Its a bummer that we won't be seeing a poco with triggers anymore :( hopefully it'll be back with the snapdragon 8 plus gen 1 with air triggers just like the Red Magic 8 Pro tho
I know right, i mean the concept is already pretty cool and having to elevate that experience further would've been great.
Planning to Buy this in December! Ipon-ipon muna 😄
Sana December na para ma enjoy mo ☺️
Yep, having it for a month and it's great!
Awesome ☺️
How long does the battery last for you on days when you're just using it to browse and watch videos on social media, with little to no gaming
Awesome channel. Will look out for you more!
The transition music was quite loud compared to the rest of the video though
Apologies for that, still a work in progress for me 😅
Great review Chris! May I ask where did you buy the phone's case?
Thanks! 🤘🏻.
If you're in the Philippines, you can simply check Shopee and key in Redmi K50 Gaming Edition case 🙂
or you can try this link: invol.co/claujwa
@@chrisispoint Awesome man! You're amazing! Keep on doing what you do! You're great at it! 🙏👏
@@chrisispoint Do we already have it in the stores such as the mall?
i'm not 100% sure if it is already available in local stores, but you can try the links i've posted in the description, those are for Shopee and Lazada, if you're in the Philippines 🙂
Hi Im new here , i love your review . May i ask where i can buy poco f4 gt 256 gb variant
as for my 2 years of use on this phone, main issue is fast overheating (within minutes of usage because of the SD Gen 1). green lines started to show, until it almost filled my screen. I had to buy a new screen worth P3,000. I'm going to buy a new one, I can't handle the heating issues on this phone.
The fact that you've maximized it for 2 years, I think buying a new one at this point in time is very much deserved 😉
This is probably the worst phone I have ever owned....
The thermal throttling snapdragon 8 gen 1 is just ridiculus.. Even youtube makes the phone so hot it will shut down all applications. I usually cant use the flashlight as its the first thing that gets locked due to overheating.
You can basically forget gaming on this gaming phone, it will be so hot you wont be able to hold it in your hands. I get around 40 fps on the lowest settings in farlight. The sad thing nobody mentions this in these long term reviews, but this phone is unuseable...
Can't say that I can do a follow up even if I wanted to since I don't have the device ready at the moment, but I've been constantly seeing a lot of posts regarding the throttling of the device due to the heat more recently as opposed to when it was first released, and it's not just with the F4 GT but also other devices that house the same chip.
fact, this sht cant even used to play game for 30 minutes. it heats, performance dropped... even my previous phone (poco f2 pro) is way better than this
Napa subcribe ako bihira Lang ako mag subcribe tinatamad ako pero itong Channel nato solid salamat po new supporter and more uploads and I love to watch if you upload game plays from pubg mobile. And Mobile legends I will always watch and like❤️🔥
salamat po 🙂🙏
it was good phone still using, playing star rail and genshin impact most of the times
that's awesome ☺️
Poco F4 GT.., best looking phone I have ever owned. I really loved the design and the feel of the phone. Sadly, I have returned it recently and swapped out for a Black Shark 5 (non Pro). This was mainly based on the CPU throttling I was experiencing with the Poco... With the throttling test, after 5 minutes it would perform at 60% of the initial performance, and not go up again. This seems to be an issue with SD 8 gen 1... Wish they had gone with SD870 on the P F4 GT ... Then the performance would have matched the great design.. (black shark 5 quite bulky.. but no throttling..)
I'd probably agree to this if I get to experience having to use a Black Shark 5. I've yet to actually use one so I can't really comment or speculate but thanks for the awesome comment 🙂
The very reason why its not throttling is because BS5 is snapdragon 870
I really appreciate your video! I've been really considering this phone with the 11T pro.
I didn't know which was better overall but since I'm focusing on the gaming aspects, i guess I should get the Poco F4 GT? What do you think?
P.S: I plan to use the phone for atleast 3 years.
