*CORRECTION TO VIDEO: when discussing the Salacious figure I mentioned I thought it was a straight repack of the original SDCC release. That is false, it is an entirely new sculpt. Was really rushing to get this video out and forgot to verify and fix during editing. Makes me again question Hasbro on the VC numbering 🤔.
So glad this arrived today, so that you could get a review done! An awesome play set IMO. I love the details and the design. The box art is also killer. We got a twofer today with BoF vids! 👍🏽
Nice review, Brett. I am sure @Bossk's Bounty will be happy to see how you had the Throne Room set-up before Jabba arrived. As a long-time collector I passed on this one. I have previous releases of Salacious, 8D8, and Jabba with the dais too. I decided on 2 Blurrgs instead. The set looks great though!
Great review, BOF! Mine also arrived over the weekend. I’m w you: not opening those figures. Will go nicely on the carded wall. Coloring on Jabba is a bit different from the one that came with the barge. Cant wait to load him into my palace. Maybe tonight?!
@@BiggsTVC thanks man! Yeah those are too special in my opinion to open if you only have 1. One is an original 96 and the other is on a mini card. This is my first modern Jabba I own so curious how he compares to others in hand.
So I'm trying to find a brand new vintage collection Chewbacca, 'cause your message implies we just got one. For the life of me I can't find one that just got released.
Quality review, thank you. Didn't pick this up because it doesn't seem a significant enough upgrade to the Walmart version, but I enjoyed seeing your take on it. Thanks.
@@LaurenceQuint thanks Laurence. Is the Walmart version you are referring to the Shadows of the Dark Side version from around 2010? That’s a great one I never got.
Had mine arrive 3 days ago but still haven’t gotten a chance to open it up. But man I absolutely love the artwork, I enjoy admiring the boxes of these TVC playsets and vehicles almost as much as I enjoy the actual figures. I’ll be finding a small case for the salacious as I already have one loose. Can’t wait to set this up with my throne room and Jabbas palace set. Great review!
Awesome, totally agree about the box art, they’ve been nailing it on those lately! Which version of Salacious did you already have loose? See my pinned comment correcting my mistake that Salacious is not a repack, he is a totally new sculpt on this one. Thanks for watching!
@@brettonfett It came in the 1983 Jabba playset accessory baggies with the pipe and bowl too. It has zero articulation but he’ll do. I really wanna keep him carded for now but I’m tempted since he’s newly tooled.
Brett. You only ordered one brother 😂😂😂. Awesome Review as always. The collection you worked on over the years has accumulated into something amazing & is truly incredible man. ❤😊
Great review, Brett! Mine should be here tomorrow and I'm excited to upgrade my Jabba's throne room with this guy. Currently, I'm using the one from 2010 which can melt a bit.
@@MattsCollection oh yeah that 2010 Jabba gets a bit sweaty, lol. But at least you got the best Oola figure ever made with that 2010 set. I still need that one. Thanks for checking it out Matt!
Not a big Jedi or Jabba lover, but some nice and not so nice bits going on here... But, having said that does look good when you place all you figures around it. For me Fennec is not moving one inch off my throne set-up 💪
I don't like the paint apps for Jabba in this version. The Black Series 3.75 Jabba that came with the Rancor Pit is much better. I have that version in my throne room diorama. We have to take away one your Star Wars stripes for not knowing Jabba had huge scar on his tail. LOL! 😉
It's not coming across in this video with how immaculate the paint job is on this one. That TRU exclusive Rancor pit version is the worst out of the three that use this mold. Sail barge one got some improvements (especially getting rid of those white paint lines going down their mouth that do a poor representation of drool), and now this is the definitive 3 3/4" Jabba. Again, videos don't do it justice, and the colouring isn't this saturated in real life.
@@dwaynecuster I got ya. As a major Jabba fan since 3 in '83, I'm definitely curious with what you don't like about the paint apps with the new version. Those dark glossy fat fold lines are definitely heavy-handed...so that's something I don't care for. I'm just more focused on how the tan of the face is more present on this one, the more realistic eyes, and no white lines painted on that represent drool. Letting me know why you like that original one more will help me understand where you're coming from, and I'm all about trying to understand different perspectives...despite my previous comment that says otherwise lol.
@@dwaynecuster It's a damn shame that Figuarts never released their Jabba prototype shown off long ago. I really wanted an ultra articulated 6" scale version (and always passed on the 6" hasbro one). Even if Hasbro made the tail similar to how NECA did the Godzilla tails, that'd be so much better. We just get stuck with the pose they go with. And the Walmart exclusive one, the mechanism in that didn't work worth a shit.
@@gavinjohnson8951 nope. I was thinking the other day it would be cool if someone customized some kind of shelf system with a trap door to a shelf below that had a custom rancor pit. Thanks for watching!
@@gregmartinez6387 good question, I am not 100% sure but I don’t think the Kenner one would fit, I think it is slightly larger and slightly taller. If I am able to confirm I will let you know.
@@aqualishdoug933 thanks man, yeah I was really rushing to get this video out and missed that is a total new sculpt for some reason. They are all over the place with the VC numbering. Thanks for watching!
Hmm I’ll have to look into this, you’re not the first to say he seems too small. If you watch the scene with Bib next to him Bib is definitely taller than Jabba but maybe not as taller as the figure seem next to each other so you may be on to something. Thanks for watching!
Actually if you watch the scene where Luke first meets with Jabba in person and Bib is standing next to Jabba with a full camera view of Jabba, Bib appears to be much taller than Jabba and the scale of the figure actually seems spot on.
