Ditto to every comment below me. I'll never forget when the gorgeous Susanna stared at me at one if her concerts. I was 30 or 40 feet away and when she stares at you, you know you've been stared at. Those big dark eyes. She was singing Eternal Flame. I melted like a chocolate snowman in the hot sun. We had a moment together or was I only dreaming?

@@mjlotus yes that is my story and the thing is, I don't remember which one of us looked away first. I've had other brushes with greatness but that was most intense. We never met other than our eyes but she does have a son named Jackson. Just putting it out there.

I do believe the tempo of the song was slow, but I just love Susanna's sweet voice. It makes me fall in love with her all over again.

Actually, David Roback worked with Hoffs in the late 70s and early 80s, stuff which was rather prototypical indeed of Mazzy Star.

Congratulations, Steve Mc. This is the best "Catch the Wind" cover ever. Susanna Hoffs is the only one to have understood its true and deep meaning. Even better than Donovan himself. I'm a Donovan fan... but his original version was just an outline. Susanna Hoffs's "Catch the Wind" is the ultimate version. This one, not the "Red Roses and Petrol" soundtrack one, which is much less accurate.
Susanna Hoffs is an absolute genius. No one is more sensible than her.

@@bobowens7853, it's a good version, of course. But in my opinion Susanna's version is more "true", it makes more sense. It speaks of the stubborn, helpless, disillusioned pain of the end of a love. The slow, dull rhythm, the opaque voice ... everything in it conveys a deep sadness that gives a whole new dimension to the lyrics.
