  • Membra Jesu Nostri - cantata VI 'Ad Cor' [BuxWV75 ]
The first of the seven cantatas was already available on RUclips, and because of the enormous amount of positive and grateful reactions we decided to share the special 6th cantata "Ad Cor" as well!
Luthers Bach Ensemble didn’t want to let another Passion time pass by without a musical contribution of her own. When it became apparent that performing J.S. Bach’s Passion classic would be impossible in 2021 as well, LBE chose the smaller Membra Jesu Nostri by Dieterich Buxtehude. Membra Jesu Nostri consists of seven cantatas, which depict the suffering of Christ and his tormented body. Ad Cor is all about the heart. Buxtehude extravagantly calls for a viol consort to represent the heart of Christ. Unfortunately, this beautiful Passion music couldn’t result in a 'real' concert with you as a live audience either, and therefore LBE has created a beautiful video recording instead.
