The thing about that meme which always slightly bothered me is you can still parry a gun it it’s called a half parry where you parry a bit too early and have a 70% physical resistance. Sure you’d lose like 40% of your health and get a dent in your armor but in actuality given the mechanics of dark souls it wouldn’t affect you much logically
After playing persona 5, the way he uses the music is actually genius. Having the velvet room theme play when you go to the hunters dream upon first death is so good.
It's incredible how this guy turns limitations into super-strong advantages. Like: "The guns in the game are not designed to cause damage" 1K of damage to the final for one shot
Guns can do good damage, even without going ball the way to 99 blood tinge, but you still need to go to 50 for a good blood tinge build. Evelyn, Chikage, and Bow Blade are great. (It kind of breaks some bosses to be able to do good damage from range. Like Lawrence just expects you to be fighting him up close, especially when he is just a torso and moves slowly). It does take a good chunk of the game playing normally to get to Cainhurst (or the Bow Blade, which is basically at the end of the DLC) to get the good blood tinge weapons.

@@EgXzeeT Yes, but no. Think of Chalice dungeons like grinding spots to make the main game easier. The main chalice dungeon's completion can get you okay blood gems, okay blood stones, and pretty decent blood echoes. But the chalice dungeons ymfah used and are detailed above is like going to a late-game grinding spot, right after you leave your starting town in an RPG. You get more blood echoes than Mergo's wet nurse, the last mandatory boss in the game, by just walking into the chalice dungeon.

I have seen a lot of Bloodborne videos but honestly I think this is my favorite, fantastic editing and music and I love the idea of a gun only run, I may actually do that my next playthrough just to spice it up a bit. Love the Persona crossover too haha.
Coming back to this video after the recently discovered "rapid fire, infinite ammo" glitch makes me respect this run even more. I can only imagine how it would look with this new tech.

@@dankwarmouse6248 Yeah, the drop rate for the right bloodtinge gem (~29.1%) is pretty low (took me about 50 tries). I used the item duplicate trick from his Pacifist run and 3 Eye runes to increase the drops for gems
You can club someone to death with a gun, but a gun isn't a club unless you swing it. Ergo, the Reiterpallasch is a gun that only becomes a sword once you swing it.

I've platinumed bloodborne but never messed around with bloodtinge until seeing this video. This is the most fun I've ever had playing the game. There's something so satisfying about blasting monsters in the face with the repeating pistol!

I just finished my own gun only run inspired heavily by this. I found the Evelyn to be a far more economically viable weapon after defeating Vicar Amelia. Without question Ludwig was the hardest challenge. I could get through everything with just upgrading bloodtinge. He was the boss that I had to boost my health. Even then I barely beat him with the resources I had. The run required a hell of a lot of farming and resource management was more critical than usual. But it really wasn’t that tedious. It may be a while before I try a run like that again, but it was a ton of a fun for me nonetheless. Excellent video and thanks for the inspiration.
ironically I found Ludwig to be the biggest joke ever with this build. he gets staggered so easily with this setup, and Ludwig 2nd phase is just a cakewalk since he stands so still. easy peasy.

@@EgXzeeT Yes, but no. Think of Chalice dungeons like grinding spots to make the main game easier. The main chalice dungeon's completion can get you okay blood gems, okay blood stones, and pretty decent blood echoes.
But the chalice dungeons ymfah used and are detailed above is like going to a late-game grinding spot, right after you leave your starting town in an RPG. You get more blood echoes than Mergo's wet nurse, the last mandatory boss in the game, by just walking into the chalice dungeon.

I have seen a lot of Bloodborne videos but honestly I think this is my favorite, fantastic editing and music and I love the idea of a gun only run, I may actually do that my next playthrough just to spice it up a bit. Love the Persona crossover too haha.
Coming back to this video after the recently discovered "rapid fire, infinite ammo" glitch makes me respect this run even more. I can only imagine how it would look with this new tech.

@@dankwarmouse6248 Yeah, the drop rate for the right bloodtinge gem (~29.1%) is pretty low (took me about 50 tries). I used the item duplicate trick from his Pacifist run and 3 Eye runes to increase the drops for gems

I just finished my own gun only run inspired heavily by this. I found the Evelyn to be a far more economically viable weapon after defeating Vicar Amelia. Without question Ludwig was the hardest challenge. I could get through everything with just upgrading bloodtinge. He was the boss that I had to boost my health. Even then I barely beat him with the resources I had. The run required a hell of a lot of farming and resource management was more critical than usual. But it really wasn’t that tedious. It may be a while before I try a run like that again, but it was a ton of a fun for me nonetheless. Excellent video and thanks for the inspiration.
ironically I found Ludwig to be the biggest joke ever with this build. he gets staggered so easily with this setup, and Ludwig 2nd phase is just a cakewalk since he stands so still. easy peasy.
