Endeavour is one of the best written and acted shows of all time! ❤❤
An eloquent, intelligent, thoughtful actor and an interviewer with excellent questions and a willingness to listen. 👍🌟
I am now in my mid 70's and Endeavour has been by far and away the best TV series I have ever seen. The stories, script, the actors and characterisation and direction were all as tight, as tight can be. Shaun's portrayal of Morse was particularly superb. An absolutely brilliant show and one which is sorely missed already.
What a fantastic area. I love the graciousness of Shaun - no ego at all. Thank you Mr. Evans for one of the most enjoyable series I have ever watched. It will stay in my heart forever. I miss the cast already!!

Everything about Endeavour was brilliant.. the writing, the acting, the location, the plot twists, the depth of the each character, the music.. just everything! Watched it on its first airing and then binged the entire series, back to back, as it was ending. We watch nothing but British television, though Americans, and Endeavour is incomparable. Thank you for such grand entertainment of such magnificent quality. Really hard to know the show was ending.
Shaun is lovely; handsome and intelligent and provided a brilliant performance of Inspector Endeavour Morse; I am going to miss this series greatly; beautifully filmed with good stories and good scripts
I can’t think of 1 American tv show where a lead cast member would be so humble, so articulate and so thoughtful.
Endeavour is one of the most exquisite productions I've ever seen. The actors are all fantastic, of course, but the way it was executed aa a whole, visually and aurally, was simply stunning and it's something I revisit when things in real life feel ugly... what a gift. Thank you to everyone who worked on this show.

The best series I ever saw. I don’t know how to say more but this series and the actors made me higher the rank of any movie and series. I loved all the episodes and the release of every season made my year more enjoyable. I m sad that is no more episodes but I wasn’t disappointed with anything. Much much love from România.

definitely one of my favorite young actors of today . . . modest, professional and endearing. have watched the prime series three times now. so happy for him expanding into his other roles. such a talented young man.
I've never heard him speak in his regular accent until the last couple days, had no idea he's a scouser! People always remark on how some brits can do good US accents but it's no small feat to adopt different British accents as well.
Shaun didn't want to say it, but his beauty and expressive acting are a huge factor in the show's popularity.

For me it was the voice, he should narrate books, and i was so suprised by his accent ❤
I had to subscribe to PBS Masterpiece just to finish watching this series. I waited with baited breath for Thursday to say " Mind how you go" at end and then I pretty much lost it! You know you've done well when your audience gets so attached to the characters. I hope we'll see more.
Thank you for this wonderful interview! I'm from Bulgaria so I already watched the last season and I can tell - Shaun Evans is absolutely right - it is MAGNIFICENT! My love towards ENDEAVOUR is a beautiful mixture of excitement and sorrow. I think that every really good art is made of that kind of mixture. For me ENDEAVOUR is elegance, intelligence and class in every little detail, but it's also poignant, human and beautiful. I refuse to say Goodbye! I will continue to watch it again and again and every time I'll find some new detail that I haven't seen the previous 10 times! And I want to say Thank you! to Shaun Evans and to all of the brilliant creators of ENDEAVOUR, for making me feel like I did in the years when I was first discovering literature and cinema, and good plots and characters thrilled my heart to bursting.

Thanks Shaun for our 9th series. Finished the first episode in 9. I’ll say no more. Just thrilled it’s available to watch. I have watched this body of work many times because of the great quality writing and actors. Everyone that is involved with the project makes it brilliant. Discovering the older character first and loving that series made the younger version of the characters life such a gift of storytelling to watch. Again brilliant storytelling. Sound is on in CA. Great interview with in depth answers showcasing such a articulate, artistic, interesting-down to earth Shaun. Well done!

It's lovely to hear Shaun speak as himself. I had the opportunity to visit Oxford in June and, having been there, it was very enjoyable to watch Season 9 and recognize some of the streets and buildings where the series was filmed. I look forward to watching Shaun in his next endeavor (pun intended).
Young Endeavour and older Morse are my favorite detectives. Absolutely best show. I love Lewis also❣ My love for Great Britain and the UK has come from watching these wonderful programs. Sadly, with our world topsy-turvy, I probably won't be able to visit their beautiful country.
I thoroughly enjoy watching Endeavour , a very well written , filmed , intelligent and performed series . One of the best . All the actors are superb but I must say that I am always struck by how charming is Shaun Evan’s slightly hesitant/ shy smile !