Ah if gaming is the priority, then the F4 GT is your solid choice. The 11T Pro is an okay device, I'm actually using the 11T at the moment but when it comes to gaming, having the latest and greatest is your best bet.
The Snapdragon 888 on the 11T Pro is strong, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is relatively more powerful and the heat control is great.
@@chrisispoint yesss! Thank you so much!! Gaming is definitely a priority. I'll go for the Poco F4 GT ~
As for the earphones since there's no jack, is there any earpuds you'd recommend? I've been told to get buds pro. Audio quality & microphone quality matters alot to me.
This phone has 3 mics, not sure if there's an option to use these mics while using the earpuds for audio.. is it possible? And may I have your opinion on which earpuds do you recommend?
Honestly I'd recommend the POCO Buds, aside from the fact that it is just cool to have a limited edition variant, it works well with gaming.
But if brand specific isn't an issue, you can try looking into the realme buds Air 3, not only do they sound great both input and output, the latency is quite low which makes it great for gaming.
Alright! Thank you again, I really appreciate your help~!
your welcome 😃
Can I have that wallpaper of yours too its a nice design if not so will you just please tell me how you created that wallpaper pleaseeeee!!!
Pleaseeeee
Send pls😅
Do you had any problem with sensor proximity or network??
nope 🙂
Which one do you think is the best when it comes to camera? F4 or F3? I'm thorn between them. I can't decide 🤣
Honestly, between the F3 and the F4 GT, I'd bank on the F4 GT, the optics are just so much better even the video recording capability is so much smoother.
That's noted. Thank you!
your welcome 🙂
Is it worth it? , I plan to buy for long term, at least 5 years..
Not for gaming, just for daily use..
Looking phone with good speed for every app.. thanks for answering
The thing is, POCO is yet to confirm how many major software upgrades it will be pushing the POCO devices released in 2022. On a positive note, if you're gonna be banking on it's specifications alone, then this is a good option to consider for the next 3-5 years.
One month with it!!! I loved it
Nice!
Did you customize po yung function of the pop-up triggers and LED light sa camera set up ng POCO F4 GT nagamit mo po ba para malaman mong may notification ka?
Yan kasi yung favorite kong quirks ng gaming phone na to.
I actually configured mine wherein the left trigger activates the camera and the left trigger activates the record video.
As for the LED light, hindi ko siya ginagamit actually kasi may watch na nag vvibrate pag may nag message so parang useless na feature na, pero even if di ko gamit yung watch, naka face up lagi yung phone so di ko rin nakikita.
@@chrisispoint Nice naman. Di ba ang useful din. Kahit Hindi gamer like me ma-appreciate to
yep kaya in contrast sa mga ibang Android na flagship chip, sulit siya for the price
@@chrisispoint yes super Sulit talaga lalo na at jam-packed sa specs and special features di ka na talo.
wala lng 3.5 mm jack 🥲
Does it get hot when you use it for gaming? And is there any thermal throttling?
Based on my testing which I did also explain in the video under the gaming segment, the throttling does occur but not that evident.
It does heat up but not a lot and mostly is dependent on the graphical settings of he game, if set to performance mode and if the room temperature is hot.
How is this vs the updated redmi note 11?
in terms of?
If were talking raw performance the F4 GT has a snapdragon 8 Gen 1, redmi note 11 has a snapdragon 600 series chip... so it's like a your question is pointing towards a flagship vs a midrange device.
Do you use tempered glass or hydrogel?
On a regular basis, neither. But for this review video, I was just using the pre installed screen protector. 🙂
Ok bro awesome review
Very well structured and veny nice edited , the music the video samples, image and game playing everything is alright
I have subscribed well done keep it going 👍
Thank you! Very much appreciated 😊
What about the cameras of Poco f4 gt in comparison to one plus 9rt
I wouldn't know 😅, I've never had the chance to check out the OnePlus 9RT
Goods pa rin ba sya for daily use? Nagiinit ba sya kahit fb or yt lang?
