Social Work is also an outdated field and it is one of the reasons why I am questioning whether to continue working in the social work field, hence me watching this video 😭
Thank you so much! Didn’t major in anything in university. Our system is a little different here in Quebec. We have a two year pre-uni program after high school and then you can go straight into law school!
I do! I just think you need to take the time to find a way to practice law that fits with how you want to live life. Also, people tend to decide to go into law based on certain expectations of how the profession is and those expectations don’t always turn out to match the truth.
Practicing would be fine I suppose without the clients, opposing counsel, and judges. I would never recommend the practice to anyone and would never support anyone choosing to go to law school. The 90s turned it corporate, and the boomers refused to provide mentorship. The rules don’t apply until they do, and post-2001/2002 recession flooded the market with lawyers. You don’t make never enough to compensate for the stress and monotony. Status is garbage. Frankly, I don’t find much positive with the practice. Being great at something terrible doesn’t go a long way to making the practice worth it. Avoid the law.
Hey their hope you doing fine. Need some advise from you. I will be moving to calgary in coming months and will start look for articling position in law firms. I am little confused as what type of clothes I should buy. Could you please tell me few basic clothes I should get which will work for both interview as well as for articling. Thanks a ton.
At least you care I have a first cousin who apparently will not return my phone call and he is the I'll just say these he's the assistant City attorney for a very large city and his mother was part of thievery and stealing money from my mom and it's in the will that she was supposed to get a certain amount and it is just totally ignored and she never got it and she was sweet enough not to push push push and end up doing a lot of good things with her life and sadly she recently died and I'm just horrified that people could steal and really change my mother's whole life and our family because of the thievery and at least you care unlike my first cousin at least you actually care enough to
Hi i want two be a lawyer when i grow up right now im thinking of be coming a corporate lawyer or an crime lawyer and family but im not sure yet. So watching your videos makes me feel like a lawyer right away.
I feel like it will help your motivation in the long run if you decide from early which area you’d want to practice in. But i know that is tough knowing which you’d want seeing you dont have any work experience as a secretary or paralegal I assume. My advice is go be a legal secretary or paralegal first for a year or more. See if you really like it, then take the step to law school. Cheers!
@@mercedeshenley6356 nah ah, mercedes henley stop with your toxicity. The fact that she rambled in this video does not lead to the logical conclusion that that is the reason why she’s not a litigator. Your thoughts are unreasoned and superficial at best.

Lawyer here and your points are spot on.
Thank you for watching!
Love the honest!!!
Thank you for watching!
*Honesty
The stress of taking on someone's case that could change their life is sooo heavy 😅
Not really laughing as someone who needed my attorneys and they failed.

How is it an outdated field?
Well at least you're helping ppl.
hi! i love your videoo!! btw, what major did you take for university?

For me, the anxiety is a full stop. I could not go through life anxiety-ridden over my job. Thanks for your candor.
Agreed. I already have general anxiety which makes me anxious over pointless things, I couldn’t bare the added anxiety from this job every single day.
My goal before to be a lawyer, but not anymore. It’s a depressing job.
It definitely can be! What career path are you looking into now?
So ..? What was it ..?
What do you do now?
Great video.
You subvert a lot of the stereotypes around lawyers, at least the stereotypes I have.
I absolutely get it! Three lawyers in the family, all diverse specialties. Couldn't find more honest people.
I laughed so hard at the fax in a reply to an email!’
Can you imagine my face when it happened? 😂
do you recommend the law to those considering a career in it?
I do! I just think you need to take the time to find a way to practice law that fits with how you want to live life. Also, people tend to decide to go into law based on certain expectations of how the profession is and those expectations don’t always turn out to match the truth.
What about divorce cases. Partners fighting like cats. You go crazy or you feel like laughing your ass of
really helpful for my law school assignment thank you!

You don’t never? Sounds like this is the opinion of a person who is NOT a lawyer.
@@mercedeshenley6356 i am in my final year of law school and i mirror his opinion wholeheartedly. Trust me, he’s not lying, nor is he misinformed.

@Yusuf Maybe just be patient…Good things comes to those who wait!
i love how you give examples for everything in such a succinct and thoughtful way
A lawyer here too . At 1030am i will also start thinking that the day is over .
Can you say the other outdated practices?
Lawyers are most trust worthy. 👌
The whiteboard behind your head has me curious…. 😂
It’s not a whiteboard it is a Jean Michel Basquiat canvas
It was worth going to law school so she can make these videos
Rambling a lot throughout this video.
That’s why she isn’t a litigator.

Sign of a quick mind. Plus, she works with creatives. Understandable.
