Mate, like your other subs have probably already said, weve all watched plenty of reviews of this Barge. but yours is by far the best one i've seen. Great content and congrats on joining an elite collectors club by having the barge itself.
The interior detail seems to come straight from the Incredible Cross Sections book. The cockpit, jail, kitchen, and armoury are all in there, although the cells are on another deck below the main one. So not from the film, but at least from another official Star Wars source, and it looks like Hasbro has done a fantastic job of recreating them.

Amazing replica for collectors. Nice to see this classic vehicle was finally created for the film. The Jabba scenes are some of the best in the film series. I hope 2022's Obi-Wan series visits Jabba often.
Funny you mention that series. For me it was a real let down. Should have all been set on Tatooine. Lots for Obi Wan to see, do and avoid there. But no, they had to go and "ruin it". Shame, seemed a good idea for a series originally.

Congrats on ownership of such a cool Star Wars vehicle, nicely detailed review and personally the best I've watched on the subject. You covered a lot of ground that other reviews failed to do and the reference video clips were just perfect to accurately narrow down the finer details of the Barge. It's great to hear of one's highlights and lowlights because most reviews try to avoid anything negative about a product and their reviews just end up as show-boating and cheesy. Considering it's price tag, one thing I personally would've wanted Haslab to include in the kit would be a small lighting kit for the interior or perhaps a diorama base for it. I haven't bought one due to it's availability wasn't offering international sales at the time of the promotional deal... ...the size of it, I just don't have the space to display such a massive piece... ...I'm not a collector of action figures of that scale that would accommodate it and the playability features and such will go to waste with it just sitting there on display empty... I can't complain about the cost because I only recently purchased a Bandai PG Millennium Falcon which was around the same price range and is more toward my personal taste. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, new(ish) subscriber and been watching a lot of your content recently. ROTJ is my favourite of all the SW films and I recently obtained a childhood grail - a complete vintage Kenner Jabba + throne. You've inspired me to start collecting Jabba/ROTJ pieces and this barge (and your review of it) are incredible. Shame I missed the boat on this one, this thing is like 4K on the aftermarket here in the UK. I very much doubt this will ever be released again and I also think looking back on this, 500 isn't as bad as was perhaps originally thought! So the best I can do is to watch this video and dream! Thanks again and I will continue to watch your fantastic videos!
Which is why it was crowd funded. The big reason the sail barge never got released in the past was a combination of the size relative to the scale and the cost to make the initial mold. Retail just wouldn't be able to stock enough of them space wise in store to sell them at a friendly consumer price just to recoup the money to make it, much less make a profit. Now that the hard part is over (the mold is made and paid for thanks to the crowd fund) don't be surprised if the Sail Barge sees some sort of limited re-release in the future at a more consumer friendly price (with different packaging and not all the bell whistles it terms of paint apps and extra figures).
as a matter of principal- I'd like to buy one- make a youtube video of me raising a sledgehammer over it- and smashing it to smithereens with the Executive Hasbro toy company people's faces taped to it- that would be a nice stress reliever in my opinion- or maybe just drop one from the Empire State Building-when no one is on the sidewalk below, of course- my camera crew would be there to video it smashing into plastic nano dust from 5 angles
exactly- so I hereby put forth THE GREAT STAR WARS ROTJ *BUILD YOUR OWN* JABBA'S SAIL BARGE CHALLENGE of the CENTURY!!! you can use any material you desire- I would suggest- paper machete -since it is basically newspaper and glue- then you can paint over it- but if you are half way good with wood working- why not build it out of Balsa Wood? Light and easy to saw, shape, and mold- Then you can paint it- but take your time- Cross reference the original scenes from ROTJ to get it as close as possible- and create a few detachable pieces- and movable parts- *(example the easist being- the Cannon shutters - and the interior break apart - to show the party going on in the inside- then install some nice LED micro lighting- and sound chip to play the original music- and put R2-D2 w/ serving tray & drinks- action figure in there with Slave LEia and Jabba- You will be the toast of RUclips if you create a more authentic versin than the over -priced Hasbro Barge-
I’m not a collector or anything like that, just a Star Wars fan. This is a really interesting video to watch, thanks for the amount of detail you’ve gone in to.
