Hello all and welcome to this speed test comparison between the Apple iPhone 15 and Pixel 8A in this episode we will compare both phones by putting them through a variety of tests to help you see which one is actually faster. iPhone 15 features an Apple A16 Bionic Chip, 6GB of ram, and iOS 17.5. The Pixel 7A features a Tensor G3 processor, and 8GB of ram, and also comes with Android 14. @@nickackermanchannel Yeah Nick, but if we're looking at a company of Apple's size they can easily ramp it upto 120, if Google can offer 7 years, 120hz and the flagship chip in its midrange device so can Apple in its base flagship device.

My iPhone 12 Pro Max geekbenched at 2165 single core and 5198 on multicore. It’s not too far behind the regular 15’s results.

Nothing Phone 2 is the most fluid device I ever used.
i think the stuttiring ist there because the 8a has a variable refreshrate it can go low as 60hz 60hz up to 120hz but you can turn it off and it will be fixed 120hz..ive had the 7a but it was a toaster -.- i love google more but i have a iphone 15 now and im happy everthing works fine no lags or stuttering
@@christianguerrero2622 Most apps are coded for IOS and then brought to Android. Yes obviously those stutter on other operating systems compared to an Iphone. Some are better optimized, some less. The one thing i noticed after using my pixel 7a/8a and my Iphone 13 alternately is that the gestures do work better on Pixel. Your swipes have to be waay more precise on IOS (Im always trying to swipe back from the right side on Iphone now, cuz i got used to it on pixel)
How does the input lag differ between the two phones?
I wonder how the pixel will do after prolonged use. My P7 auto dims everyday. I live in south Texas and I think it's too hot here.

Imo 120Hz alone doesn't make sense without a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The bezels on the Pixel 8a look like iPhone 11 bezels to me.
I think the Pixel 8a is a $300.00 phone being sold at $500.00-$550.00 because iPhone SE 2024 isn't out yet.
Makes sense to compare the 8a to the iPhone 14 as they can be found for the same price if you shop around.

@@portman8909 Agree, they just should have added higher refresh rate screen to all models from 14 going forward, as it is one of those rare features, that actually makes a huge difference once you get used to it.
Agreed. My gaming monitor is 165 hz and the one I used 10 years ago also was 144hz. I've been using high refresh on PC for a long time so it'd be nice to have on a mobile. Is it a complete deal breaker? No, but smoother is always better for the eye!@@stjepan_8902

Honestly for 300 dollars less with marginal performance sacrifices the Pixel 8a is definitely a steal, I'd take it any day over the iPhone. Too bad it isn't available in my country, closest thing we got is the Nothing Phone 2a. 120hz and the openness of Android would probably be the main dealbreakers. Overall the only concern I could find with the Pixel 8a is the gaming performance (unfortunate in my case) but I doubt most would be getting that phone for gaming.
Though, getting the Pixel 8 or even 8 Pro would be better as some people have mentioned before for only 100-200 dollars more but in time it's probably gonna be the best deal in the market.

Hey,is anyone else here having an issue with Instagram not showing their correct password in iCloud Keychain? It’s fine on facebook itself but Instagram is mixing up my Facebook password with my instagram password. Hi, Nick. I love your videos! Just a humble request: Could you please upload your videos in 4K-60FPS? As in 2024, all of us love to watch videos in 4K and HDR quality with higher frame-rates. Watching speed test videos in 1080p-30FPS feels a bit unsatisfying and unjust. I would love to consume your content in 4K-HDR-60FPS for a more authentic, accurate and superior experience.

As much as I dislike 60hz on the iPhone, the Pixel 8a is stuttering so much that it makes me dizzy just by watching in on video. I’d take the iPhone 15 any day.

Nahh bruhh, I have an iPhone 15 pro max. You should have gotten a Samsung A55 or A35, which are much better than Samsung A05, but it really depends on your choice you don't have to tell others what they think of your phone.

