I choosing between law/paralegal, accounting, and tech. Tech has become too saturated and now everybody wants 5+ yrs experience. There's an accounting shortage so that works in my favor. Legal is something I wanted become when I was little. When I was 8 yrs old I told people I wanted to go to school to be lawyer. After watching this video I'm leaning towards pursuing a legal career.

Hey. Question. I'm thinking of doing the Certificate, seeing as I've already done university with a BA degree. However, I hear the diploma is more valuable. What do you think?
Hi! Thanks for watching! I believe a certificate would be best in addition to your degree. A degree holds more weight to a law firm than a diploma, especially if it’s a legal related degree. A diploma is best for someone without a degree. If your degree isn’t related to the legal field you can still find a paralegal job by showing of your other skills such as organization. Most jobs provide on the job training anyway because each firm is rain differently and use different programs. A diploma is nice but not necessary since you’ve already completed 4 years of school. Thats like getting an associates (the “diploma”) after already having your bachelors. A certificate can be more specialized in a firms need (Ex: legal research). Hope this helps xo

I’m curious about immigration law, but this was still interesting. I wish you good luck in your journey.
Okay! I graduate in October 2024 and I am not sure how to get my career started. I will have an associate degree in paralegal legal studies and plan to continue with legal studies to obtain my bachelor's degree. My confidence is there, and my knowledge is growing every day. I just need to figure out how applications and interviews go. That is why I am here.
Thanks for watching!
I’m a communications major interested in becoming a paralegal.
Same here!
You are brilliant! Thank you for sharing!
Peace.
I'm probably one of the few black men doing this, so I feel compelled to write. I am a Business Law major at Arizona State University and I'm taking a paralegal certificate program, both of which are online. In my market, Pittsburgh, it seems like they want you to have gone through a program. I've applied to several entry-level positions that offered training. I have had no luck getting a position. I would vlog but I don't have the time. My goal is to become a Real Estate Attorney or M&A, just so long as I'm doing some sort of business law. I don't want to go into civil litigation. Great video. If you want to make decent $ and don't mind doing research, this is for you. Be easy!
"I work from home"....however...."I don't take my work home with me". LOL j/k, great insight, thank you
😂😂😂
My story is long, but your video really helped me. I was in undergrad for premed But thankfully my school was liberal arts so I was able to to explore other files. Right after graduating I found my first job as a pharmacy tech thinking that’s what I wanted to do. But realized I didn’t like it and got me so depressed because I had to see people becoming addicted to their meds and realized something was really wrong with our society and how we medicate homelessness. So I changed my career and went back to school I found a a MA program in human rights. Now i am finding my way to enter this field taking a paralegal course online
Thank you I’m in the process of getting my life together
i’m only 40 seconds in rn but the way she said “if you like the video great and if not it’s whatever ✋🏽” 😂😂 too cute i like her already
I just felt like you were talking right to me. Thanks for this video! Lots of good info
Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
Just found your channel and you have such a vibrant personality!! I was like ooo I would love to be her friend! lol. Thank you for this content! definitely hopeful as I'm looking into the paralegal field!!! Thank you!
Aww Thank you girl 💕 good luck with everything!!
Girl! I love your energy! My new friend!
I am surprised to hear you’re an exempt employee. I wonder if that’s still the same as of today. Traditionally paralegals are hourly. And should be to earn their overtime! Great video!
You are so pretty! 😍 Come on Silk pajamas! Lol 👌🏽👌🏽
Love how your room is decorated too
I always wanted to be a lawyer but that’s never going to happen. I didn’t even know a paralegal was a thing until Suits and now I’m interested 😅
Glad i found this video, ive yarned the entire time made me realize i need to stick to nursing
Absolutely love the video because we have the same plan!

I think its great you are able to leave work at work.... I lost that ability after year 3 and im on year 8 now... lol
Thank you so much for sharing your story! That was really awesome.