Love this vehicle. I do not regret purchasing it at all. It is basically the center piece of my collection. There really is nothing more I would want from it.
I think it’s worth every penny of $400 plus shipping costs which would get it close to $500. So maybe it’s $20-$30 over-priced. I love the Khetanna so much. Too bad all the appropriate figures to display with it have skyrocketed in price, but logistically it would be impossible to keep everything available and in stock.
Very detailed review. These were not available in the uk. One online retailer imported 500 ($750) and they flew off the shelf straight on to eBay. I only found out to late so were selling for $1800 to $2700. I got one last week for over a $1000. Not had time to open it yet. Don't want wifey to find out.
I don't understand those people that buy this and leave it in the box. For $1,500 I would put it on display, get all the figures for it. That is a really nicely done Sail Barge.
Agreed with below--you are easily one of the most thorough and complete reviewers on YT... Wow.. 😳 I don't even collect SW but this review was amazing! Thanks! 👍 😃
Excellent review!!!! Loved how you pointed out all those small details Hasbro included in the barge. What I Really liked was the display with the original figures👍
Thanks for the great look at something I'll never have the pleasure of owning but with this intensive look at it, I get to enjoy it without having to dust it! But seriously, it's a great looking piece, obviously crafted by not only fans of Star Wars, but true fans of creating a great toy. Excellent video!
I watched another review already but had to see what Mighty Jabba thought! :) I have to admit, Hasbro delivered on the details. Thanks for showing all the movie comparisons.
Best review of the sail barge by far. I personally appreciated the comparison of the display between the new vs. vintage figures. My heart is set on the vintage but they both look great. I always look forward to your videos. 👍🏻
I thought they did a pretty close job to the scale of the model. The actual barge was only around 90 feet long, so around maybe 15 action figures in length. Pretty crazy detail. Love the video.
Very nice review. I have watched a few others and they have done well, but not gone so far in depth. I kind of regret not getting one when the pre orders were up, but I was struggling a bit financially then. With the crazy prices on the secondary market, I will probably never have one. Just as well though, because I honestly don't have the space to display it properly.
you should take a picture of the interior with all the panels on with a timed camera or something pointing down to the thrown room i think it would look AWESOME to have similar light as the movie for a bad ass picture of the open inside
Randomly ended up on your video here. Not sure if it’s been suggested but with the Yakface coin- you could probably adjust the coin’s position with a magnet.
I think my barge back in the day was done out of my Legos, and I had my mum help me with some red-orange felt fabric for the sunshades. Small notes - good memories. :)
A bit off-topic, but I worked at 5 Below about 5 or so years ago. They had the Star Wars figures with the retro packaging front and center as soon as you entered. These figures sold like hotcakes and I was always amused when someone would spend an hour scouring through the wheelbarrow that housed the figures. I'm not a massive Star Wars fan, but I always enjoy classic action figures, and those re-released ones really did look fantastic.
For the amount of detailing in this, $500 is a steal. I didn't even know this existed until it was no longer being made, and now on the secondary market they go for 5-6x that amount.
best review so far. I don't have one as the pre order was not available outside of the US. I hope they reissue this for other countries. Give us a chance to own this
But they hat 400 of them on ebay for foreign countrys. Americans were not allowed to buy them. Anouncement was going about for two months with a countdown for the selling start. They were all gone after 10 minutes. I had mine 10 seconds after the auction started. Tryed to buy two more with two acounts of friends. But didn't work because they had their ebay paypal connection up to date. My plan was to sell two and keep one for nothing. Price was 400...Shipping 400 again... and taxes. Later afraid it went broken during shipping. Lukily it was ok whit minor damage on the outer box.
If this did well, I hope they do a similar scale Jawa Sandcrawler, but my impossible desire is a more accurate to the attraction Star Tours Starspeeder.
