It's crazy how those bezels make the pixel look horrendous. Considering that they're charging $500, I think they could've easily made it significantly thinner.
With the rounded corners it looks like a very old phone
I like the round corners
But the bezels could have at least been even with no chin but whatever the case I'ma grab one
That bay color will look soooo clean with a white or clear case

@@tiberseptim6648 trust me those screen jitters happen way more often than you think. It's a pretty phone but do you want to trade it off for the 15 wonderful screen and reliable performance, I'm an Android guy till death do us part, but pixel, ehn.

People complain SO much about the bezels but I’d rather save $200 because I don’t care about bezels. Not to mention I’m not really a fan of the heavy OneUI skin. My guess on the scroll choppiness is the s24 has been out longer and had a few updates to smooth out the issues where the 8a just came out. Still, I’d rather have stock android any day.
How about having optical zoom lense?
The pixel 8 was literally $499 a few weeks prior to the 8a was listed for sale

Since Samsung has UFS 4.0 and Pixel 8a has UFS 3.1 the S24 should win every startup of apps
UFS 4.0 on Samsung only with 256GB storage and up. 128GB variant has UFS 3.1
You should compare it with the s23 fe Nick, they are both the competitors fot that pricepoint, I think it would be a fair comparison. Nice video tho
Agree, in Australia the 8a and S23 FE are priced the same. The S24 is an extra $350 AUD.
Once samsung applys animation (default) to closing apps and entering the homescreen from the lockscreen its a wrap 🔥

The Tensor G3 is the equivalent of the Snapdragon however its not as efficient in terms of battery life & the memory is slower

How much was your redmi? Unless it was double the price I think your phone is still better than the pixel 8a.

Maybe try re-run the geek bench I get 1953 for single core on my S23
I get 1500 single core on S23FE and 4000 multi GB
S24 with Snapdragon all the way. Bezels, Gorilla Glass 3, modem, SoC, battery life, charging speed, and scroll on Pixel 8A are an abomination.
Abomination might be a bit strong of a word. A decade old phone would be more than adequate for what most people use their phones for. It's like when people pre-order a video game just to get a in-game item that they're not even gonna care about once they start playing the game, they just think it'll make them the cool kid at the time.

Bad day for the S24 and it still won. I've seen single core scores consistently between 2000-2200
Other things to consider though.

I think the reason for the pixel scrolling problem is just the fact that the cpu is not that powerful

Well can't really compare it with S24. If anything pixel is only a bit better than A55.
While the Pixel’s Tensor is not as powerful as the top tier SD chips that doesn’t justify the choppy scrolling. It should be plenty powerful for day to day uses.

Yes, the Snapdragon S24 is better, but the European Exynos version is the same as the Tensor. I dont know why they use Samsung chips. They always have issues like here on the pixel.

I despise the software of Samsung, I bought the Samsung Ultra 24 and changed back to my Pixel 7 just because of the OS. Pixel OS all the way

Google has ther own skin for the Pixel devices. Samsung has Touchwiz on ther Galaxy devices

Pixel is using Rebranded Exynos chipset ! Ask European and Indians about how horrendous are exynos chipset smartphones are from modem to Battery life . Will not buy Another Pixel device until they changed the chipset .
you will have to wait for the output pixel 10, there will be those 3nm TSMC process, and not 4nm samsung, more google start to negotiate with kualk so that they supply their modems 5g google

У Pixel это проблема оптимизации и его скоро исправят ,(вспомните 8 про , который работал очень плохо , а потом стал на уровне iphone 15 Pro Max) , и еще на Google Pixel процессор слабее в 2 раза чем у конкурентов, это тоже проблема, которого не будет на Google Pixel 10 ,
А проблема Samsung в том что у них оболочка тяжелая и оптимизация плохая , если сравнивать с Nothing Phone 2 , который работает идеально, можно сказать Samsung очень плохи 😢