Wallpaper link please
I bought this phone last week. I'm so happy with this phone except the very fast and strong specs it's so smooth and software experience is so good. A lot of good features on it. It feels like my OnePlus 7 when I bought. So happy I really recommend this.
Hey thanks for dropping in your experience with the F4 GT, this will surely help out those looking to get this 😃
Dose it over heat when gaming
@@13thdarkness3 not as much as you say oh its cooking. After 30 minutes of hard gaming it gets hot like every other phonr
hey, what about throtling? do you experience it? cause i see a coment on top talking about big throtling
@@sergiuciobanu1038 after few months of use I didn't experience that. I'm so happy with it.
Does the phone still warm up if the graphics are medium in Genshin and CODM?
technically no, as a matter of fact it is quite surprising that it heats up more when playing cod mobile - battle royale. Though, my opinion remains the same, the room temperature may also have an impact with extended gameplay.
I tried playing genshin impact in a not so high setting, and i was able to play as much as 1-2 hours without feeling any heat (this of course also merits the fact that I had a case on).
😍😍👍
Please tell me.... Poco 4f gt or redmi k50 gaming?
I guess it just depends on what is available in your area that service centers would cater to.
K50 gaming and poco f4 gt both are the size thing just k50 gaming was only release in china and poco f4 gt was release globally also poco f4 gt have a amoled display n k50 gaming have oled display.
Is it still worth to buy the POCO F4 GT at this time?
Yes, this is still a flagship, even come 2023, if the newer flagships do release a new smartphone that has the new 8 gen processor, it'll just be more or less 30% faster, and the F4 GT will still be a lot faster than most smartphones and affordable so it is a yes.
planning to buy poco f4 gt hindi ba cya nag ccrash or overheat after mo maglaro ng mtgal or 2hrs+
How about greentint?..because i so worry to Buy poco f3 or poco f4 gt
For gaming
I actually haven't noticed any green tint even when I was using the F3 last year
gaming wise, i can play any graphic intense game in max setting, no green tint issue.
can you recommend me ... buy poco f3 or poco f4 gt?
if you're tight on the budget but still wants to be able to play games on a mobile device for the next 2-3 years without the care of software updates - POCO F3.
If you have the budget for it, and want the latest and greatest, go for the F4 GT, it's really an easy recommendation in contrats to other flagship devices that has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in it.
I have a problem on my Poco f4 gt, the battery drains fast even if the phone is not being used.
This is actually dependent on how you have configured it.
My F4 GT on a single charge can easily last a day to a day and a half, however I had to make some changes with the display setting, refresh rate, running apps etc.
@@chrisispoint What are they? Thx.
@@chrisispoint that is actually my main concern as well about this model, too many people mentioning how fast the battery gets drained, how did you manage to avoid that?
@@OHomemquecalculava like mentioned on the previous comment, it really depends on how you configure the device.
Some people go for the vivid or saturated display, mine is set to sRGB, it's not recommended for a lot of people, but it works for me.
I usally turn off the high refresh rate since not a lot of games support the high refresh rate and even if it does, it's not exactly degrading the overall gaming experience so I just tend to leave it off or set to standard.
So by doing these things, it lowers the consumption, but you still get the full performance of the device when playing games 🙂
I'm pretty sure the Poco F4 GT will have a lot of throttling. Any tips?
I actually mentioned this in the video in case you missed it. The throttling only happens when you're gaming at maximum performance setting and is in a rather hot environment.
But in places that are cold, it won't, and even if it does, you won't notice it as much, in contrast to a device that is using a snapdragon 888 for example.
@@chrisispoint Thank you so much, You are very reliable tech channel !
@@chrisispoint one more question BTW, I am planning on getting the cheaper Poco f4 gt. Will it slow it down?
This I can't comment on since the F4 GT that I reviewed was the 12 GB/ 256 GB Variant, though if you're gonna base things on how the RAM and the processor work, 8GB is still pretty above average to which case I don't think would give you a bad experience at all.
