Mate you are a legend, i have the same problem on my corsa d, drivers side, i thought my caliper was ceased so i stripped it, then thought the hose was blocked and then watched this video, you saved me a lot of messing about and garage fees, ordered a second hand one for 70 quid, thanks a million mate ☺
I did everything you've done, starting with caliper, hose and metal tube, the problem was on the first channel on the abs pump itself, valve was stuck in closed position. I heated the pump on oil radiator 😅 for an hour, sprayed valve opening with wd40, generously, and hit it with a hammer couple of times 😬 close to jamed valve, after that valve was unstuck and I was able to bleed the system, flow was enabled and it's braking again.
Brilliant video. My daughters corsa is having breaking issues where only the drivers side front brake is working. Sounds like the abs pump to me. I'll remove it and test it as you've described. Many thanks.
I had this exact problem. I'm not mechanical at all so I took it to a garage who quoted me £792 to fix. It didn't feel right so I started looking around. Anyway I ended up buying a second hand part and got a mechanic to fit it. Less than 2 weeks later the second hand part is giving me the same issue 😟 Thankyou for breaking this down, at least I know whats going on.
You can send yours off to be reconditioned or buy a reconditioned part..they will come with s guarantee. But a lot more expensive..that's the chance you take with any secondhand part..you have just been unlucky.
So an easy way to see if you have this problem is first try and bleed your brakes, if no fluid squirts out at pressure when brake is applyed then this is the fault. Is that correct? Great video by the way.
@nunogoncalves24 I have a same problem with my vw polo 6 2011. Did you manage to win on ur situation.Mine happened after being involved in car crash eve the steering is heavy.
Mine turned out be corroded wiring in the loop on passenger side and new sensor. Stressed that first diagnosis mechanic said it cost £800 to replace pump n labour. But took for 2nd diagnosis, plugged into a scanner and guys tested ohms (wheel speed?? Some other electrical terms 🤷🏽♀️) ...traced it to wiring and sensor. £270 job.

Weird thing was that the ABS light both before and after remained off and I hadn’t actually noticed any swerving when using the brakes. Reckon it could have been a bit of BS due to it being such a common problem with lucrative results in garage? They told me the car should be considered a breakdown until fixed, what would you say?
I good garage would easily diagnose this problem, The abs light does not show most times with this problem, If you are not confident in your mechanical skills to check for yourself, then a rolling road test will show up the fault, I.E like when you take your car for a MOT and they test the brakes, it would definitely show up then.
Same thing's happened to my nephew's car and the garage has diagnosed it when it went in for an MOT. The ABS light doesn't come on cos it's not an electrical/electronic failure so there's no way for the control unit to detect it. It's a physical fault in the valve.
Good video. this as just happened to my mother in-laws car but drivers side brake won’t work will it be the same fault only noticed as I took it for mot test today
Bits & Pieces hi thanks for fast response cheers for that great demonstration on video I’m guessing theirs no uprated pump for this not to happen again

My lads corsa pulls to the left while braking hard and sort of skids before stopping.its ok when braking steady and drives in a straight line.a mechanic check the servo and master cylinder they are ok..so he seem to think it's the abs pump
Jack the front of the car up so both front wheels are off the ground. Get someone to press the brake pedal, keep it pressed down and see if you can turn any of the front wheels, if you can turn one side then that is your problem brake. Try the same thing on the back wheels..if it's an ABS problem it's ussally only on one wheel/brake. Bad tracking can also cause a car to pull to one side on braking too.
remove the motor add the valve body to the nightly dishwasher and lightly tap the body of the ABS block to PERSUADE the stuck valve to release .. once the valve assembly is functioning as it should flush the passageways and valves with new brake fluid .
Hi, could be a number of things..you need to plug it in to a code reader to see if it comes up with anything..you could do a visual manual check, take the road wheels off and check the ABS censor wires for breaks or wear, rust and so on..

Also, disassemble, spray with WD and tap with a hammer. test that the valve works with a strong magnet. apparently it was clogged due to impurities in the brake fluid. 👍
It's only when you brake. That's because all the braking is only being done by one brake caliper on one side...if your car is pulling to one side generally, then that's probably down to a suspension/steering problem..like the tracking being out.

I have changed pads and new discs and callipers are defo all free and working properly. This abs problem in your video, can it cause the brakes to stick on? After watching your 1st class video, if it it the module i might have ago meself rather than pay the £1000 I think they gonna quote me
Hi there. If you have changed everything then it probably will be down to the braking module...I have not really heard or had any experiences of this problem with it causing it to stick, but that does not mean the abs braking system is not at fault..come back and let us know what they find the problem is.

