- If you're new to the channel, whuddup? If you've been here for a little while... also, whuddup?
I want to get the ball rolling on a little more regular RUclips content. It's been a while since I've uploaded anything and I've realized that the #1 thing keeping me from uploading is that I'm just overcomplicating things.
So this is step 1 for me, breaking the ice, so to speak, and starting to create simple, informative, helpful content on RUclips. No frills, no fancy edits; just good, helpful content.

At this point, if I want to make anything on RUclips, I’ve just gotta make the choice to do it in the simplest, most sustainable way possible.
I do it for a living, so RUclips literally is just for fun. I still get to make dope stuff everyday anyways 😎
@@SamLucas26 Yeah, I try to put way too much effort into everything here, when I should simplify and save that for my short films and more "tentpole" pieces. That's the challenge with the filmmaking niche, the bar is already high. I do sometimes think about taking my skills and starting a channel about something else entirely, but I don't have time for that either.
@@chris_sparrows Yeah man, I think a ton of people who do RUclips start it as this side thing because they like making videos and they want it to be their job. So they feel all of this pressure to be successful because they've got no other outlet to do what they enjoy.
Thankfully, I'm a freelance DP and own a production company so I get to do it outside of RUclips and that frees me up to really not care if I'm successful on the platform or not. Which is a good place to be in haha.

@@CodyMcGriff Man, honestly, my journey to 1K might be the longest story to 1K on the platform, ever lol.
I've had a hot and cold relationship with RUclips in terms of consistency. Never been all that consistent with it; it's always been something that I do to fill the gaps when client work is slow and the 1K growth has been pretty slow because of that.
Although, as my production company has really grown and I've gotten more and more professional experience in the industry, I've really started getting an understanding of how I could structure my channel, create meaningful and helpful material and maybe start to put some bones in this thing!
