@@Dridgeism it’s just my opinion, but I believe that the majority of popular rock music became much more timid and “safe” after 9/11 happened. Another way to say it would be that if 9/11 never happened, TFOT would have become one of the biggest bands on earth. Up until that point, heavy music reigned supreme in the popular rock genre. Think SOAD, Linkin Park, At the Drive-In etc. there were many others as well.
