Was reading some of these posts about which is best. I own Traxxas and Arrma. So I am not biased. My E Revo 2.0 is awesome, bashed it to the limit so no shelf queen. There are a couple of mods I recommend. The tie rod ends , unscrew and super glue in hole then retighten. Ends stay connected even with bad bad jumps. Also, the E Revo 2.0 has two positions for wheel base. Out of box it’s in longest position, I recommend re positioning to the shorter setting. This will stop the dog bones (drive shaft ends) popping out on really bad crashes. That’s it, a very fast, great handling car that can be bashed in style. I’m very impressed with mine.
Very clever solution about the dog bone issue, i had never think about that, maybe because I prefer something a bit more realistic than a "square" car lol. Anyway gonna try it
Bought an E revo 2.0 awesome car but I sold it to get a kraton. I work at a hobby shop and we've never had to repair the arrma vehicles as much as the traxxas e revo 2.0 already even tho it's still new....arrma for me and this is coming from a traxxas fanboy who has owned 8 traxxas vehicles!
I roll Traxxas , parts are readily available, and everybody else is just second. Now I love my Baja 5T for track only, don’t feel it’s a great basher. Erevo, tmaxx, and my xmaxx is by far the best basher I every played with. My HPI Savage xl was cool , but didn’t last as long for bashing like my Traxxas. In the end I’ve spent thousands of dallor son this hobby and in the end I always go back to Traxxas. If your new to the hobby buy a Traxxas first, save yourself a lot of time, a headache, and if it’s breaks every hobby store has your parts. Hop ups are endless too. Everybody who reads this that knows anything, will tell you the same thing.
Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 for me all the time. Mine is very Reliable(Not undestructible) and so much fun to drive. Parts here in Austria are almost in every Shop to find. Arrma Parts are so much harder to get and more expensive.
The e-reev is probably one the best looking RC vehicles ever made. Sucks because I would never buy one. I'm sure some folk have had solid e-revos but I've just heard and read too many stories about horrible reliability. The Kraton is just so good and has been from the get. A bulletproof e-revo would be amazing as it's such a cool truck. Just don't have the confidence in it to pony up the $$ on only a wing and prayer. Same goes for the Aarma Nero or whatever the hell its called; the one w/ lockable and unlockable diffs on the fly. I'm under the impression those are just shitboxes and a pain to repair.

All around better built truck from Traxxas because of the R&D bank and relentless testing. Nonetheless I'd love an Arrma truck, but just can't be bothered searching for replacements and upgrades when Traxxas already has em easily at shortest reach. Let the downvotes rain but I can buy either easily and chose Traxxas this time for reasons stated. I'll get an Arrma 6s as soon as they can start providing to the demand and aftermarket parts are researched and available as much as the E-R 2.0. Hobby = upgrading and Traxxas just has more support.
I want to see a comparison video between the two. I just bought the Kraton V3. But iam still getting the Erevo 2.0. the Kraton is a battle proven ultimate basher want to see if the Erevo can hang
Nah the didn't sue them, the kraton would have to have POS rod ends for Traxxas to sue them lol, the kraton is way different in design that's why it doesn't break like the Revo hahaha, I think people compare them because they are around the same size and have a similar stance.
Erevo for me. The 2.0 I had was a tank. Broke one arm and that was it. Sent it off the same jumps as my xmaxx and maxx. The kraton 6s I had was the most unreliable truck I owned. 1st bash with it I took it off a small ramp and it was only 4 ft off the ground and broke a diff case. Arms broke before that. Had got exb parts and was decent after that but traded it away.

@DON GIO'S WORLD The Arrma Outcast is actually based on the Typhon's platform which is a shorter wheelbase than the Kraton. I don't know about all steel but it does have more metal parts than the Traxxas.
Ready Set RC haha, thanks, steel not steal. Yeah I haves more Metal. I just don’t see much difference in the out cast and the Kraton. Besides tires and some plastic parts.

