Excellent and thorough evaluation! Great review of the pros and cons, warts and all. Thanks for all the close ups on the accessories. This is incredible effort at detail and accuracy by Sideshow. I had the previous Sideshow Jabba and sold him last year as soon as I heard the announcement, to help afford this one. Looking at reviews like yours, I'm not so convinced anymore. I knew the materials would be different but I find myself more disappointed than hyped, to see this is more a statue with magnetized parts, than a rubber-skinned action figure. It's not the articulation that I miss, necessarily, and it's possible that polystone would fare better in long-term displays. But that painted skin looks very glossy under your studio lighting and for the price jump I really wanted to see Sideshow recapture the rubber-skin texture from the film, to really help sell his presence on the shelf. Of course, I could be waiting a long while before Sideshow or another company take a stab at this.
Great review, thanks. At 7:25 they really should have Salicious Crumb be made of flexible material rather than the rigid, fragile kind that breaks easily. I am surprised they did that, and it stinks that it broke.
....wait..theres a new jabba from sideshow???...when did this happen? I sold mine some time ago and miss it but this new one is way better detailed...i might have to buy this again!
I was never a fan of Jabba. But the detail is impressive. Most impressive. And most expensive. I liked Salcious Crumb and Bib Fortuna though. Nice review bruv. Cheers
Oh wow, it's so weird seeing those flat portions on the underside of the arms. No one on the Sideshow Freaks forum has pointed that out..that I know of. And thanks for all of the pics you've posted on there! Since there's no give with the material, will probably have to use some sticky-tac for it to hold the chalice from the 1st version. lol - with all the stuff you get, makes you scratch your head with why they left that out this time.
Hello.Great review! Will you recommend this figure? I'm a huge Jabba The Hutt fan.The Jabba'spalace scene has always been my favorite! Love the paint job on this new one.I had the previous Sideshow one and sold it. I'm reconsidering buying this one but I'm not sure because of the material it is made of.I think it is too fragile and easy to break. What do you would say? Thank you!
This set is gorgeous and a huge upgrade from the original in terms of scale and detail, but the price is still the major turnoff for me. As much as I love collecting Jabba merch, I just don’t see $800 bucks as a smart move for myself right now. But congrats on getting one !
Jabba is a difficult figure to make. He has a different than usual body shape, and there are difficulties in making him maneuverable. This seems to be the best approach to a Jabba I've yet seen. Combine this with a rotating body, and it's perfect.
Regarding your figure's broken ear, if you contact Sideshow within thirty days of having received your purchase, they will very likely replace the figure. Especially considering how fragile it is and how easily it happened. Worth a shot.
I think I’m okay with it, seeing as it was my fault and I was able to repair it. True, it shouldn’t be that fragile in the first place, but any replacement will presumably also be as fragile
Ebay slave leia brah. Phicen or jaio for the color match. I like phicen skeleton better, now t.b.league. good luck. I took a hasbro slave leia with the chain or the leia and r2 as Jabba's prisoners from fao swartz and bashed one with a wwe superstar body. Pretty good. Changed the skirt to purple. Much better than the 5 point doll that comes with it. You have to redo the chains on the bikini bottom and the straps and elastic on the top are usually dry rotted by now. But with a little tlc, not bad. Do more with different heads and you got a harem.
Can you possibly do a video on Rancor merchandise? I know you've made a few videos discussing the topic, but a look through the older figures would be nice:)
Not great unfortunately! Which is to say that I have done very little due to various things coming up, and also being a little bit burned out on 3D printing. I do hope to still do it sooner or later but I can't make any promises as to when
Hey man, could you please send a link to the exact Pick & Pluck stuff you got? I've been looking it up and it's overwhelming with how many different ways it comes in.
The one I bought seems to have sold out since I posted about it. It was the 100mm/4" thick version (FS100R). I would think it would come back in stock after a bit.
That’s certainly one option, and I was intrigued to hear that this figure was sculpted digitally, so they may well have used 3D printing at some point in the process. But generally speaking it would be a lot of work to print something of this quality even if you had the STLs for it. And then you have to paint it, and most people would have trouble getting close to this level of quality
Woahh..this is 800 bucks on the sideshow site. I remember buying the original one for like 300 back in the day. Its cool that jabba now has interchangeable parts but the price is steep.
The price of scale figures is has really skyrocketed in the last few years, which is one reason I stopped collecting. The quality has also improved but I have trouble paying close to $250 for a single humanoid figure
Mighty Jabba's Collection ....i remember when figures back ago were like 60.00 each and now they went up a lot!!!! I had sold off my hot toys from 10yrs because they seem to detoriate with time..the plastic became brittle and not worth the investment to open a figure and find a hand or knee just magically break off.
there's no feeling that matches when you find a yt channel like this out of nowhere
Jabba always blew me away his whole aura is great

