Makes perfect sense. Drive away functioning employees and expect things to keep going. Good employees ready to perform a job are very hard to find. So, watch a perfectly good business go down the tubes. All because the boss has an ego.

gee whiz...that guy who fires the OP then days later begs for them to come back...I'd say/write some people are dumber than a box of hammers, but that'd be an insult to the hammers.
I'd have been inclined to give the dumbasses in question a mirror, but I doubt they would understand anything about reflection and would assume that's the same thing as deflection.
The first one reminds me of my teaching days. There was a kid who constantly complained about 'sore head', sore tummy', 'sore arm', 'sore leg' and having cried wolf so many times, when he actually hurt his foot, I ignored it, after I'd checked it and found nothing wrong. The mother had taken him to the hospital, where they diagnosed a sprain and chipped bone. She decided to sue the school (unsuccessfully), because of which, we contacted her every time the kid made a complaint and told her she would have to come for him and get him checked out. After three weeks, that kid never complained again.
Related: I'm pretty sure that under Australian law, any emergency services worker has the right to block traffic while on duty if it's necessary to their normal work. Obviously, they can only do that for a "reasonable" amount of time and aren't allowed to do it just because they "feel like it" but that's something a court would sort out if necessary.

First Story: The bit about people bringing their crotchspawn reminded me of how I handled people repeatedly breaking the rule at my lab (it says right in the waiting room that children are not to be left unsupervised and staff is not allowed or obligated to watch them; patients must reschedule otherwise). Put up pictures of them on a laminated sign with the same rule in thirty-point font. Even got the cops next door to help patrol the parking so no one got the idea of leaving their kids in their cars (highly illegal).
Here in small town USA, we had a Fire Station up till a few months ago, that the Fire Fighters had to do the same to get their trucks back into the bays. Located on a four lane road, one building from the corner of the intersection. They have since moved to a new location about a mile or so down the road with a much better building with access from the rear.
Did the road get expanded after the fire house was built? Where I live the state widened a two lane road to 4 lanes and a median and a couple of firehouses are almost in the road.
@@odysseus2656 many older than the 1950s are built right on the edge of the road or set back just the length of the truck because the trucks were shorter and easily maneuvered…
Frankly I’d have just accused the chief of attempted vehicular assault/murder. If they could prove they accelerated to someone who was in their way with security footage, they could argue in court they were attempting to run them over
I don't think this story is true: 1. Firefighter can stop traffic - they do everytime they have to kill a fire or rescue someone if there is not enough space for other cars to pass or if it is to dangerous (the drivers or the firefighters) - they just use their trucks to block the street. 2. We don't have something like a chief in every station. There is a chief for every bigger city or region, smaller station do have someone who is more like a manager. 3. If he is a chief or just the boss of a station, that stunt would cost him this job - he would be replaced and will be send to another station as a "normal" cop. The Chief is a politician - with this stunt in the newspapers, he would be gone so fast, that he will be burned. 4. If it was a small town, then the firefighters are volunteers, and everyone in the town knows them, volunteer firefighters always live nearby, because they come to their station only if they are needed (or for training) - but they are not 24/7 in the station. PO in germany are almost every time someone who live near enough to be able to commute every day - but he can be from outside of the town. It is the same for professional firefighters who works for 24/7. Germany has two different typs of firefighters: 1.) The professional fire brigade: the stationen manned 24/7/365. Not every city / town / village has a pfb. 2.) The volunteer fire brigade: small villages or town has a vfb. If the are needed, the leave their 9-5 job, drive to the station, and drive to the fire. Vfb is not payed, they will be payed by their 9-5 bosses, and the boss can get this money back from the village. 2a.) All Cities with a pfb do have a vfb too, but they are only used if there are to many assignments, or big assignments. Then hey will assist or make sure that other an new assignments can be handled.
