Living in Brittany I just can't get food like this without a trek, so I have HAD TO learn to cook for my sanity. An Indian restaurant recently opened about 20 miles away but they closed at 8pm and didn't do take-away? I tried it and couldn't see anything on the menu that I liked so I asked to see the chef. I asked him what was his favourite dish. "Vindaloo" he said. So why isn't that on the menu? I asked. "The French don't like it" he said. Half an hour later he brought me a Vindaloo which was spectacular... Since then they now close at ten, they now do takeaway and they have expanded! This meal looks amazing Danny. 🌶️🇬🇧🌶️
You must be buzzing now! I couldn’t survive without my favourite Indian and Chinese food. I love a Chinese or Indian takeaway and even ready meals for work. In my experience France and Italy are the worst for food choice and diversity. In the UK I’m so used to having so many cuisines to choose from whenever I like. I love British, Thai, American, Chinese, Indian etc. when I’ve been to France or Italy I’ve got bored within a week or so and crave other food. Unless it’s pizza or McDonald’s, burgers etc you’re stuck
Looks brilliant and I'm sure it tastes awesome. I live in a village in West Berkshire and I'm due a trip to Bradford hopefully by the end of September. Definitely will go International. I've been to Bradford many times and miss the best curries in the UK. 😊
That is the largest Keema naan I've ever seen! The mixed grill was well worth £15. The only thing missing is a bit of Pilau rice to go with the Masala. You can understand why the restaurant has been in business so long. Quality and quantity. That is worth a trip to Bradford...
Nah, International is pretty consistent, they've not treated him any different. Yummy food there. I usually have some kind of meat balti with okra (bhindi ghosht) don't remember what they call it on their menu. The Kashmir down the road is my go-to though. It's a proper no cutlery place.
100% agree on the onions you get on the bottom of an Indian mixed grill, or tikka starter. They are always incredible, slippery little suckers soaking up all those spices. Yum!!
I haven’t lived in Bratfud for 20 years, but this gaff and loads of others nearby are top notch. Despite what the racist arseholes in the comments might suggest.
A very high standard of curries in Bradford. In the old days, Indian restaurant food used to be slathered in ghee, or clarified butter, I mean there were generally puddles of the stuff in your curry; much easier to make everything taste fab when it's full of butter.. More of a challenge now, in our more health conscious age. Nice one Danny! ⭐👍
That’s the original, cracking food, been there loads of times with work over the years. They have opened up a much bigger place nearer the outskirts, very swish, and equally good food. You should also try Akbar’s on Leeds Road if you haven’t already - the family naans are comedy gold, lol, so big you can’t see your family behind it!
Omars on Great Horton Rd has the biggest naans in Bradford, the family naan is the size of the table. Akbars is overrated imo, International, Kashmir or the very local feeling Karachi with its pegboard menu are cheaper and tastier.
Thanks for reviewing the International, Danny. I have been visiting the International for over forty years and I've never been disappointed by the meals or the service given. Other good value Bradford curry houses are the Kashmir just down Morley Street on the other side of the road from where you were sat, the Sweet Centre on Lumb Lane and the Karachi on Neal Street, just above the ice skating rink.
The Best Restaurant In Bradford By Far. Fantastic Food, Great Atmosphere And Always The Best Service. Their New Branch Was Long Overdue And Thankfully It Is Open And Doing Very Well. For Anyone Travelling From Outside Of Bradford It Is On Sticker Lane. Good Sized Car Park And Not Too Far From The M62/M606. As Always The Food Is Of The Highest Quality. *Danny Is Visiting The Old Branch, Which Is Still Operating.
This was my regular curry house when I lived in Bradford. It wasn't as posh back then with it's basic furnishing and red signage, but the food was great. It was even more of a regular spot when I lived in Edmund Street, just across the road! Glad you enjoyed it! That building has been derelict since the 80's.
Nothing wrong with Bradford. The place itself used to be really nice especially how it was when I was younger. Its more the fact that the funding been thrown elsewhere, they abandoned tonnes of perfectly useable buildings the old odeon has been sat derelict for at least 22 yrs and its only just being renovated to take it back to being a music venue how it was before the cinema and those other places are rotting as a result of the councils lack of interest to restore the older buildings!
Been twice and going this month. My friend Dennis who lives in Bradford and I rate this place as our favourite place. The sizzling starter and special Kahari are brilliant. Give it try everyone.
Lived in Pudsey for years and used to go to International as it was our favourite. The garlic chicken tikka masala with garlic naan is gorgeous as well as the fish pakora all washed down with mango lassi 😊 Definitely a 10/10. We go every time we visit Yorkshire as now live in Devon! You need to visit the Southwest, we have some amazing places down here

I remember in the late 90's/early 00's I used go to Bradford with a few mates to have a weekend with another pal who lived their at Uni. We went to this restaurant with a nice upstairs, but the downstairs was better, it was quite big and had long tables with benches. The menu was small and everything came with 3 chapatti, you had to ask for rice if you wanted it. No frills but great taste with a great atmosphere Open from 11am to 4am I recall. Also back then £2.80 for a meal. On the Sunday me and a mate would get 3 or 4 takeaways each to take home. If anyone knows this place please tell me. Cheers.
Deffo the Kashmir. I was shocked to read a while ago that their prices seem to have doubled overnight. Downstairs was more of a cafe and upstairs was more restaurant. We used to go to gigs in the 1 in 12 and then have a curry there.
