I am taking a wild guess here: you won't be able to find, easily, an American/British admiral speaking French to the same level as Rear Admiral David Desfougeres speaking English.

France has a very strong defense industry, with world-class companies such as Dassault/Naval Group/Nexter/Thales/MBDA, etc. backed by networks of specialized contractors (and subcontractors), with skilled designers, engineers, technicians. This defense industry is producing advanced omni-role fighters, naval vessels (including nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, ballistic missile submarines, attack submarines, etc.), MBT and MCIV, missiles of different types -- all of which make France the leading Western European military. The quality of French weapon systems is known and appreciated by many countries around the world, enabling France to be often the second/third weapons exporter, just behind the US.
Yes, MBDA came together because of the Meteor Missile prototype selection, a joint venture between France and Britain that formed Matra BAe Dynamics and additional collaboration funding from Germany and Italy, which formed MBDA in 1997.
@@crazyhorse1771 Yes, MBDA exists from combining companies from various Western European countries who brought together their products. You can quibble over small details, if you want. As of today, MBDA is head-quartered in France, with a French CEO, and its French workforce (6,000) is considerably larger than those of UK (4,000) and Italy (2,000). France is the main driver of MBDA's activities, including international marketing & sales.

just 1 to replace the current CATOBAR, but it would be good to have a basic one in case the main one is not available (it's a shame not to have developed aircraft carriers in common with the English and other Europeans to reduce costs)

Cette catégorie de navires n'existe pas dans la marine française il me semble, c'est d'autres catégories qui se charge de la lutte anti Sous-marin, aérienne etc...
The FDI, like the Fremm, are destroyers, fulfill the destroyers’ role and are considered as such by NATO, thus they have a hull number starting with a D.

France build beautiful navy vessels
Love the French Naval Assets
Kudos to all branches of the French military. The do far more with their funding than any other nation on Earth.
The Admiral made a lot of sense. In a time of rapidly evolving weapon systems, rapidly upgrading existing ships to counter threats is essential.
NON c'est impossible.... A Frenchman speaking, willingly, decent English. Incroyable 😅
2 en l'occurence.

MBDA is not French, it's European. Airbus & BAE Systems own 37.5% each and Leonardo owns 25%

@Beyllion Ok.....Dude.
But france offered full support to India to develop Nuclear Attack Submarine.
France won’t develop a common nuclear carrier or submarine with India, but it can help India develops its own just like France is doing with Brazil.

That admiral speak fluent english.. there no french accent at all in his english =D amazing. 😀
How many carriers is the French navy planning on purchasing? Is it just a one for one replacement of the de Gaulle or will there be multiple carriers?

Why dont they build a naval in visayas? That would be more strategic, Subic is in the NCR that is rather far from the rest of the Philippine islands.

2038 is so late for the PANG, same as with the FCAS fighter arriving in 2040+
late? is there an emergency for more powerful tools that those in service?
How is it “late”? It is due to come in service at the end of the current carrier’s service life, like any other ship or carriers in the US Navy.
The Turkish navy will swim with the fishes once this vessel is commissioned in greece.😂😂

It's similar to Japan's Mogami class. LOL
you mean the Mogami which copied the french Lafayette and Gowind frigates?
