For the second one, my aunt actually met her second husband over the net. Not the same situation, as the and her first had been separated for some time. However, unlike this story it actually worked out and they are still together. Though i have heard a lot of stories about relationships that didn't work out as well.
Also, it makes me think of a frequently mentioned concept in The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. The worst thing you can do to a person is do nothing and let them experiences the consequences of their own folly.

Bitumen was well-known and well-used in ancient times. That gooey, sticky stuff was laying about all over the place in the middle east, f'rinstance, bringing down property values until they hit upon the technique of wiping it on their ships and jars to waterproof them.

yeah bitumen roofing needs to be heated with a blowtorch and it then glues itself to the surface which you are trying to isolate, mostly used in the past (today they use some kind of liquid rubber, a bit more expensive but lasts longer without needing repair, however to repair the old roofs you can still find bitumen also its available as a less expensive solution) for flat concrete roofs so nailing it to the roof is such a retarded move because not only does it not hold in case of wind, it even leaks water in the places you punctured with a nail, making all that work for nothing.
