@@bmcallister1974 actually building mocs is not as expensive as youd think! if youre intrested in building mocs financial reasons should not be stopping you. Personally i use webrick for my parts and i average around 0,04 usd per piece.

Having been to 21 Mule Team Canyon, where they filmed the approach to Jabba's Palace, this MOC does have special interest to me. The top corner may be small, but it does capture the look of that canyon well.

@3rddecibel569, unfortunately I made it as one model and it was not transportable (couldn't get it through the doorways 😂) I have made sure that Mandalore is moveable so that if the opportunity arises I could show it at a show.

Lego should release a Max Rebo Band set for the 45th anniversary of ROTJ. That would be an excellent addition to the palace interior.
I was really hoping for the rumoured Jabbas Palace Diorama set rumour coming true when making the set, unfortunately that never happened.

Awesome work, I love lego and I love starwars so this is heaven! Question: I saw you used alot of normal lego bricks as filler for the mountain, did you also use duplo to get heights more quickly?
It was just 2by2 bricks. It was mainly due to not having any Duplo and thought that I would get better use out of the 2by2 bricks in the future.

Amazing! Love everything about it! It would have been cool to have a Worrt somewhere outside the palace but I guess that would have been too small/awkward to build.

@@user-lf8wp9mz8m I started purchasing them for about a year prior to the build. The majority of the parts were off of LEGOs online PAB wall, the filler brick and plate back then was from Bricklink, however since going over to Boxes, I have started getting filler brick and plate from the lego store.

I think the only thing missing from this footage is what the cutaway looks like as a whole. I would have loved to see that! I feel like it would have been one of those old cross section diagrams!
Unfortunately due to the size of my room at the time and how close it was to the wall, I couldn't get a photo / footage that would have been able to show it. Would loved to have been able to do so 😔

@@PsychoMuffinSDM unfortunately I had to dismantle it. I needed the parts for my next build. I am hoping to bring a future build to a convention. I was planning to bring Mandalore to a convention, however again that turned out to be too big and heavy to do so. The one after Mandalore..... I am going to try and design it so it can be transported in suitcases so it can travel.
@@dubbzibricks oh, wow, I didn’t realize I was talking to the person that built it! I was asking about because I think I once saw a build that was Hoth, and it had the whole battle field, but it also had the hangers and tunnels and other rooms. IIRC, I think that was at a convention, and got that whole section cut footage. I just love to see what people with all that negative space inside the model. I’ll have to look for the mandalore model. And I can’t imagine transporting with suitcases. Feels more like you need crates! Lol.

Good questions! We've used the music in many LEGO Star Wars videos over the last 10 years. It came from a copyright free music site that no longer exists. The tracks were in an album called "Brickwars Epic Scifi." As far as we can find, this music has disappeared from the web.

This is really terrific. What I don't understand is...why not use the actual Rancor figure? I get not having the Rebo figure, but the Rancor seems an odd choice to MOC. Not that it didn't turn out nicely.
Thank you @ZoraCatone, Couple of reasons. I didn't own the original Rancor, I did have a viewer of the channel offer to send me his for the finale, however I really liked the idea of making a brick built one. Just fancied an extra build challenge 😉

Thanks @IndianaJake, I was really hoping that the Jabba throne room diorama was coming out and I would get the required figures from that. When that set rumour went out the window I spent all the spare cash on the Jabba's Palace set for the Jabba figure, so poor old Max had be brick built 😂
@@dubbzibricks Dude i've been having the exact same dilemma. I need those Sail Barge figs badly but I can't decide whether or not to get 75020 because is there still a chance we're getting that UCS one this year? Probably not tho...
@@IndianaJake I hope the Sail Barge does come out. I think the rumours are quite strong, especially as they are also supposed to be bringing the Skiff out as well. How good UCS sets have become, the sail barge could/should be epic.
@@dubbzibricks Yeah my rule for collecting is that I only buy the ships / sets that are minifig scale or as close to it as they can get. So if the UCS Sail Barge is properly scaled, then i'll have no choice but to get it haha