If I recall the original Jabba had the clear plastic covering the eye & if you moved your head, the eyes would look as if it would follow you across the room.
I just pick this up with all the figures from 2003 that are associated with the bardge! I paid 800 for it all. I also got a bag marked cantina. I think I did pretty well. I ordered some vintage figures to replace the newer ones.
Very nice video. I really enjoyed getting to see all of the details. It would be a cool ship to own; but, as you stated at the end, the price was out of reach for my budget. On e-bay, this piece is selling at a minimum for $1200!
Great review i wish i would’ got it 😩 i realy regreat it i love your videos i appriciate the time and effort you put to all your videos keep up the good work 👍🏻
"It's pretty self explanatory, once you read the instructions." Comedy writers writers wish they could have strung that sentence together. One of the funniest things I've ever heard said. 😝
"You'll realize its not really a box at all, its more of a giant piece of cardboard that folds over the contents." One of youtube's great unboxing quotes.
Quick tip HERE! If you don't like Jabbas Microphone setup u can simply buy the Replacement Vintage Hookah Pipe (the ones that they found in the California warehouse) and believe it or not it goes right over Jabbas Microphone setup perfectly without having to remove it. The only problem is the clear bowl underneath that would have to be modified. I put it on my Barge and it looks awesome cause I wanted jabba to be smoking his pipe and for my barge to be a little different from others. Hope it helps someone.
Finally got a house big enough to display this beast, currently working on a mural to make this look more realistic. I love it, I agree Jabba could have been painted better.
This success makes me hope a Unicron could come about in the same way (I could never afford it, but I know many people would love to have a massive Unicron)
Woooow! This is surely the big woop of Star wars toys. I am very happy with my vintage Kenner Skiff, and have sometimes longed for the smaller skiffs to make a nice collection, but this one.... I would love to see the Khetanna displayed with one or two skiffs outside and maybe even the smaller skiffs as a fun thematic scenen. Are there any Sarlacc toys out there to include? =) Only thing that would have been a nice addition is some kind of escape pods or life-boat skiffs that characters lite Bib Fortuna and such, that is supposed to have escaped the explosion, could have used =)
I did not know that with the figures. They could have offered that as an additional add-on, individually or the entire group you see pictured on the box. So that the backer could order them if he wanted or needed them. That would have been nice.
I wish that I had gotten this at the time, but I was too late for the payment. I see it on eBay for three times the price. Maybe eventually I will own one. It’s amazing.
Nice video. (FYI..you kind of sound like a sleepy Kermit the Frog...No offence.) I received my barge on March 7th and I love it. Is it worth $500? I will admit, it is a bit overpriced, but not so much that I'm not glad that I bought it. (And I plan to make some money back on that carded Yakface figure. I think maybe Hasbro added him to get more people like me to back it, knowing that Yakface could be like a rebate of sorts.) As far as the barge, itself, the only complaint I have is that, for the price, they could have wired in some L.E.D. lights. (I have to get out a flashlight any time I look in this thing.) The design made me wonder how Jabba is supposed to get into it. Maybe the starboard wall of the lounge (behind Jabba) should have been made like an old style garage door, that you could swing up, when he enters or exits.
Been a while since I've had a detailed look, but I'm reasonably sure the details at the fore of the interior (cockpit, jail cell and galley) are pulled from the ICS book. Admittedly things are moved around some, but it's some pretty nice inclusion!
Now how about a sand-filled aquarium to display this along with the floating plank. With of course, the desert eating monster in the pit. That would be awesome :)
Probably not. I generally like to devote more time to individual things rather than doing a very quick overview, and my collection is also in serious need of some reorganization
Thank you for sharing this Star Wars toys gem. It is a nice looking toy with lots of playability but I passed on that one as im not a big fan of Jabba and his bunch. If it were a bit cheaper I think I might have gotten it but 500 US retail plus tax (im from germany) and now on ebay for 1600 to 2500US i leave it for the ultra enthusiasts out there :D I stick with my AT-AT and Legacy Falcon and some other vintage star fighters.