I’m an American like some the commenters and in my opinion, UK shows/writers are superior to most here. This show is outstanding and so is Shaun.
17:25 As a violinist (nowhere near Grade 8, Grade 4) I am so happy to hear Shaun and the team ensured that they found actors/musicians who could play the violin. Have watched so many people/actors playing the violin and other instruments with varying degrees of success 😅. However I don't think my acting skills would be the greatest. Well done Shaun and team for the attention to detail!

WOW what a brilliant interview. And omg you are different but the same Shaun if you know what I mean. We cannot help but keep repeat watching those final 3 episodes although we did watch all of them. Those final 3 episodes are, I think, our favourite. And that final bit Shaun were you go to join the Choir in to sing 'In Paradisum', just touched my heart, my soul, everything. I have it as my ringtone on my phone. I need to find where that Orchestra are performing in the hope they play it. Mmmmmm think I need to go watch those last 3 again 🙂. Absolutely stunning and have just watched the full series from start to finish. Most definitely my favourite series ever with incredible actors and resemblance of the original cast. I can’t believe it’s over but what a superb finale and nod to the original 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I'm American too and appreciate all the work on Endeavour, Lewis, and Morse. As for simpler times in 1960s and 1970s; really? Think back, not so much. It's Morse's world, unique in the era in which it was set and we give thanks for that.
I just saw the finale of Endeavour and I cried. It was so sad Morse and miss Thursday did not get married. A fan from Sweden❤
After seeing the final episode I was pleasantly surprised at how neatly everything was wrapped up. I didn't feel sad, disappointed or "remorseful" but left feeling satiated. The writing really is magnificent.
Loved all the incredible actors in the series and will definitely miss it like no other show.
I have put off watching the last three shows because I can't bring myself to see Endeavour's end. I could have seen it online months ago but I tefused. I have loved loved loved this series and it breaks my heart to see it no more. Wish them all the best but I am so sad.

I keep putting it off because if I have one I've not yet seen the series still lives for me. Dumb I know but that's me.

ENDEAVOR, along with OUTLANDER, are my two all-time favorite tv series. Watching Endeavor come to an end was such an emotional experience for me, even though the finale was extraordinarily satisfying. Listening to Shaun in this interview, I am struck by the difference in his demeanor and personality to that of Endeavor's melancholy. What a delightful and confident young man he is. Kudos to Jace Lacob for asking thought-provoking questions. And, yes, Shaun, the final series was magnificent.

I love love love love love Shaun from the very start! I loved how he changed as a better and more gorgeous actor from his initial films to playing Endeavour! It’s been a great ten years of watching him continuously. So sad the show has ended…
As an avid Inspector Morse fan, I had to visit Oxford and it was an amazing experience to see the same scenic shots of Oxford in endeavor... Just like Midsomer murders..its a must to visit the UK villages that provided the backgrounds of these two great uk series...
Such a wonderful series-with such an immensely talented team. I understand all the players wanting to move on and to give the show a great closing, but I will miss it so much 😢! Hoping for maybe a spin-off with Strange, Joan, Sam, Dorothea, (or ?) Probably won’t happen, but one can dream:)
I always enjoyed Morse, I thought the dynamic between Lewis and Hathaway in Lewis was well executed, however, Endeavour was truly brilliant with a wonderful cast, Shaun Evans is undoubtedly the “bees knees” for me 😊
This show will be sorely missed. I absolutely loved Endeavour and all of the characters especially Shaun Evans. I think the last episode was beautifully written and while it would've been great to see Morse and Joan at least have a roll in the hay, it ended well with few regrets.

Don't get how Shaun had never seen the late, great actor John Thaw who made the role his own and established it for the success that it still is for all generations. How could he have not seen the original series? Missed that one Shaun. I mean he's playing a younger version of the classic original character -- say what?
I think he was ok doing that. He followed the scripts. Had to make it his own role, I think.
I think a lot of actors avoid being contaminated by another actor's interpretation, especially one so definitive as John Thaw's. I think the idea is that watching another actor could make one too self conscious (death to an actor's performance) and too tempted to do an impersonation, rather than a real fleshed out performance. I certainly don't think the decision was disrespectful to Thaw. He went to the source material, Colin Dexters' books, and studied the beautifully written scripts. Anyway, I loved Thaw's Morse, but equally, I love Evan's Endeavour. Just my thoughts.
I didn’t see the original but watched a few episodes since. In the time that it was made, actors worked in a certain way. Tv at that time was done in a certain way. I think that Endeavour is much better. I think that it is too bad that the Inspector Morse episode could not be redone for future audiences in years to come. That was Colin Dexter’s directive.
