I'm so thankful to this video because when my instructor first explained reverse parallel parking to me I looked at him dumbfounded.. then I practiced with my partners car after watching this and nailed it after 2 tries with my husband guiding me when to look for my reference points and then nailed the whole manoeuvre independently ☺️🥳
@@ThinkDriving Had my first lesson in five years yesterday... The instructor used your method of PP. Nailed it twice without much difficulty. Feeling more confident. Looking forward to next week when I do the lesson in my own car - which I'll also be using for the test!
My instructor taught me to do full lock when the back of the other car has cleared the back left window and then do full lock when the triangle of road disappears in the wing mirror. I find it easier than trying to gauge if your steering wheel is 1 full turn or not.
Your videos are by far the best for parking, it would be great if you could do some more for in the ‘real world’ e.g in to a tight space, between two cars
It’s the same but you will swing out to a bigger angle, then do the second right sooner, but get used to doing it like this for a while and then work on doing smaller gaps when YOU are ready :)
Another great video i do full left then look for angle full to right then full turn to straighten its whats easier my method. And also you must be working or no one would watch you and pass i think its nice you helping people pass you know what your doing on vids i know your just a guide but they make that difference same as advance driving they good to well done for 18k subs
Hi guys, brilliant videos by the way. Q. When parking, whether it be parallel, forward or reverse bay I assumed you would indicate as the where you going? I mean the direction of the bay your going into. Also is it ok to stop and adjust you mirrors down before the manoeuvre. Many thanks Rick
Sorry for the slow reply, yea you can adjust your mirrors. Just don’t forget to put them back up after. Signal are to help others so if you think one would help someone and not mislead them, then it can’t hurt 👍
Left 1 turn when the rear of your car is level with the car your using Right 1 turn when you are at a 1oclock angle Right again 1 turn when you are half a meter from the kerb (you will need to work out a way of judging this if your not using a 2017 Corsa 5 door Left 1 turn once your car is straight Hope this helped?
Some instructors will ask you adjust your left wing mirror to the middle of the donor car before making a full steer of 360 degrees towards the left. Comparatively, you advise us to adjust bumper to bumper before a full steer of 360 degrees on your left. Does it may any difference? I would like to have your impression. Thanks
Hi, did you adjust your left mirror for this manoeuvre or did you leave them in the same position ? I’m driving the same car for my test so I just want to fully understand your reference point for the curb disappearing
my instructor says 1 circle to the left and then one turn to the right, once the kerb dissapears from left mirror then one full lock to thy right. is that good and have you tried it
kipper nine hi if that works in the car your learning in that's great, This is just a guide of one of the many methods out there, so just think about how well your looking around for hazards and take your time :)
Do we need to put handbrake on if waiting on a traffic light in an automatic car? And can we lower the left mirror slightly to do reverse around the corner? Thsnks
Hi, there are a few times we should put the handbrake on, When we are parked, when we stop on a hill in traffic or a junction, when we stop at a pedestrian crossing even if its for 2 seconds and if we stop in traffic/traffic lights for more than 5 seconds. Also yes you can lower the mirror just remember to put it back up afterwards :) Hope this helped?
Natalia M hi thanks for your question, It’s a good habit to use it each time you change direction just to keep control. So you don’t roll the wrong way by mistake. But it’s not essential. As long as your in control of the car
Sam K only if there was someone to benefit. It’s not a problem to signal every time, but it shows the examiner you have looked around properly to see there is no need for a signal. Hope this makes sense. Ps always signal at junctions etc just when pulling away from a parked position :)
This is how I did today during my test...Well done and been passed my test of course...Thank you Think Drive School for providing this tutorial..

This is the thing I'm most nervous about with my test. I'm just glad Covid has given me a few months to practice this... I HATE reversing.
How its going now?

How would you feel if knocked over a pedestrian while parking?
Thanks for this method. But can u highlight reference points pls all the best👍🏼
Left 1 turn when the rear of your car is level with the car your using
Right 1 turn when you are at a 1oclock angle
Right again 1 turn when you are half a meter from the kerb (you will need to work out a way of judging this if your not using a 2017 Corsa 5 door
Left 1 turn once your car is straight

No problem 😌
Can you show video how we know our front wheel is straight or not with full explanations.
Make the car move a tiny bit, about 10cm us all you need, if the car goes straight the wheels are straight 👍👍
Brilliant. Thank you.

Hi, did you adjust your left mirror for this manoeuvre or did you leave them in the same position ? I’m driving the same car for my test so I just want to fully understand your reference point for the curb disappearing
Hi no, you can do this with the mirror
In the normal place as long as you have that adjusted correctly in the first place :)
my instructor says 1 circle to the left and then one turn to the right, once the kerb dissapears from left mirror then one full lock to thy right. is that good and have you tried it

In this video you were going to hit the curb so you turned in towards the car in front of you, are you allowed to do this in the actual test?
CAVE MAN hi yes you are :)
Is there a way to tell if i have done 1 full circle without looking at the wheel? I always either get a bit short or more. Thanks
The badge in the middle of the wheel will be straight again, hope this helps ?
Brillant video
Thanks, Glad you like it :)
What to do when instructor doesn't have small mirror.
Zeba Mussa maybe buy him one on eBay they are £2.50 and ask him to stick it on :)
Zeba Mussa you can easily do this manoeuvre with them tho

There is no reference point so its very difficulty to understand 😕

Hi which one are you are unsure off? there are a few on here so not sure which one you need help with?
Think Driving School where is the starting point when you are reversing into the bay, after you pull out to the side of the car
Tanaka Kusema the first left is when your cars are level
Don't you need to indicate when you first pull out at the beginning of the video??
Sam K only if there was someone to benefit. It’s not a problem to signal every time, but it shows the examiner you have looked around properly to see there is no need for a signal. Hope this makes sense. Ps always signal at junctions etc just when pulling away from a parked position :)

No signal indicators need in uk😂
Common mistakes; moving too fast ( as opposed to "to")
Thank you, my Spelling has always been a weak point :/
Think Driving School perhaps just moving too quickly!
So confused how this one works and the 121 works as well, seems illogical
This one uses less of an angle that’s why 👍