@@BitsPieces Thanks . My pedal goes to the floor and I have replaced the master cylinder, the back wheel cylinders, the front calipers , new rubber brake lines. Pressure bled the system, while activating the pump ABS pump motor, swapped the ABS contol module with 2 used ones, But I didn't have the pressure bleeder or scanner then. I think you just told me my problem, because my right front caliper is not gripping the rotor enough to keep me from turning the wheel while a friend presses the brake.. I have no codes or warnings recorded, as I now have an autel scanner. Thanks again for the informative video.
Hello there!! I got an opel corsa 2007 1.2 when i stop the car using brakes and then start it back up and try to drive away the breaks lock without me doing anything but if i stop the car using the handbreak and then start ut back up the car works normally...whats the issue here? (Sorry for the bad english i hope u understood what am i talking about)
Its like ABS lock-release, lock-release for a couple of times and then drives normally
Sounds like it could be sticking caliper or handbrake mechanism/cable sticking
@@BitsPieces oh thanks for the quick answer man! Appreciate it! I took it to a "mechanic" the other day amd he was like "oh you need to buy a new abs pump (or whatever its called)"
He didnt check it or anything just from what i told him he made that conclusion
I would take it to another Mechanic to look at, for a second opinion..Its not really easy for me to tell you what the problem is without actually looking at the car...But the ABS pump is a common problem on these.
Wow, what a video, top banana mate. Heres a question for you, I have 2010 astra and randomly drivers side front wheel is smoking and the disc and alloy red hot as if brake is sticking on. I have changed pads and new discs and callipers are defo all free and working properly. This abs problem in your video, can it cause the brakes to stick on? Been to vauxhall and they agree nothing wrong with callipers etc.. and also thing it could be abs module. They still have car at minute investigating but I reckon they gonna say it is the module.
Bits & Pieces So got car back and Vauxhaull cannot find problem. They drove car over 100 mile and could not replicate our fault, albeit was raining all week so probably kept brakes cool. However got car back now and no further forward, apart from £99 lighter in pocket for a diagnostic that showed nothing. Will just see how it goes
@@stevemcclelland536 Thanks for the update.
Hi my mechanics sent my one off for reconditioning but when it got back the rear brakes didn’t pump any fluid and front started working again. Is that even possible or is he tryna scam me?
I would take it back to them to fix the fault.
same model which has the same problem in my tool I would appreciate if you can help with the solution
Hi..all the info is in the video
@@BitsPieces
Are the brakes fully improved?my vehicle brakes to the right when I press
@@onurmengi1982 Yes..if it's the ABS pump that is the problem..changing the pump will fix it..I suggest you take it to a mechanic to get a proper diagnosis.
Any recommendations for a reconditioning company?
I would just do a Google search and see what comes up..there may be a place local to you.
I can recommend control units in Cullompton
Great video, thanks mate
Good information 👌🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Glad you found it informative..
Your video is a brilliant help! Just one question when replacing with the new pump how do you reach the nut at the back when putting it back on. Cant seem to get the spanner in
I do not understand your question sorry..you must have undone all the nuts to remove it...there is a rubber bush/grommet that hold the pump in place too..you just need to pull hard on the pump to pull it out..as in the video..thanks
A long angled ring spanner did the job for me.
do these not need coded?
No..
@@BitsPieces amazing... thanks!!
Changed this on Friday. Reasonably easy job thanks to the video 🙂
@digitalcommandos303 Brilliant
i have same problems and i can change my car abs module now abs warnings light blinking in instruments cluster. what i do ? help me(vw polo)
Did you replace ot with the same model code... disconnected the battery for five minutes and reconnect it and see if that clears the flashing light..if not you may need to have it plugged into a OBD socket to read the fault codes..ots very difficult to give you advice without me being with the car.
@@BitsPieces I change abs module sir but now flashing abs light how to fix it I have polo 1.2tdi 2011 highline car
Thanks for very helpful advice sir
Is there any specialist to unclog the abs valve?
If you.search the internet. You will find specialist that recondition the pumps
Controlunits in Cullompton he did my mazda 2
@@chucky2316 where is that?
@@alvinscorner Devon he fixed my mazda in 2 hours for 280 quid 😁. If you Google control units Cullompton his details should come up
You said start bleeding from the wheel farthest from master cylinder. I think its not correct should start with the wheel fartest from abs pump
Same thing
Hi I have Mariva 2011 when i press brake it feels like car push forward at low speed from rear brakes anyone have this problem with car please tell me what it coud be ABS or brake callipers.
Nice vid mate 👌👍👌👍
Hello. I replaced the abs block and noticed 2 brake pipes are wrong. Can something serious happen if I do not mount them properly? Thank you.
If you know they are the wrong way around..just put them the right way.
I noticed no lights on the board and I guess it's ok.
Great video
Thanks for watching
My sons just showed up on MOT failure so wanted to check what’s required. I hope I can get them to provide a reconditioned one and not rip me off £500 for a new new one. Fuming. Vauxhall really are shite cars.
Great video thank you
Thanks