Tbh Pixel 8a is the best looking Pixel phone, i intended to buy iPhone 15, but i am not so sure anymore, it is difficult to choose which one to buy, the bezels are a turn off but i guess i could get used to them but many hate on Tensor G3 as it's trash, but the phone is doing great from what i see and the cameras are great as of an iPhone 15.. So i really don't know who's the best for mw
For a 9-core processor, Google's Tensor G3 performance is quite modest. Google needs to learn from Apple, how to make processors.

Tensor G3 may be "modest", but calling it "trash" is nonsense. I use a Pixel 8, which has the same processor. The overall performance is excellent.

I don't know what Google did to the animations in the new pixels and their software, but man... I can see the laggy animations very clearly, they are less smooth than on Apple with 60Hz. I also compared them to my old Pixel 7 (I have an iPhone 15 now) and it's real - Google broke things again. But the scrolling looks much better, that's a fact.
it literally just came out. After a few updates, it'll get a lot smoother.

It automatically switches between 60hz and 120hz when you're not looking at it to save battery. That switch causes a stutter sometimes. it's probably confusing the sensor because he has a camera on it. If you force max refresh rate in the Pixel's settings it basically never stutters.

@@tiberseptim6648 More Mah doesn't always mean better battery life, for example 13 pro max with 4400mah had almost double the screen on time of the s22 ultra that has 5000mah battery.

Yes, comparison with Samsung A55 is unfair, because A55 scrolls with less stutters (despite of all the aditional software and weaker CPU and GPU from Samsung A55)...

Although the iPhone has 60 Hz, look at how the scrolling animation in some applications slows down in the Pixel. The iPhone works through this scenario stably and smoothly 🧐
He needs to force max refresh rate in the settings for the Pixel otherwise it stutters occasionally to try to save battery.

Every review the only thing anyone complains about with the pixel is the bezels. Who cares if the edges are a little thicker? You will have a case on and you won't even notice them.

I have saw the review of pixel 8a and it is not justifying his price tag which is 52,999 in India and does not have one proper space to say that it is a toned down version of pixel 8

Pixel 8a is £499 the 7a is £399 wish Google would release a pixel lite for £299. They could basically repackage the 6a, with 60hz, no wireless charging, no face unlock and the last gen chipset. In fact, as you can see in everyday use, the performance of the 8a is better than the iPhone 15. Social networks load faster. Only in gaming will the iPhone 15 be faster, but who needs that? We've really reached a point where you don't notice the difference anymore. The 8a can also be used well for gaming, and let's be honest, who seriously games on their phone? Daily performance is more important to me, and the Pixel does better in that regard.
Moreover, it has the better display with 120 Hz, which Apple still hasn't managed to achieve. As a result, the operation is much smoother on the Pixel.
Another advantage is that, unlike Apple, Google guarantees 7 years of software updates. With Apple, you can expect around 6 years, but Apple has never given a guarantee, so it's possible that Apple could stop support after just 5 years. Google, on the other hand, has committed to this and is now obliged to uphold it.

Yes that is coming later, I do think price bracket wise that is a closer comparison, but to be fair the tensor G3 debuted on the Pixel 8 Pro
Google needs to go back to Snapdragon. I do not get why they would go to something less powerful. Their old snapdragon phones, still perform well ..
Right now Google has Samsung manufacturing the Tensor chips. But next year for the Tensor G5, TSMC will be making the Tensor chips. This should be a higher improvement.

I have an 8a. I believe Google underclocked the tensor g3 on this model so that it would fit the the price range and not make the 8 look bad. I’m okay with it! I love it so far. I kept my iPhone and will be switching between the two!

Both phones both have two borderline criminal qualities and they both relate to the displays.
Apple giving you a 60hz display in 2024 is absolutely ridiculous. To be fair they always feel faster and more responsive than 60hz displays on Android phones, but with how well the scrolling and overall use the UI is, they could make them feel even better if they opted to 90hz on the standard, or boosted the base model up to 120hz and have the iPhone Pro a 144hz refresh rate. Either way apple prides themselves on the newest and most innovative tech and yet despite the base models becoming more and more popular, they constantly fail to give the customers what they WANT.
