    I don't know if you have many foreign subs but you could mention that Linn was the daughter of the Norwegian former actress Liv Ullmann and if I'm not mistaken the Swedish famous director Ingmar Bergman.

      I thought about it, but I did not feel it was that relevant. Only maybe that it was not usual for Norwegians to live in New York maybe 🤔

      @@becomingabookworm well.I think that her style of writing was influenced by her parents filmmaking. And as a contrast to Knausgård's style.:-D

    I have read book 1 and 2 of Knausgaard and am addicted. I am nosey about other people’s lives and he describes his with unusual honesty. I also like slow TV and films so I enjoy his endless descriptions of him making coffee!!

      Yes! I become very aware of myself being nosey as well when I read these..

    New haircut!
    I'm still not going to read more of the Min kamp (My struggle) books. I might read the science fiction he wrote, though.

      Yes, and I forgot How short 3mm is 😅
      I will finish the series and then see where it leads me. I have already picked up a couple of his other ones..

    Completely agree that Min Kamp makes for perfect audiobooks. It was interesting to hear your thoughts on it (book 3 is also my least favorite). I'm glad Jente 1983 is good! I really want to read more by Ullman. I may need to pick up the Norwegian edition as it doesn't look like it's getting translated anytime soon. Great month! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

      Thanks! Do you have any tips where to find information about which books will get translated? I often find out what books have been translated to Norwegian after seeing posts by bookstagramers. Reading Jente 1983 made me want to check out «De urolige» at some point.

    Wow, you read a lot this month, including the big chunky ones. I really should get back to listening to more audiobooks. It's nice to have options when reading. I zoomed through the Mistborn books, probably because they were written for young adults, so the language isn't difficult and there is so much action. I think you said you didn't like the first one, so I'm wondering how you will react to the next.

    • @becomingabookworm
      @becomingabookworm  Год назад

      Yes a very good month! I was a bit on the fence about the first mistborn but I enjoyed the ending quite a lot. Also one of the reasons why I read the final empire was because I wanted to try out a mini- series so the threshold for giving the second one a chance was lower. I am a couple of hundred pages into the second one now and I must say im enjoying it a bit more. Mostly due to the fact that I know the basics of the environment and the characters. I have spoken to some of my friends that really loves "the hero of ages" book, so I really want to like this one as well..

    I have found that Knausgard and Fosse draw me in by the almost rhythmic way the text flows. It feels somewhat like looking through another’s eyes and that is quite a talent.

    • @becomingabookworm
      @becomingabookworm  Год назад +1

      I see what you mean. I did feel I was in the middle of Knausgårds mind at some often. Will have to read more Fosse when I am «done» with Knausgård.

    I just finished book 2! He’s definitely a lot more revealing and ‘real’, to an extent that seems a bit uncomfortable at times, but also so profoundly human. I did get upset and angry at him when he described the arguments and fights with his wife, where he purposely withheld his love even though he knew about her delicate mental state. Other parts too, still planning to start book 3 soon

    • @becomingabookworm
      @becomingabookworm  Год назад +1

      Oh yes! I think profoundly human is the right way of putting it. I just started with the fifth now. Quite excited to see where all this leads.

    stilen av Linn sin bok , å snakke til en annen person minner meg om Ingmar sin til (szener av et ektesskap) eller Liv sin film 'Trosøs'begge filmer kan bare anbefales, fantastiske, synes jeg😀
