  • A stunning little pattern that has been designed to imitate the small, very skinny juvenile coarse fish we see in June through to August.
These skinny little nymph-style flies work really well, fished dead drift around the weed beds or out in open water. These flies catch fish!

I would have left a tag of thread at the rear from the start to save a step and use it to attach the mallard at the rear.
This is no doubt a good trout catcher! Thanks!

Tied up a few, added a wire ribbing on some, going to see how they do. Smaller streamers seem to be all that the browns on the provo will chase this time a year. Basically have to bonk them right in the dam tongue before they eat anything though.

How many fish do you get on this before having to bin it. I would say a few fish and it would get shredded and bits hanging off every where.

Great looking fly m8. But is there any difference in tying the tail/back in "from the rear of the fly" and then work forward???
As in, tying the mallard like ( for example ) PT, fold it up, do the body and then tie it down.