You'll probably see a different with load times with apps and will multi-tasking, but as far as having to see a dip in speed in general, I don't think so.
i have the f4 gt, playing games at just medium is perfectly smooth and i happy with it. no overheat issue. i choose performance > graphics
does this over heat too much?
Nope, for regular day to day use with gaming and all no. I did discuss this in the video.
@@chrisispoint thanks a lot i saw video but i think i didn't pay attention
BS4 12-256 or F4 GT?
Depends are we looking to compare them in terms of price or which over heats first?
If it is going to be overall gaming performance, the edge will be with the F4 GT
but if you're partaining to which is less prone to overheating, then your best bet would be the Black Shark 4
poco f4 gt or xiaomi 12 pro???
what are you after, photography or gaming? Both are flagships but cater to different markets.
Gawa po ulit kayo review gaming gamit data and gaming gamit wifi sabi nila mas mabilis daw uminit yung phone pag gamit data
I was watching this video on Poco F1, I think it's time to upgrade.
The time is now ☺️
@@chrisispoint I just bought it today, it is amazing!
Awesome! Game on my friend 🤘🏻
F4 gt or s21 ultra?
This is actually a rather strange comparison.
The F4 GT is designed for gaming.
The S21 Ultra for photography.
If we're talking raw power specifically then you're better off with the F4 GT, but if camera is your main focus, then S21 Ultra it is.
@@chrisispointthanks for response.i was getting a s21 ultra refurbished but exynos basically same price as of f4 gt. So wanted to know which one to go for.
If you plan on playing games, don't go for the Ultra. I got an S21 Ultra back in 2021 thinking Exynos has gotten better, which technically did, but falls short when it comes to gaming.
Everything else performs just as good as the snapdragon counterpart except on the gaming aspect.
@@chrisispoint i am not a gamer myself but would be more interested in photography and i have seen videos where exynos is behind than snapdragon in that aspect. Is it that way?
If it's photography wise, the only time it shows the inferiority (at least when I was using it) was when I was rendering videos on the S21 Ultra.
But photography wise, this remains subjective. To some people it may not look good but to others it may, so this part you're gonna have to see for yourself.
Generally the camera on the s21 Ultra takes better photos on any 2022 camera-centric device, but if you're gonna nitpick you're gonna have to try it out and see for yourself, that's the safest way to go about it, honestly speaking 🙂.
How's the battery life?
And how long does it last gaming pls?
Actually battery life, despite not having a 5,000-6,000 mAh battery is surprisingly well, can easily last 1-2 days on a single charge with light to moderate use.
The charger in the box lives up to the hype, 17-20 minutes from 0-100%
Gaming wise, this will depende on the graphic setting
Does it overheat??
With day to day use no, but if you push it too much like for example set it to 120 hz, max brightness max everything, and you're in a rather hot room and run bench mark tests it will overheat, but with gaming alone no.
It doesn't thermal throttle but I recommend you use a case because the Aluminum frame gets really hot when you're playing graphically intensive games in the heat. The Philippines is hell rn...
@@cheezesauce8971 totally agree on on this, it rains sometimes in Metro Manila, but once done the heat is quite intense, so unless you're in an airconditioned room, you will feel it heat up especially without a case on
@@chrisispoint I already bought the rog 5s earlier this morning since it's available at the nearest mall in my area it's AWESOME
@@t-90islife95 the 5s is awesome too, I believe this is the slightly upgraded version of the ROG 5 from last year, I was actually planning to get this too earlier this year.
Maybe try Genshin Impact on gaming phone next time, it's the best stress test on any mobile gaming phone.
Ayos!
I have a problem with the floating windows in this particular device, it just says no apps available all the time.
Give it time, all I can say. I too had experienced some minor glitches after the 30 day use, but nothing major to piss me off, I'm sure a software update would do the trick 🙂
what is the best option, paying 30€ more for this one or the POCO X5 pro 8/256gb
at this point in time, i'd probably go for the F5 instead.