Thanks for watching ! 🥰🥰
I'm a displaced worker from a work accident that left me with a disabled leg and no ability to be in manual labor anymore. So I'm looking at this degree as a replacement experience.
Hey beautiful. So, you can do legal apprenticeships is VA, CA, WA and VT. Which means, no law school, Just hands on learning. I also want to be an attorney and am looking into paralegal work to gain knowledge, experience and a heads up on my competitors when applying to the programs.
Thank you for sharing. ❤
You are so welcome ❤️
By the way loved this video ♥️♥️
I am getting a degree in criminal justice and then wanting to do this !
Thank you, this really helped me feel like my decision was the right one! I switched my major from communications and I too loved and wasn’t bad at law when I took those classes. Definitely made me decide to switch and think about what I want long term and what kind of job I’d like.
Thanks for watching. ❤️ Stay blessed and prosperous.
Girl you need to be my best friend lol much love be blessed you inspire me deeply!!! 👩🏻🎓💕🙏
Aw thank you girl! You're awesome, thanks for watching!
fashion major here (I'm a junior) but I was originally political science + had some internships in law firms + at the state house. I feel like I could become a paralegal with my experience if I continue to grow my paralegal experience right now
I also want to be a paralegal befpre becoming an attorney. Thank you for the video and insight!
Great video!
Thank you!
I want to be a paralegal assistant but I want training first before I apply
I’m creating a training program that should be released very soon 😉
Omg you are my inspiration! However I’m already over 30 years old and wanted to become a paralegal, do you think I’m too old for it?
absolutely not! never too late!
Thank you I think I may go ahead 🤗
No, I am 35, almost 36. I have so many barriers in from of me. My first language is Spanish. I just got my high school equivalent, of course in English. But the biggest one, cant really tell you. You got this!
Not at all. Same here.
I always wanted be a lawyer, I’m too old now (I’m 43)😩But I love the law! I love the debates /arguments etc lol. I am researching to become a Paralegal now. Grateful for your transparency on this career subject. My only fear is not being hired (due to no Paralegal experience. I am terrified of that).
Thank you, Hugs!🤗
JM
I got a video for that 😉! Thanks so much for watching!
I saw a comment under a video today and there was a gentleman that is 72 in Law School… I think it’s safe to say you’re not 😊
@Lastdayone I'm 41 and I thought I was too old as well ...I figure as long as I still have blood pumping thru my veins...its NEVER too late for ANYTHING!!!!
I'm trying to choose my next career.
Love this video!!! Are you still planning to become a lawyer in the future ?
Yes!
1.) Deadlines, 2.) Attention to Details.
This was encouraging and discouraging lol. I work with numbers, accounts payable. But I feel that the pressure to push things through to be paid and the way we have to process tends to create errors on my end. I feel like I would be good at it because of my background but I have to work on not getting flustered when I'm overwhelmed etc...basically get out of my head!
I have been a paralegal for 28 years. I have done criminal defense, was a Social Security Disability Representative, Personal Injury, and now litigation defense. Although this field will, to some degree, improve your standard of living, there is no future in it. Lawyers are pampas a$$holes.....especially PI attorneys who lie, steal, and have a generally low degree of character. Think hard before jumping into this field. If I could take it all back, I would have built a business so to avoid being an undervalued slave.
Thank you ma’am!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Your situation in selecting a major is pound for pound my dilemma now.
First it wash computer science but numbers… not my BFF, I am looking in to Criminal Justice now…
I love your channel new subscriber here !
I graduated 2018 I've had my business for 2 yrs I do my own workfor self as a pi combination I'm 40 now my birthday is November so people try get over criminal law and procedures so I can give the entire
love love love!!! thank you so much for the video.... how long did it take you to become a paralegal ?
Hey! Thanks for watching! It took two months post undergrad but i can make a video detailing the process. 😊
@Queen
Can you please make a video detailing the process? I start my program in two weeks. Thank you.
