Note to self: drink pbr extra and don't install aftermarket cams on dr350 ... I better grab a pbr (Budweiser) and check my valves again, as it sometimes is hard to start when warm ...
Any update? My 93 DR250S is making top end noise. At work right now. I think it may be coming from my decompression mechanism. I adjusted the valves not on the compression stroke, but the valves were closed. But I think it affects the adjustment if its not adjusted on the compression stroke.
Yes, it needs to be adjusted on compression stroke. I hope you can figure it out. This noise was from the counter balancer, I made a few videos taking it apart and fixing it.
I owned a dr350se for 10 years, they are quite tough, it did have engine noise (noisey old bus anyway) on a couple of occasions which was the same thing both times, the nut on the primary drive gets loose as there is no tab washer there, its not a death rattle, suzuki mustve known as they put a small steel tab screwed to inside of clutch cover opposite so as nut dosent come off and dosent wear the ally cover. locktite and re tighten is the order of the day, that is until its the next time, not saying its your issue but worth looking at all the same.
John R I don’t want to ruin the suspense, but that wasn’t the issue with this one. It’s going to be a few weeks before I publish the follow up, so check back. Thanks for watching!
@JugnaDishDawg I assume the guy is trying to build his RUclips channel and I was passing along information that hopefully will help him to edit the BS time comsuming rambling out of his videos and make them more beneficial to the viewing public. He can listen to the imput or ignore it and live with the results. Makes no difference to me.
@JugnaDishDawg I agree looking back at my initial comments. Came off a little harsh and not the way I intended. I watch a lot of this type video on various things I own and maintain myself from motorcycles to cars and airplanes. Some are well edited and you can actually see the channels grow over time and some are very amateurish, and hence they are here today and gone tomorrow as people don't have the patience to watch needless mumblings.

The aftermarket cam is good, engine noise was definitely something deeper in the engine. Can’t get PBR Extra anymore, either. ☹️

@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures oh duh, I remember watching that video a couple years ago perhaps. Well heck yeah man
@@bikemancody2752 hope you get it figured out.
Just to be Claire I was laughing at your new tool name.. great video you will find it you got to look before you can find or fix..
Oh yeah! Stay tuned....more to come when my buddy stops by to help take this thing apart.
Love that PBR!
Stan Paszkiewicz it’s a refreshing garage beverage!
10:16 compression stroke ? all the valves are closed with the cam cover off
I guess I could have said it better perhaps saying the piston is coming up? Good call!
I’m just being picky 🤷🏻♂️
@@jimbob-tz4zb Perhaps, but you're right. Then again, if you look the cam lobes were down so it was compression stroke.....haha!!
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures Only if the cam cover and rockers are on - the valves are closed, stop clutching at straws
jim bob hey, I gave you your win! 😂
LoL, LOL,LOL,, funny hey you need to be hydrated and it sure sounds like a good drink..
After a hot day in the garage, yes sir it is!

Get on with it man... drags too long to anything of substance.
Sorry that you didn’t like it, guess the skip ahead option is for you! 😀
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures Yep... for sure. See ya.

@JugnaDishDawg Absolutely. Building a viable channel is not easy for sure. Failure rate it high I am sure.