I Know This video is over a year old. I Just discovered Ur Chanel And had no idea This excisted. I'm a Huge Jabba collector and I really need This. Any idea where and how I can claim one. Please and thank you 😊
I really wanted this vehicle a year ago, but once I started to logistically figure out where I could put it in my house I kind of lost interest. I'm happy it exists, but it's physically too large for a collector item in my home. Plus, with shipping and the fluctuating Canadian dollar, it was just under $800 when I looked at buying one. I hope we see more Haslab items in the future and they figure out a way to keep costs down, especially for international customers.
Agree ! i had the chance to buy it, but too big. i have a lot of fine dioramas, and this one should have take to much space. same if Hasbro would have said :ok we Will make à star destroyer !
21:18 Somehow I doubt that the action figure on the left is actually from a vintage collection when it advertises figures like "Scariff Stormtrooper" and "Enfys Nest".
And to think in 1985, a 7 foot long aircraft carrier went for $100
Which is about $250 in 2019 dollars.

I think my barge back in the day was done out of my Legos, and I had my mum help me with some red-orange felt fabric for the sunshades. Small notes - good memories. :)
You have a very detailed review that comes with comparison to the movie's barge as well. I hope you do more vehicle reviews in the future
THIS WAS RELEASED ON MY B-DAY AND JABBA IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE STAR WARS CHARACTERS!
If this did well, I hope they do a similar scale Jawa Sandcrawler, but my impossible desire is a more accurate to the attraction Star Tours Starspeeder.
Absolutely fantastic review. The best I’ve seen
More on the full size 3d printed jaba!
Fantastic video on the Barge. !! Seriously.
If I recall the original Jabba had the clear plastic covering the eye & if you moved your head, the eyes would look as if it would follow you across the room.
Great review! Excellent comparisons using the slow motion movie clips. I think it’s a great toy.
Frankly what's neat about this is that it doubles as a universe-friendly display case that isn't even a cutout, but a full diorama.
Great video, thank you for sharing all the details. You might be able to move the collectors coin to the correct orientation with a magnet.
Great review i wish i would’ got it 😩 i realy regreat it i love your videos i appriciate the time and effort you put to all your videos keep up the good work 👍🏻
"It's pretty self explanatory, once you read the instructions."
Comedy writers writers wish they could have strung that sentence together. One of the funniest things I've ever heard said. 😝
Well you know what I mean...
@@MightyJabbasCollection Of course I do, doesn't change the fact that the sentence in question was worded freaking hilariously!😂
@@shelbyseelbach9568 I can't deny it!
Always loved his sail barge
I just realised that the barge is more gun metal gray than brown 🤯🤯
"You'll realize its not really a box at all, its more of a giant piece of cardboard that folds over the contents." One of youtube's great unboxing quotes.
Jabbas dais does slide in the movie. It is not directly shown, but it gets closer to the windows in between scenes
I love it! I wish i had one of these as a young boy, that would have been Surreal.
I didn’t know it was only $500! I would have gotten two! I spent just about $400 on the Razor Crest! They need to make the barge again!
Yeah in hindsight $500 doesn’t seem that bad, particularly when you factor in the secondary market prices these days
I got a little sail bridge. What year did the $500 sail bridge came out.
omg, forgot about this channel, thanks for the upload!
Finally the video I’ve been waiting for, wish I had one.
This success makes me hope a Unicron could come about in the same way (I could never afford it, but I know many people would love to have a massive Unicron)
“It’s not even a box, it’s just a giant piece of cardboard that folds over” that’ll be a box then 🤣
I reallylike your reviews, man!
Only thing that would have been a nice addition is some kind of escape pods or life-boat skiffs that characters lite Bib Fortuna and such, that is supposed to have escaped the explosion, could have used =)
Could you do a review of all of the skiffs now that we have a new one to go with the barge?
Lucky Lol since I dedicated my life to my girlfriend and music I don't have the money for my jabba collection
@@dansweet2499 Congrats man! Follow your passions!