You are beautiful.
There are a couple of routes you can go if you’re looking for something quick try enrolling into an accelerated paralegal certificate program (few months- 1 year). Certificates are usually quicker to obtain vs an associates degree but you can go the associates route as well which takes about 2 years. Just try to make sure the program is ABA accredited.
@@Queenieurbane yessss i'd love that !
@@BaddieLo95 got it thank you!!
Does paralegal courses teach you how to prepare divorce and bankruptcy paperwork?
It depends on the course
Great video. Thanks 😊.
I am 39, is it too late for me to start a journey as a paralegal.
It’s never to late 💖
Which firm are you doing your paralegal please? I’m looking for business/corporate paralegal jobs too?
Thank you!!!!
I’m looking to become a paralegal. I am a little nervous on starting into this field. Because I am hearing so much things between going to school for it and getting my associate’s degree or an apprenticeship. Not too sure if I should go into a paralegal studies program at my community college…anyone can give some advice?
thanks for the video. I am about to start my certificate in Jan!
I have been looking for a legal assistant position for 2 months. I think my accent is a problem 😔
I just need a stable career until I reach my actual dreams and desires. Dats it!🤷🏾♀️
Amen ❤️! Thanks for watching ❤️
Can you show us how you use excel on your end?
Could you do a video on how you use excel sheets?
Hey.
@@Queenieurbane so for example, my friend's degree is a BA in History and would like to further pursue Paralegal Certificate. Is that degree useful as "legal resesrch" in your opinion?
I have an interview for a paralegal position on Monday with no law experience 😬 anything I can do to prepare for it?
How did it go?!? ❤️
Thanks for this detailed video! I’m considering this path and have been debating it do you feel you need your Undergrad for it or can you do a paralegal program separately?
Like an associates**
Hi! Thanks for watching, this depends on the type of job you are looking and it's requirements. I have a new video on my channel discussing this in greater details. :) You got this!
Currently going to school to major in the medical field i don’t think it is the right fit for me.
Thinking about paralegal
So much good information thank you very much
No knocking people who have degrees they worked hard for the degree, like myself!
Just here to be Gwen Sullivan #Incontempt ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Question. Do you think it’s advisable to move to another state immediately after graduating and getting your degree in paralegal studies
Hi! Thanks for watching! I would say start researching your desired speciality field (corporate, criminal justice, gov. Etc) prospects in the area you interested in and if everything look good and doable(pay, living cost, transportation, etc), absolutely! I relocated for my job.
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing. I’m going to school now and considering this field. Do you have tips for leaving work at work. I would like to get better at that. My job is very stressful. Also if you could share more or less what a starting salary per year is. I would really appreciate. Thank you
Hey I’m new to your channel ☺️ what is the name of the song playing at the beginning of your video?
hii, i just graduated with my bachelor's and now am looking for paralegal jobs! do you have any advice on how to get a job right out of college with no prior experience? I feel as if all organizations that currently hiring are wanting experience, but as a new graduate it's hard to have that experience. What was your process of actually getting hired?
Hi! I am in your same position and wanted to see if you have any tips/advice and if it worked out for you now 1 year since you first commented this. Sorry if it is weird, feel free to ignore this. Hope everything worked out for you! :)
Would love to see more real work attire for fashion
I have some videos coming boo!
Yes I love this ! I switched my major from Biology to well just taking prerequisites just to see what major I like more. I want to go in as an attorney for businesses, so pretty much corporate. My cousin is a civil law attorney and she said that it would help if I got a job becoming a paralegal or a legal assistant. I’m in the process of getting my associates but will it be worth it to just get my paralegal certificate? I’m so confused on how to go about this..
Get your associates degree in criminal justice abs you could still become a paralegal with they degree. You wouldn’t have to get your certificate
Are u in canada?
I'm in New York, thanks for watching!