You all forget, the Kraton is durable ONCE you bought a 120 (or so) bucks alu chassis that is thicker and upgrade the braces...which makes a primitive 1:8 scale truck more expensive than a high-end and technically advanced super-car which is the Revo 2.0. Still I love the Kraton and chances one goes in my garage are high...but need to come in used and cheap
@@hirthirthirt1693 Traxxas just confused everyone and called the new paint scheme E-Revo the E-Revo VXL Brushless. So you are also right for calling it VXL BUT the one I had Traxxas called it the 2.0🤣😂 And to add to the confusion the 1/16 is called the E-Revo VXL-TSM.
kelynsdad1023 Do you mean the Cen Colossus XT? If so, that is a bigger truck than these two. I have not ran these two trucks yet so I can not speak from experience. From what I know about the Kraton it is a very tough truck. The E Revo has been improved but as i said, I have not driven it yet. The Cen Colossus needs upgrades out of the box. They may have improved it on the new version that is out now but the one I have needed the servo replaced asap, the shocks were leaky, and the rod ends pop off. Part support is not going to be as good as the Kraton and E Revo. Other than that the Cen is a great truck.
I own a new kraton and its wicked fast and fun but from my experience the diffs and steering servo are too weak for the size and weight of the truck, I don't bash it but within the first month I went through three diffs at over $80 a piece a lower control arm a servo and a set of wheels over $170 a set. I live in northern Ontario and after initially paying almost $1000 with batteries i wouldn't buy another kraton.
Wayne Larson Thanks for watching. Wow, that is pricey! After my first couple of runs the servo is weak for this truck. I have not had my diffs go out but I do not do throttle-on landings. I felt there was too much power bleeding to the front so I put 1M diff fluid in the center and this is now a new truck. I almost don't even notice the servo issues. With that extra power though I did have the wheel nuts backing off and the wheels stripping out so new wheels and loctite are in order.
Ready Set RC I also had a wheel nut back off and melt the rim till it fell off lol, I also put a centre diff delete in it after smoking the front tires off.
Casanova RC It's a pretty well stock hobby store. I would suggest calling before going out. Even if they do not have it they will research it and order it up for you.
@Bruno Costa That would be a lot to type🤣 Both of these trucks have made some changes since this video. Minus the pro's and con's discussion it all depends on your skill set in the hobby, parts availability in your LHS or you can decide to work with online and what you plan on using these trucks for. Jump any truck 20 feet in the air there is always going to be a chance to break it. Traxxas parts are everywhere. Kraton has very good third party support. Kraton's are easier to work on but once you have been in the hobby for a while ERevo's aren't that bad to work on. I will never tell another man how to spend his money but you will need to decide how to answer those questions above and determine the best fit for you.
@@brunocosta8842 I was also looking to see if someone made something more recent but I did not see anything. I've heard great things about the v5. Come back and let me know your thoughts.
@ADAM McCLELLAND Not sure if this answer is going to help. But neither and both. Neither because I'm not a big monster truggy fan. These were my first monster brushless truggies. I would prefer the short wheelbase trucks for my driving style or true monster trucks for bashing. Both because I like each for separate reasons. After going through a lot test and tuning setups I ended up selling the ERevo. This first gen of the 2.0 just had a durability issue I got tired of. Traxxas has since corrected this issue on the later releases. I've also since bought another ERevo but will be using it solely as a street basher. For me it feels more at home there. The Kraton has been a tank. I bent the rear center drive shaft but nothing else bent, WEIRD! I also snapped a lower suspension arm that I drove cracked for 3 years before it snapped on a 20+ foot landing. Because of the weird center drive shaft bend I've put in some M2C bracing and for the arms, I've moved to Kraton EXB arms. I've thought about selling my EXB because this truck is a tank. But keep in mind this is the version 3. Later versions have gotten a bit more strengthening. Sorry for the book 😆 but these questions are never that simple to answer unless you are bias to one model over the other.
I just sold my ERevo v2.0 cause my REDCAT TR MT8E BE6S is still better. I will definitely put it up against the KRATON v2 but bashing but it is my in the top 3 best best bashers of all time.
