    I love this!!!
    We love our birds!
    We are having a hard time keeping the feeders full!
    We named our woodpecker couple,
    Mr & Mrs Beep Beep. They love to chirp at us when they arrive, especially if we are out of food! It’s winter now here in Minnesota and they are still feeding

    Oh wow, I'm definitely going to try this!! I put suet cakes out at my feeders and yes, my Red-bellied Woodpecker loves it. I haven't seen any Downy Woodpeckers but maybe I will. Thank you for sharing!!

    I've got 6 feeders, plus two suet feeders. I'm a wildlife artist, who specializes in birds. Hoping to try this technique very soon.

    Wow, this is so lovely! I have some woodpeckers here too, eating peanuts. At first I thought there was one, but later I saw two in the same time. And about 10 days ago I saw a baby woodpecker, being fed by father woodpecker here in the garden. I posted that video at my channel RoelekesPlace. I love animals, and a lot of birds come by. I never tried to handfeed, only one jackdaw who was not ready to fly yet. I love this video, great. Roeleke

    I have only been able to handfeed nuthatches, chickadees and titmice so far, but just yesterday a downy woodpecker actually crawled down a chain, onto my arm, and pecked at my wrist before realizing who/what I really was. What a thrill! :)

    So awesome!!!❤ I have seen woodpeckers scaling my trees and fence but not seen them go to my suet cage yet. I have yellow finches, house finches, jays, chickadees and even quail that eat from the several different feeders I have.

    Wow. Amazing how these birds so tame. A very friendly robin briefly fed from my hand although I haven't encouraged it since. However he still pops down most mornings greeting me and anticipation of a snack.

    I think this is the same kind of woodpecker that flew inside my screen porch when the door was open. Took me like a half hour to grab him, I was afraid he would peck a hole through my hand. He just gently pecked me once, but it didn't hurt.

    Hello. Images always so moving.... I had the happiness of being able to feed wagtails, tits and nightingales in this way, even warblers which came on my arm, I have to recognize that they are divine moments.
    The patience is just needed, that they become used to you, and in your whistling to call them! Nice images, one thank you!

    What I did not see in the video were suggestions on how to get them to come to your hand. I already have hanging suet feeders and the downy woodpeckers visit them constantly during the day. But, how to get them to come to me instead of the hanging suet feeder? What technique works? Thanks

    I have Titmice, they do occasionally get on the bird seed, but not the suet feeder? There are tons of woodpeckers but they never feed on either?

    How would I attract pileated woodpeckers?

    • @Fred_NaughT
      @Fred_NaughT Год назад

      Deep woods with tall trees. They occasionally feed on our feeders and suet but not as much as the downies , hairies, red bellies or red heads do.

    What Do Woodpeckers Eat?
    Pls reply.

    • @KayEllleKay
      @KayEllleKay 5 лет назад

      Depends on the bird. A lot usually eat larvae and other things in trees, but a way to attract them to your yard is suet. I also heard they like pinecones covered in peanut butter, and I guess you could probably put some bird feed on the peanut butter

    What is a sue it cake?

    • @kroakie4
      @kroakie4 8 лет назад +4

      Suet cakes are made from animal fat, bird seed, and sometimes peanuts and other things. They're really good to put out in the winter because birds need the energy they can get from this highly nutritious snack.