20:06 "..., and something that I can definetly recommend to someone who's crazy enough to have a giant Jabba's statue sitting on their house."
Lol

Love the review! Pushes me closer to getting my own.😁
I’m surprised you didn’t pre order this. You’re usually all over this era of Star Wars stuff.
@@mattr8807 You know me well, you should also know I do not trust Sideshow QC and overall design and sculpt.
For me it is the most beautiful collector's item in the Star Wars universe, a true work of art!
I was never a fan of Jabba. But the detail is impressive. Most impressive. And most expensive. I liked Salcious Crumb and Bib Fortuna though. Nice review bruv. Cheers
Superb review! I don't collect 1/6th scale but this is really tempting... The price though :/
Great in depth review, i now know what i'm using my points on. thank you :)

I'm just going to repaint my old Sideshow version, might add glass eyes. Great review, loved the comparison.

Hector Lopez As long as you don’t mind it being more of a statue than a figure, I think it’s great
Getting ready to pick up this piece. What size pluck foam piece did you get for storage?
I think this is the one: amazon.com/dp/B06W5BM2FN/

You could get a get a Haslab Sail Barge and one Hot Toys figure for the same price as the new Jabba. It really should have been in the $400-600 range.
Great review !
Honestly, I think the old one had much more accurate sculpting, but the paint on this is far superior.

So glad they went with decal applications as opposed to hand painting. Besides the really inaccurate coulor scheme on the first, the eyes were sloppy.
I love your vids and your an awesome creator
my biggest complaint about the new Jabba is that the tail is sculpted in a way so that it never fits on the throne...

Will the slave leia gentle giant by sideshow work with it I’m working on trying to make a Jabba palace with sideshow figures

david thomas thank you I will have to find one on eBay
Do you think hot toys wil make a new jabba the hutt?
gollum 475 de jong Could be, although people have been talking about the possibility for a long time and it hasn’t happened yet
Man that is one beautiful model

That would be a good idea. I can’t make any promises about when it might happen though
@@MightyJabbasCollection keep up the great work:)
Mr. Potato Hutt.
WOW the face parts is giving me Hellraiser flashbacks!
Hey Mighty Jabbas Collection Im a huge Jabba fan and I was wondering what 3D printer would be best to make the full sized Jabba 3D print you made
I think they should add oola figure
Hows the paintjob on the life size jabba going, would like to see an update :)

@@MightyJabbasCollection d'aww sucks to hear but thats understandable. Take your time we"ll wait :)
At 5:55 I do not like jabba winking at me with his tongue out 😂
Where could I buy a leia like yours?
those prices, though... youch. this thing is probably a recaster's dream.
What size pick and pluck foam box are you using there?
It was 4 inches thick but I can’t find the exact one I bought on Amazon anymore.
The animal skins I thought one would cover the whole throne but Nooppeee!
Awesome video and jabba the hut👍

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. I'll keep checking..sure it'll be back in stock soon.
Looks great, but how much!!! £620. That's so expensive. One reason to get a 3d printer and print your own..

Awesome video 👍 got some vintage Star Wars graded by AFA 🤩
Where do you get this
this one actually looks like the puppet!
Well I mean in the end sideshow figures aren’t for play but being honest I was kind of wet down by the fact that it wasn’t like an action figure
Did you get the sail barge?
It should be here on Tuesday
@@MightyJabbasCollection cool, looking forward to the video on it :)

WHERE IS THE JAIL BARGE REVIEW????
Sail barge review is in progress.

As cool as it would be to see Oola included with this figure, I'm glad she wasn't because I could not afford this XD

My heart goes out to how it must've felt during the editing phase to relive that unfortunate moment at 7:13.