Thanks for amazing review!
2:50 Wait. You can't use triggers to launch camera? Can you use them to take photos in Camera app at least? Are there shortcuts at all with them?
Technically you can launch the camera with the triggers, but you can't use the trigger as a shutter button when taking photos 😉
As for shortcuts there are a few that you can do with pop up triggers which you can configure on both to do different things.
@@chrisispointthank you for swift reply. Can you use volume rocker as a shutter in camera?
Imho software is more important with modern smartphones than hardware. Samsung S22 U is better than this phone, because all the functions are more fleshed out
Volume rocker for the shutter key: Yes, and I'd agree that the S22 is better, especially the camera department.
Then again, this is a gaming phone, so it's sort of in a different category of flagship phones.
You can use it while holding the trigger if you set that trigger for camera :>
@@chrisispoint s22 is trash
I transitioned to this phone from the Samsung a02s… I’m so happy rn. This one’s crazy for its price!
That's quite the upgrade! ☺️
Which is better black shark 5 (not pro ) or Poco f4 gt
Sorry but you forgot the extreme heat... If it is dedicate for gaming should be more fresh... So i desagree
Not really sure about the "Extreme Heat" you speak off, but I did mention what I did during the gaming test.
@@chrisispoint i'm 100% sure about the heat because i have the phone. So i do not recommend to buy it for gaming, and its a shame because it supposes that it was made that for.
Sorry to hear you encountered such, though I wouldn't generalize. At least to my experience using this device as a daily driver, probably the only instance it would heat up is if graphics is maxed out and all the display settings is cranked up and the room temp or where you are playing is humid to hot then for sure it'll heat up, but in colder enviroments, I didn't experience the "Extreme Heat".
@@chrisispoint is not only me, search it on internet man... I play in a cold environment. It happens after 20 min of playing, the heat its over 44c and its not normal.
@@anthonnyY30That's a lot of bull everyone on the internet was saying the same about the oneplus 9 and 10 when they first came out and it prevented me from buying but then my friend bought one and he's a heavy gamer and it was just fine and we live in the caribbean where the place is hot all the time just don't play outdoors, as long as you're in front a fan or in a AC room you're good
Poco F4 GT or Samsung A73, which one is better in camera category? And which one got the better software support?
Honestly speaking in terms of "software support", this will probably fall under your own personal experience.
Though Samsung did say most of their devices released in 2022 will have 3-4 years of software updates while POCO didn't exacty specify.
Camera wise, another subjective category, we all know the staple Samsung has built when it comes to the camera though I personally can't comment as I have not tested the A73 personally, but with the POCO F4 GT, picture taking is highly above average but the highlight is the 40k 60FPS as it is very rare for other brands to get that 40k 60 FPS execution very well.
Battery back up?
battery back up for what?
I mean it's non-removable sooo??
Are you using default or 60hz refresh rate?
Sometimes yes, sometimes I leave it at 120Hz, though in most cases I just leave it on Dynamic.
@@chrisispoint pag po ba nag lalaru ka naka airplane mode ka? Maximum heat n na kukuha mo po? 40? Then bababa na?
8/128 lng sken.
I feel like the POCO F4 GT is a unnecessary lesser version of the Black Shark 5 Pro. I wish they would have spent more time on the Black Shark, giving it IMX 787 lenses with optical stabilization, dual built in cooling fans, popup front camera with 4K 60 FPS recording, a large 7 inch 4K AMOLED 165 hertz display, 6000 mAh dual cell battery, 18 GB RAM and a 1 TB storage, to make the Black Shark the king of gaming phones.
I'd agree to your comment to a certain extent wherein they would come up with an all in one package type deal, however that's now how the brand works, along with Xiaomi and Redmi, each brand caters to different regions which explains their approach of releasing different variants for each market, but I do agree of them having to make the ultimate gaming phone for as a Global unit.
