will be minimum 200 booths per Assembly. It means around 130 people voted after 4.30 per booth in about 2 hours. Making mole out of mountain. What about postal ballots? Common grow up and accept reality.
My city is not big on population in maharashtra.....it has has 394 polling rooms....and evm can can count upto 2000 votes...
Thats around 8,00,000 people...
