One can never have enough Jabbas displayed around the house. Your reviews are an excellent source of information for a collector. Great job and dedication.
Thank you for taking the bullet on this one. For the price point this should have come closer to the prototype and those paint blotch frogs are an embarrassment. Thanks as always for the fantastic review.
This is the most realistic sculpt I've seen so far, although the paint job sure was better on the prototype featured on their website. I'm still pretty happy with my 1/6 scale vinyl Sideshow Jabba, which I still think has one of the most accurate sculpts to date, but this one would be tempting if it were cheaper or at least had a great paint job.
About four months ago, I was definitely set on getting the Sideshow Jabba...that is until I checked the measurements! I'll need to wait a bit so I can properly display him and his companions. It seems like a lost opportunity that Iron Studios didn't give collectors an option to swap out an arm to hold the hookah, especially with this price point. Fantastic review that answered all the questions I had!
I have the Iron studios for two reasons the size sideshow is so big space wise but for me the cost is alot more for me I'm in Canada so when you do exchange on $ shipping and duty +taxes sideshow goes from 800 to 1500 $ Cnd. We get hit bad in Canada that way.
Great review of the 1:10 Scale Jabba from Iron Studios. Detailed sculpture. But yes, the eyes could use some highlights with the paint. I am surprised to see Jabba has that lower base and peg, preventing him from being displayed elsewhere. Overall though, looks cool. Thanks.
This was just what I needed to validate my recent purchase of the Sideshow version. 😂 I spent months going back and forth on whether to get that or the IS version. At one point I thought I’d get this one when they teased the 1/10 Boba and Hans in Carbonite… but looks like it never got approval. So my eyes gravitated back to this and figured it would be easier to pair with as you have more options for 1/6 scale proximity pieces. Yeah it’s bigger and more $$ but I feel it’s the better value. Especially since you can’t put the hookah pipe properly as you’ve shown… still an excellent sculpt though. Thank you for this!!
With some minor paintwork and maby some Aves epoxy sculpt to fill in some gaps or change little bits........it's pretty good. But not at that price point. These companies keep releasing subpar quality products at a collectors price. And that unfortunately, may never change.
Regal Robot Jabba Maquette for me...I prefer the concept version and the price is much more affordable...Your video on that piece is also excellent as usual.
Those splotched "frogs" are really disappointing when considering the price paid, I too think the statue isn't that bad but the small things such as the lack of Jabba not being able to hold the hooka pipe mouthpiece, the splotched frogs and the hand painted water in the bowls are things that I would expect from something cheaper and to some extent expected in something that was hand made by an artist.
I've always been curious about the lack in consistency of Jabba's tail length from figure to figure. In the film he does seem to have a considerably longer tail and in some of the figure's I've seen, but others they seem to shorten it. Maybe they think his tail is like a worm that can somewhat contract and expand? Would love to hear your comments on this ever changing feature from Jabba to Jabba.
It does vary a lot, but I guess I have sort of chalked it up to artistic license. This one’s tail is definitely on the stubby side. Making this video emphasized to me just how much variation there can be in different interpretations of the character, and honestly that is part of the appeal to me
I think Iron Studios have done rather a good job with their statue. The sculpt of Jabba's face is really well done, especially compared to the other two shown for comparison. With a better paint job, I think that the Iron Studios version would look superb. However, for me, the best Jabba sculpt is the original 1/6th scale Sideshow version that came out about 15 or so years ago. Another repaint required because, well, it was Sideshow. But the facial expression and general overall attitude of that Jabba is spot on in my opinion. Right out of Return Of The Jedi.
It is a great sculpt for sure. Shame the paint hid it. I’ve also reviewed that version but left it out of this video because it’s more of an action figure than a statue, and because the throne is noticeably worse quality than the new one
@@MightyJabbasCollection I ordered one as well. Since the jabba dais that included Oola a few years back in going for the same price. Of course, I'm using it for Jabba.
Not a fan of how things have to be in a certain spot. Also not being able to hold his hookah is weird. My favorite you’ve shown is the Jabba with all the loose pillows and interchangeable pieces. If I could even own one, it would be that one.
Iron Studios strikes again. They're one of the worst when it comes to prototype vs in hand products. Can't believe they couldn't be bothered to put any paint on the bottom at that price point. And the paint splotch frogs are laughable. I have a few of their statues but I've had to repaint and retouch every single one. They're close to being a great collectible company but they struggle with certain key areas that are frankly unacceptable for what they charge.
Sometime I think you're more dedicated to Jabba than his actual in-universe followers.
If you believe the backstory, almost everyone in the palace was plotting to kill him, so I wouldn't be surprised if that were true
The face sculpts is the best I have seen so far.

The best one is the Iron Studios.
I go for the large one. Thanks for sharing.

I love my Sideshow version!
That is a great sculpt.

They should maker smaller versions of those type of Jabba “dioramas” that cost less money so people can actually afford it and enjoy it too.

def surprised they wouldn’t just make a few spacefrogs for the hookah
Will you be getting the boba fetts throne room set it doesn’t have jabs but it’s his palace
Yep I’ve ordered it
I'm stuck with 1/10 scale. My problem is I'd like a Twi'lek, slave Leia, and other characters and pieces. So do I make them?
Well, the Gentle Giant pieces are 1/10 scale I believe
Power of the force 2 paint job
Loved my jabba. But my Salacious came with a broken ear.

Honestly I looks good and it seems high quality but $545 I think it's too much but if you have the money to spend yeah I would get it
I like it

Are you going to be reviewing the new lego boba fett’s throne room by any chance. Great vid btw.
Working on it now actually!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Boba Fett throne playset offered by Hasbro and its 230.00 price tag.
Great video once again!
Well I have it on order. Looks like it should make a great Jabba’s throne room if you add a few things
@@MightyJabbasCollection I ordered one as well. Since the jabba dais that included Oola a few years back in going for the same price. Of course, I'm using it for Jabba.
Is there a twelve inch scale
Twelve inch scale is the same as one sixth scale, like the Sideshow one.
Yes it is worth it
And I’ve never watched Star Wars
Cool!
Are you gonna review the new Lego Boba fett throne?
Yes

Gentle Giant version is the better option hands down
One of these companies should make a diorama of the scene in which Leia chokes Jabba.
Sideshow did make one, which you can see here: ruclips.net/video/BNwU8B9oyzA/видео.html
In my opinion

In short,NO!
This set is actually pretty bad in my opinion.
