I am a third year Level 7 Solicitor Apprentice but I am four years into my apprenticeship journey with an international law firm. I go to university every Monday and work full-time in the team’s Civil Litigation and Commercial Dispute Resolution team Tuesday - Friday. I am due to qualify in 2024.
I want to share my non-traditional legal journey to qualification and give aspiring lawyers an insight into my life as a solicitor apprentice.
I have lots of videos planned, including: how I obtained my apprenticeship, my personal journey and apprenticeship application tips! Please be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss them! Don’t hesitate to comment any content requests below.

As someone who is doing an apprenticeship in public health it’s great to see how other sectors go about delivering their apprenticeships.
loved watching this! so nice to see someone so passionate about their job❤️
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed watching x
I'm currently at uni doing a completely unrelated degree and considering a paralegal apprenticeship or something similar once I graduate, so this video has been really helpful, thank you! It's great to hear the experience and opinions of someone my age who has already gone through that level of training.
You are so welcome!
Sooo helpful 🙌🏻 can’t wait to start my apprenticeship next year
Best of luck!
Yes this was such a cool video! Loved this 💕
I am so glad! Thank you for watching
Bro this sounds amazing imma totally do this
&& the us do offer apprenticeships! it’s just a little bit different. only 7 states (california, vermont, virginia, washington, new york, maine, & wyoming) offer them. and the apprentice only allow you to practice law without going to law school. you still have to take the bar & get your bachelors. also, the apprenticeships here are rare since you have to get a qualified lawyer (who’s been working at the firm for least 3-5 years) to allow you to shadow them! (also it differs from state to state) hope this helps
Very interesting!!
@naturallyanii898 is there an age limit for apprentices sp can u do them im ur late 20s or 30s even 40s
Keep it coming love the content
Thank you! Will do!
Yay Maia 🔥🔥🔥
Hey! You’re giving such a great insight in to legal apprenticeships, I’ve just submitted an application & undergoing another so any advice from you would be great!
I’d like to ask, how do holidays work throughout the year? As its both a full time job and carrying out a degree.
Thanks so much! X
Best of luck! We get the same amount of holiday allowance as any other standard employee of course with the additional days for studying/exams. X
@@MyLegalCareer i wanna know about business apprenticship
Wow your videos are amazing
So kind thank you
The big topic today is the UK's budget 2024. It's five hours of parliamentary hearing. Say, do you have any popcorn? Would you like to watch it together with me? Every time someone mentions 'Labour,' I'll give you a kiss. And every time someone talks about 'British hardworking people,' you take off one of your clothes!
🙌
hi! just discovered your channel considering i want to get into human rights law would you recommend an apprenticeship or uni (i really want to do an apprenticeship but i dont know if its a risk)
i’m in the same position! let me know what you find out
Hello, i was just wondering are most castings on the weekends instead of weekdays because most people do 9-5’s? x
Just watched your two freshly-minted invaluable contents and loved them.. keep uploading and enlighting us about legal apprenticeships and/or 'The Ife of a 'Solicitor_Apprentice'
Ive been searchin about legal apprenticeships jst recently and came across your channel. Now, the question I have in mind is that, is it possible to apply for an apprenticeship vacancy for interntantional bachelor's graduate/foreigner? If so, what type of firms should I research and apply to?
Goodluck on your journey and godbless your beautiful soul, dear xx
Thank you very much for the lovely words! Unfortunately I can’t be of much help in relation to your question as I’m not sure! I imagine that there would be no issues in applying. Perhaps email a firm’s early recruitment team and ask?
@@MyLegalCareer thanks for replyin' you gorg. Well, I am updating and drafting my CV atm just in case they might ask for it. The truth is I haven't email any of the law firms yet but I've been networking and attending such relevant events wt ULaw. Anyways, I'll definitely just get name and CV out there to enquire.
is the maths and English test hard? And what are the best alevels to do?
Hi, so basically lets say I become a qualified solicitor through apprenticeship and then I want to become a barrister, Can I do that?
Do you get a choice of modules? There has to be some breadth in law.
hey! do you think i could become a apprentice? i live in the us
Do you get funding if you already have a degree?
If this isn’t too personal before you started the apprenticeship did you live in london before and do you think without uni loans it’s possible to live in london and complete this apprenticeship
If you're willing to sleep in a room within a shared house and eat from food banks then probably. Otherwise you'd need help.
What grades did you get in your Alevels? and what grades would you need to secure a legal apprenticeship? Xx
I'm sure you've done your research by now but commenting incase anyone else wants to know: paralegal apprenticeships (generally) require CCC at A Level minimum, and Solicitor Apprenticeships (usually, but depends) require BBB/ABB, if you do a paralegal, you can still get onto a solicitor apprenticeship, only a year later (shave a year off)
I wanted to know how liveable is the 12-20k that they give a year how would you pay rent, bills etc on such a small salary? Are you allowed to live in accommodations because your still in uni just working alongside it? I’m confused because the apprenticeships I’m applying for are all far from my home
I've had the same question for weeks now
I do a legal apprenticeship, and you normally just stay at home for it, there is so accommodation as uni is usually done online - so there is no rent or bills to pay
Hyyy nice videos i want to ask if you can get an apprenticeship if you are an intenational student
What happens if you don’t pass one of your exams?
We are allowed one resit which is capped at 40%!

Can u apply to an apprenticeship as an international student ?
Same question. Did you get an answer? Thank you!
Hey! I’m a mature student with three kids considering an apprenticeship, what are the hours like? For both work and study I mean. Would this be feasible for someone in my position?
You need good gcses and good A levels
It's definitely going to be very demanding, depending on the ages of your kids, but it's feasible.
@@yorukaadams940 thank you for replying 😌
hi i know i’m late sorry but i was wondering what age did you start at xx
17! X
