    I barely made it to a store once. My a/c in my car was out. I left work and thought I could make it home 40 min on the hwy. Had all windows down and there was traffic of all times. I started panicking upping my heart rate more because I needed the nearest exit and water. Finally got to my exit, walked in the store unbelievably dizzy and straight to the bathroom and drenched my face, my neck. I was shaking in there. Came out 10 minutes later still with the shakes, bought water and ice and sat outside and poured that ice over my head. Scariest moment of my life. Drove home with with ice cubes continously on my neck. My shakes didn't stop until about 4 hrs later. Never drive in the summer with no a/c.

I know when coming in from the heat you think of just hopping straight into the shower, but it’s not good and can cause your body to go into shock if you go from extreme heat to extreme cold suddenly. It’s best to just rest for about 10-15 minutes then get in the cool shower.

    I ended up getting heat stroke in the summer. Felt drunk sober. Couldn’t think. Couldn’t walk well. Big headache. Just drank as much water as I could without throwing up and sat in the tub. Ice to my forehead and vitamins. Bf didn’t leave my side. I told him to call 911 if I passed out. Luckily I didn’t and serious conditions went away after a few hours and I felt normal a few days later. I would never go to the hospital in Canada unless I was actively dying. Our healthcare is horrendous

    I think I had heat stroke today. We did a hike that we underestimated. Didn't bring enough water, my urine was dark and we grabbed a water bottle filled it with water from a fall for my daughter as a gift. After less than 10 minutes we needed to poor half the water on my head. We did that for about 2 minutes. In heat stroke, where the body has lost its ability to regulate body temperature, or to get rid of excessive heat that is normally done by sweating, a symptom is not going to be excessive sweating. At the point of heat stroke, which is not the same as heat exhaustion or heat illness (loss of electrolytes, usually during strenuous activity in a hot environment) where you would have profound sweating, the body literally cannot produce sweat anymore, so the skin will be hot and dry.
    The treatment is pretty self-explanatory, but in a critical setting such as heat stroke, the first thing to do is remove clothing and apply ice packs to the neck, armpits, groin, and chest (cold baths are good, too, but remember, those take more time to fill up). Also, if cooling by submerging in water, remember it’s COLD water, not ice water. The reason for this is that a patient undergoing heat stroke, or even just someone with normal core temp, a sudden submerging into ICE water can cause the body to go into cardiogenic shock. This is especially true for someone with malignant hyperthermia, which is a hypermetabolic response to anesthesia (corrected with cooling and dantrolene), which is why common practice nowadays is to use ice packs applied to areas with large lymph nodes and vessels (and internal cooling, etc.) for faster circulation to internal organs, especially the vital organs, to lower core temperature as quickly as possible to prevent organ failure.
    Unlike normal ABCs of medical care (Airway, Breathing, and Circulation), treatment of heat stroke focuses on CAB (Circulation, Airway, and Breathing) because the problem lies with the heart being unable to maintain cardiac output (CO) in the face of high core temperatures, which is also usually associated with dehydration, which further contributes to the body’s hypotension (low blood pressure).

      What would be the permanent effects from heat stroke untreated? I had excessive sun exposer during the sameb which I had headache that felt like my brain was swelling, during the headaches I had sensitivy to light and sound,
      If somebody's brain swelled up would an MRI (done 30 days later) still show the swelling or would you have to get mri done that Same day during that swelling sensation?
      How would doctors check for damage to the body for someone that had heat stroke months ago?

    You know, I have to avoid getting to hot like that especially in the summer time, because it gets too hot like this, and I have to use my fans and the air conditioning unit to cook myself down, and I have to put on summer clothes only for that particular matter to keep myself safe. And I’m very lucky that I did not deal with this under 5 years old. Because it’s deadly in toddlers, because I would’ve gotten killed if I got too hot during my years of being a toddler. And it also gets worse when you’re 65 and older, and they can get burned very easily.

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  Месяц назад

      Heat stroke is a severe condition that occurs when the body overheats, usually due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures, and can be life-threatening, especially in vulnerable groups like toddlers and the elderly. Staying cool with fans, air conditioning, and wearing appropriate summer clothes are essential strategies to prevent overheating during hot weather. It's fortunate that you didn't experience heat stroke as a toddler, as young children and older adults are at higher risk and need extra precautions to stay safe in extreme heat. Staying hydrated and avoiding excessive heat exposure are key to preventing this dangerous condition.

      Bro , are u having any long term effects ? I got heat stroke 4 weeks ago but didn’t pass out , I was able to walk my self to the car and drive home and cool down . I haven’t been the same since . I work outside all day and now feel dizzy when it’s hot which never use to happen. My heart keeps pulsating at rapid speeds now out of nowhere even though I’m not doing any excersize or heavy work . 2 days ago I was legit laying down and my heart started to got ark east 150 beats per minutes . I also now get shortness of breath even for the most basic activities . I tried to get it on with my girl but when I was about to climax my chest started to feel compressed lol so I had to quit it . I was healthy and didn’t have no breathing issues until I almost had heatstroke . I got no insurance so I don’t want to visit a doctor but if i keep feeling like this then it is what it is . I was healthy and didn’t have any of these complications before my heat stroke so I’m guessing it was because of that . Please awnser thanks

    Elevation of heat temperature is understandable for any heat stroke, yet when the body is at rest, not in motion, sitting and in a shaded place, it cannot be related nor ruled out as heat stroke, since the body is at rest, aside from the bodily fluids that the person has before, or if he or she is to pass out. Everything are relatable to the presence of Radio frequency, emitted by radio towers, or any of their consoles that controls Radio frequency release and emission daily, felt, and through auditory and sensory skills, are traceable as they are invasion of privacy and identity theft.

At the time I didn’t know what was going on so I went to drink sum water and I drank a full cup in just a few seconds , one after another one . I didn’t realize I was THAT thirsty , I guess my mind was playing tricks on me . I got back to work and 5 minutes in I started to feel the same side effects . Once again , for sum reason it didn’t occur in my mind that I might be having a heat stroke . I’m feeling like this for another hour then I took my 10 min break . I went to drink more water then laid in the shade and felt good again . Break is over now we only have 1 hours left to complete our shift for the day . Once again 5 minutes into work I’m feeling like shit again but this time my head keeps pounding and now I’m losing hearing. Now I really feel like I’m about to pass out . My legs got weak but I manage to work the last hour until I got home which is another hours drive and took a cold shower and felt sleepy the whole day . After that I haven’t been the same since… My heart starts to race out of nowhere . Even a little 70-80 degrees gets me exhausted now . I was working out and my chest started to feel compressed . I wanted to get it on with my women and I couldn’t finish because my chest started to feel compressed and my heart started to race faster than I ever felt in my life . Now when I stand up to quick I feel like I’m going to pass out . The last hour of every shift I feel like shit , mind you I never had any of these issues until I experience the heat stroke . I don’t know what to do and don’t have a doctor cause I got no insurance . I’m young too as I’m only 23 but this sucks

      @@dberna6149 sounds exactly what happened to me except I wasn’t out for as long as you I went home early as my boss sent me home from me throwing up it honestly sounds like you could have some permeant damage from the heat stroke I’m also 24 and have no health insurance so I feel for you bro they say it can take up to a month to let your body fully recover from the damages of over heating from heat stroke i would honestly say if your still having symptoms from it I you should go to the doctors even if you gotta pay outta pocket you wanna make sure nothing is permanently damaged heat stroke is no joke and a medical emergency hope the best for you man
