The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't, by subtracting where it is, from where it isn't, or where it isn't, from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance sub-system uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is, to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position where it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event of the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has required a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too, may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computance scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is, however it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subracts where it should be, from where it wasn't, or vice versa. By differentiating this from the algebraic sum og where it shouldn't be, and where it was. It is able to obtain a deviation, and a variation, which is called "air"

no. amraams do this irl, it’s inertial ordinance guidance for a reason. they take the last known parameters of the target that they lost lock on and continue a flight path with a “phantom” target until it reacquires lock. this is the most realistic implementation of a missile that i’ve seen gaijin add so far

Google translate: I was flying with the mig 23 mld, an enemy f14 fired its phoenixes towards my entire team that was on my side, I always turned to the sides, when in the middle of the map I turned towards the center, one of the phoenixes turned towards me like If it was a drone and it started to follow me and I was shot down, watching the replay later it literally looked like a drone flying looking for someone to follow, I don't know how it did it but it seemed like it had been thrown at someone in the center and the missile kind of missed it. For a few seconds he looked for a target and found me, it was extremely strange. On top of the fact that the mig 23 is unplayable, these things happen to me.

You see, this might be them testing the new mechanic for drilling rockets that can go straight through mountains (only available on a down tiered premium)
I noticed terrain doesnt matter when i was playing SIM on Vietnam map with mirage 3 and was tracking player through hills with radar once you have constant elevation off it is much easier to see that fly low and point radar to scan at mountains and there wont be any interference.
All the big "Air" RUclipsrs need to get together and reach out to Gaijin to fix the current Top Tier. While Fox-3s are a great addition, the general pre-existing state of Top Tier makes it borderline unplayable right now. Get out there, start a petition and we'll follow.
Yep. I have been on both ends of this in AIR SIM. Full on break TWS track, turn 180 degrees while masking behind a big ass mountain, come up the way I went in and Fox 3 jumps out like the boogey man and kills me. I've watched my own missiles do it too on targets they shouldn't and my TWS couldn't see. The G-LOC bug that kills the ability to use countermeasures is far far far more annoying. Priority bug. Only means I've found to get rid of it once it appears is to belly land the jet and do damage. Basic refuel/rearm doesn't fix it for me. I have to land like a ESport pro.
So, do we know if this is a quirk of the AIM-120 or do all Fox-3's do this now? Is this something new, or did we just not know before "sensor view" was available? I know I am learning a lot of new things by watching sensor replays. Someone made a (semi) joke that the creator of sensor view will get fired because it is exposing flaws like this. If you haven't yet, watch a high-tier match in sensor view. It is very enlightening.

@@AKAKraut shut the hell up, you think that you are capable of anything just because u get kills from amraams. the games arleady fucked, notching and chaffing doesnt works always in close launches, terrain cant be used there, what the hell do u expect
Never have I ever though that I'd see wallhacking and air rb in the same sentence
Stock grinding the F-4F KWS without chaff is the greatest experience known to man.
This does explain how i will come out from behind a mountain and STILL have a fox 3 coming to whoop my ass
Thank you for sharing the loadout specifications in the description lmaoo
Don't normally comment, but THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I have been in two or three situations where I swear I am below a hill's ridgeline, but I still have RWR warning. I fly out from behind the hill, and I am instantly met with a fox-3. This explains a lot.
Radars and radar guided missiles have wallhack in WT. Good job Gaijin.
Early-morning shitpost, best shitpost
This has actually been happening since before this patch, Phoenix's were also tracking through terrain. Thank Gaijin
How can I get the loadout from the description?
I'll go back to props. Hopefully smart bullets aren't a thing yet in WT.
Bububut my skills and cranking the hog and touching the stick and notching the bar nooooo my multipathing
Yeah, the WT trees are giant. When they lowered multipath I was flying with some birds that have radar altimeter so to see where the new 60m level is and it is below half height of most trees on AB maps.
I reckon the F15 was just flying in a straight, easily predictable line; Its speed only varies by around 20km/h. The F15 looks like it slowly creeps to the front of the sensor cone, but it should have been right in the centre of it if it was locking through the mountain, and you can see the sensor snap on as it gains LOS right before the kill
most well written gaijin code
sekrit document F15 was fitted with seismic scanner
Is the plane getting locked thru the mountain getting an RWR?
Asking the real questions here
no. amraams do this irl, it’s inertial ordinance guidance for a reason. they take the last known parameters of the target that they lost lock on and continue a flight path with a “phantom” target until it reacquires lock. this is the most realistic implementation of a missile that i’ve seen gaijin add so far
@@defnotcryptic if that’s all it is aim-9ms also already did this.
@@robertgaudet7407 not the same way as aim9s. aim9x is similar, but not quite as good as amraam
as amraams*
The trees being that size is probably to help on performance for those with lower end PCs.
this is content that i'd expect tom see in 2018, i'm not complaining, i love this
Clearly they made the trees giant to concide with the release of the Elden Ring DLC.
That missile knows way to well where it is
Not only does the missle know where its at, it also knows where you will be
That poor guy got a classic gaijin moment
hey defyn do you know what the double rwr in the mirage 2000 means (im not sure if other planes have it)? its something ive only now noticed with the new update
Also did you notice that the new Belgian f16am has hmd for IR missiles but not on radar????
Google translate:
I was flying with the mig 23 mld, an enemy f14 fired its phoenixes towards my entire team that was on my side, I always turned to the sides, when in the middle of the map I turned towards the center, one of the phoenixes turned towards me like If it was a drone and it started to follow me and I was shot down, watching the replay later it literally looked like a drone flying looking for someone to follow, I don't know how it did it but it seemed like it had been thrown at someone in the center and the missile kind of missed it. For a few seconds he looked for a target and found me, it was extremely strange. On top of the fact that the mig 23 is unplayable, these things happen to me.
This explains so much
This new advanced fox3 can reacquire targets by lead turning predicting the flight path from the last known aspect of the aircraft
Gaijin: nah let just straight up tracking through a literal earth😂
nice description defyn
I too noticed the gargantuan trees
Very not surprised about this, the amount of times Ive had an IR missile track me througgh a forest when there is absolutely zero line of sight to my plane. If they cant get something as simple as "can missile see plane" right then I entirely expected them to fuck up more complex missiles like fox 3's
I’ve been enjoying the MICA in the M2K. Also played the hell out of the dev server before release. Blessed to not have the same issues everyone else is having 🙏
Thank you for addressing the tree height lmao half the trees in WT are redwoods
You see, this might be them testing the new mechanic for drilling rockets that can go straight through mountains (only available on a down tiered premium)
I was about to say, those trees are immense
can't believe they gave missiles x-ray vision too
so this is why they were able to track through terrain, THANK YOU GAIJIN
Yeah, they need to fix this and anti-air's radar being able to lock your through tree's in GB is also equally as annoying/frustrating.
Phoenix missiles have been doing that for years, its nothing new.
Honestly quite incredible
I knew it was wack that radar missiles would keep tracking me behind mountains haha.
“Nyet, game is fine”
Damn whoever programmed cheats in my CS matches worked for raytheon? Thats tough.
yo when did they add the baller crew qualification