I have MT10E and if it's any indication of quality, I'd still go with Arrma or Traxxas. Multiple upgrades, bad esc out of the box, led lights dont matter, body fits poorly, bad wheel balance, had to buy a roll cage and skids. Blown out diff almost immediately. Team Redcat is trying but they have a long way to go to get to where these two trucks are. In my opinion anyway.
I see why tower hobbies can't keep kraton in stock just gonna get a talion its over the top crazy as well as outcast which is not in stock lol easy pay😄
@Alex Musante I'm in western Suffolk County. Willis Hobbies is a great place. I've been going there before I got into the hobby over 20 years ago. If you are ever in that area worth a stop. You will lose your mind😂🤣
Ready Set RC yea I’ve wanted to take a trip out there, I’m in eastern Suffolk in the ridge/ middle island area so it’s a decent drive for me. I usually go to bayshore hobbies since there’s none left out this way 😒
@@ReadySetRC definitely. I still really enjoy the erevo, but I don’t “bash” it as much as I just watch it soak up terrain and enjoy the unique way it handles etc. I’m a lover of all brands etc etc but neither the sledge or the new xrt really for me excited. Although, the xrt is growing on me a bit. 😜 Thx for all the great content!
drestarss That is just wrong. I'm not sure of the video you were watching was a Kraton 2018 model but the E Revo v2 is 3 inches at rest in the center of the chassis to the ground and the Kraton 2018 edition is 2 3/4 inches from the center of the chassis to the ground. As I said in my video it is slight but there is a difference. Also the video you maybe referencing could be talking about the top of the body sitting higher but for ground clearance the E Revo is higher. Also listed on Traxxas site the clearance is 2.9 inches and on Arrma's site 1.85 inches.
@Louis Tizzio Yup I've been there great shop. I use to live in Nassau County. Started off in the hobby going to Willis over 20 years ago. Been going there before they moved to the spot they are at now.
@Louis Tizzio Actually this is the 2018 version or v3. This came with the Tactic transmitter. I think it's pretty good. The V4 came with the Spektrum STX transmitters which I've stated my experience on that.
@@ReadySetRC price for the car itself is about the same. But replacement parts seems to be way high on arma.. much higher than i think it shouldve been...
@James Stubbs You are incorrect sir. The center drive shaft, which is what I am talking about, is plastic in the E-Revo VXL 2.0. Part numbers 8655, 8651 and 8658 respectfully. Part 8655R, steel center drive shaft is an upgrade not a stock item.
@Mike anderson The loop back is a connector with a wire connected to the positive and the negative terminals. Most RC manufacturers do not provide this. This allows you to run one battery instead of two for these larger rigs. Hope that helps.
The E Revo sucks. For Traxxas, it's all about the X Maxx and the Rustler 4x4. Nothing else really appeals to me. I have a Senton 4x4 3S and I'm always breaking something on it, but I really want a Kraton 6S. It's gotta be the best basher in the $500 range.
The Nero has remote locking differentials, twin vertical plates for the chassis (similar to the Savage), lay down shocks. The Kraton is a monster truck with the lower profile of a truggy. It has traditional shock tower and no remote locking diffs. Hope that helps.
Ready Set RC thanks mate, I saw the range in person the other day. I ended up with a typhon, as there is a track near by. Thanks for the good explanation.
Matthew Buckley Thanks for the praise, lol. I do not work for Arrma. This is solely a hobby for me. Actually I own more Traxxas vehicles than Arrma. Between my son and I we own 9 Traxxas RC's vs 4 Arrma RC's.
I hate traxxas and tower hobbies separated the 2.0 would be flying out the door 4 people using easy pay to get access to larger scale without breaking the bank waiting for Kreaton off of back order would take either one 🤔
Evolution 😂🤣Including this video there are 10 videos on this channel just on these trucks. Comparison runs, single runs, VLOG, final review. Check them out if you have a minute.
