quick guide how to play it: enable cyclis target switching. radar mode tws, range 93km. set a keybind for switching radar target. fire the fakours without locking the targets.
You don't need to lock your enemies when firing Fox 3s, in fact I'd strongly argue against it. The whole point of a Fox 3 is to have the enemy tracked in TWS and not give them a launch warning until the missile tracks with its own radar. Notice how your first missile launched in STT mode, did NOT hit its targets because you locked up a 2nd target and didn't provide the first missile with any target information from TWS. If the missile does not receive any TWS inputs then it relies on inertial navigation, i.e. the last know position of the enemy. If the enemy changes course at any point then the missile will no longer be looking in the right direction and will miss. All you need to do is keep the target tracked in TWS, launch the missile, move on to the next target in TWS and launch on them while keeping the first and second target tracked with TWS so that BOTH missiles will find their marks.
This is mostly correct but launching in STT does not give a launch warning since unlike a fox 1 missile it does not use a CW illuminator for guidance and is only giving the missile position information. There will of course be a lock warning
as someone who struggles to play high tier jets (russian) this video is helpful, definitely helped me get better, cause i definitely am not a good pilot naturally lol. I still struggle to understand all the radar modes and how to dodge them but it's a work in progress
@@TheTemplarnight yeah, figuring out which settings to bind, and what key controls what is a pain. Just focus on getting the setting that switches the mode and the scan type so you can lock specific targets or scan for enemies. That on its own will boost your performance a lot, especially as you learn what works against you so you can use those tactics yourself against the IRIAF and F4s spam.
You really need to learn to use TWS when using fox 3s. You're missing out on one of the best aspects of the F-14. As a fun tip when using TWS ensure that you're launching on targets at roughly the same altitudes so TWS can effectively paint them. With a bit of luck from helpful opponents you'll start seeing 2-4 kills at long range consistently. 50-60km appears to be the sweet spot for Fakours. Best of luck out there.
I'll go ahead and try this, though I was having issues with tws unlocking things, and trying to maintain the tws lock just left me unable to defend the incoming fakours
I guess you probably need to stop flying low and avoid locking your enemies at 50km+, so they won't notch and deploy chaff quickly (when using the fakour). Don’t lock at close range with TWS HDN, but use SRC instead. Avoid flying above 5000 meters, or you'll easily get detected due to contrails (jets will grab u easily without radar). I usually get 6 kills with the Iranian F-14.
I don't like spamming fakours, so I'm using only 2 each game and playing as a dogfighter/improved phantom style missile bus to engage people with my other 6 missiles. I get 2 kills with the fakours most of the time, though I'm sometimes too late firing and a missile slams a dead target, so that's likely why it looks like I'm using them wrong, though I assure you what I'm doing gets kills almost every time, and it's the part where I try to have fun with the plane that makes getting 6 kills more difficult.
so when i fly this plane im using r-27's and full fuel because the jet will take what you throw at it. the airframe has a mach 2.2 limit and 1 hr of fuel is enough fuel to do an entire match with afterburner

@moldypotato4656 Completely true, but that missile tracked in the replay, he just beefed it with a last second turn.

love all the level 10's with f-14s, good job like usual gajin
No barrier for entry into jets was a painful idea. Money talks per usual
Sounds like easy kills for a big boy like you

Have you tried the sedjeel since it’s been fixed?
I used it for the matches in my f14 short from a day or two ago, though they are still not my favorite to use

how do you get track pulse dopler radar that far out because i can only get a lock with tws at that range
Radar has a max range that you need to adjust by having a thing keybound in the settings
Yeah mine is bound to alt+q and I set it to around 100km