It’s amazing.
damn i really wish there was a kenner counterpart for the same
price as the GI Joe aircraft carrier so i could obtain it
Best sail barge review ever!
Most all of those figures are coming out this year in Q4, as part of the Black Series collection.
@Chris R ..None taken. :)
Jabba's eyes are the same red just has a little yellow sun bursts in them. The barge jabba is the best.
Been a while since I've had a detailed look, but I'm reasonably sure the details at the fore of the interior (cockpit, jail cell and galley) are pulled from the ICS book. Admittedly things are moved around some, but it's some pretty nice inclusion!
There certainly are some similarities now that I look at it
Ithorian skeleton is really cool detail!
wow i wish i hade that to my collection!
I hope they use that same jabba when they make a new jabbas throne set, with the vintage box
Now how about a sand-filled aquarium to display this along with the floating plank. With of course, the desert eating monster in the pit. That would be awesome :)
It’s 2022 and wish I didn’t sell mine as soon as I got it . Have you seen the prices on eBay now ? Ugh
Do you have any plans on doing a complete collection video anytime soon?
Probably not. I generally like to devote more time to individual things rather than doing a very quick overview, and my collection is also in serious need of some reorganization
Image that under the Xmas tree well I'm going to have to at that price epic toy
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I LOVE YOUR TOY REVIEWS!!!!!!! :D
Would the smuggling compartment fit han solo in carbonite? I know it wouldn't fit the time line but still?
I wonder tho, how dose jabba get into the barge with those small doors?
Thank you for sharing this Star Wars toys gem. It is a nice looking toy with lots of playability but I passed on that one as im not a big fan of Jabba and his bunch. If it were a bit cheaper I think I might have gotten it but 500 US retail plus tax (im from germany) and now on ebay for 1600 to 2500US i leave it for the ultra enthusiasts out there :D I stick with my AT-AT and Legacy Falcon and some other vintage star fighters.
Great review very detailed and informative 👍🏾
I Know This video is over a year old. I Just discovered Ur Chanel And had no idea This excisted. I'm a Huge Jabba collector and I really need This. Any idea where and how I can claim one. Please and thank you 😊
eBay is probably your only choice at this point I’m afraid
@@MightyJabbasCollection Awesome 👍 thank you for your reply. Happy New year 🎉
I really wanted this vehicle a year ago, but once I started to logistically figure out where I could put it in my house I kind of lost interest. I'm happy it exists, but it's physically too large for a collector item in my home. Plus, with shipping and the fluctuating Canadian dollar, it was just under $800 when I looked at buying one. I hope we see more Haslab items in the future and they figure out a way to keep costs down, especially for international customers.
Agree ! i had the chance to buy it, but too big. i have a lot of fine dioramas, and this one should have take to much space. same if Hasbro would have said :ok we Will make à star destroyer !
it's only available in north America...Hasbro WON'T sell or ship it to anywhere else...retro blasting did a video about Hasbro policy on this issue.
@@hanzohattori2492 not at all....600 were avaiable on ebay sold directly by Hasbro for international customers. it sells in less than 5 minutes
@@jebstuart4004 check out the video on retro blasting.
@@jebstuart4004 I have checked those on eBay an they are not being sold by Hasbro direct...it simply says Hasbro is the brand.
Hammerhead skeleton... 🤯. Hammerhead was one of my favorite figures as a kid.
Nice video! I’m sure you have the Micro Machine Jabba sets, do you have a video on them?
I do have them. I have mentioned them in other videos but haven’t done one just on Micro Machines yet
21:18 Somehow I doubt that the action figure on the left is actually from a vintage collection when it advertises figures like "Scariff Stormtrooper" and "Enfys Nest".
how did you come up with your intro song? it's a suprisingly catchy tune only using the laugh
Broguy I sampled the laugh and then played around with it in Garage Band
Not sure if $500 cool or $400 whatever plus shipping, cool - but toys are expensive these days. But yeah, it is definitely cool.
Too bad it's over $1000 online now.