The shock rod ends suck :P Mine stripped on the second run. Seems to be a problem with the E revo. Other than that it was fun hahah Edit: I took another look at it and it looks like the rod end was only screwed on a lil bit when it was stripped. Screwed it on tight and it held up for a light run. Will hold until I get the parts needed. Happy about that!
Traxxas is so self centered they are falling off fast all there rc's are trash the trx4 is the best they ever made if traxxas keep this up with special batteries and chargers they can't last long arrma is king. I see more hobby shops are dropping traxxas
@@ReadySetRC I hear you bro. I think that the E Revo is the most underrated basher around . The end rods are the only issue on it that we’ve had and I don’t mind changing those
ERevo 2.0 is a fantastic rig. Arma fanboys always make me laugh....having to talk up their allegiance to one brand to help soothe their inferiority complex and re-convince themselves that they made the right choice with their money.
@pewterngold I think it's like that with everything, people want to justify their purchase. For me it's all about the quality and not the name. Other than my Tamiya's, my Summit is the longest running RC. That thing is a tank and I would never part with it. It's still completely bone stock and it puts a smile on my face everytime I run it.
@THUGPug Rrrr I hear you but I think you are paying for the tremendous part support and support line. I will agree though with all the recent price adjustments, they've kind of screwed up the pricing a bit.
The revo was alluring when they anounced it years back, but its an overpriced , overhyped, suckers rc. Arrma has better options for better prices, even the rustler vxl 4x4 is a better deal. There was a vacuum in hobby rc in the early 2000's, that left a huge drop in sales, & caused a lot of great smaller companies to die out, leaving traxxas to run free & dominate the market with their ability to sustain losses for longer than the other smaller rc makers. It left them basically in a position to set their own prices, and they got fat and lazy. Now that the hobby RC market has sprung back a bit, smaller companies as well as other big companies are coming back and leaving Traxxas very lazy and underwhelming , as well as overpriced. Traxxas has some decent models, but the revo isnt one of them. Anyone who says theyre nice doesnt own one, they break constantly & dont deliver for their price. Traxxas is great if your an rtr hobbiest, or if you like having shelves loaded with RTR trucks collecting dust, but if you use your rc cars, other brands are FAR better. Ive been in RC since the early 80's & i dont like what traxxas had become, but i dont get compensated for my opinion, maybe somone in traxxas' payroll would say differently
I know traxxas stuff usually isn’t the most durable and is pricy but I like the variety and ingenuity they offer. The one latch body system is so dang nice! I also like the battery trays and shock towers on the maxx and xmaxx. Other brands are still dealing with tiny body clips that rip through the body and Velcro straps. The Arrma stuff is great but most of their vehicles look the same, just different tires and bodies.
Which one does everyone like?

Looks like E Revo for the win.
@MrBigjim77 😂🤣Can't go wrong with either.
Does willis hobbys have a lot of parts and accessories in stock? I live in NY city so it's pretty far. I want to know before I make that trip. Thanks.
Casanova RC It's a pretty well stock hobby store. I would suggest calling before going out. Even if they do not have it they will research it and order it up for you.
Go to track day hobbies in elmont
Changing gearing things really stop breaking
@Louis Tizzio Wish I tried that.
E-revo 2 or kraton v3? Or they are similar.
Kraton
Good afternoon. I'm thinking of buying one of these two cars. Can you help pick one? Kraton v5 6s and the traxxas e-revo 2.0 6s? Pros and cons? thank
@@ReadySetRC Thank lot! But this is a v3 kraton and I can't find a comparison of v5 kraton and e-revo 2.0. But a deicide I will get the v5 kraton
@@brunocosta8842 I was also looking to see if someone made something more recent but I did not see anything. I've heard great things about the v5. Come back and let me know your thoughts.
Arrma the best. Best group on fb!!
👍👍
Don't use self writing it strips the gears .and tsm I keep it off it blow sss
@Louis Tizzio Nope never used self righting. I own a few Traxxas trucks never used it on any.
Which one do u like more the kraton or e revo
None waiting for a New Arrma to rollllll out
Not jumping on the band wagon right now I’ll wait a year or so.
@mikes361 Sounds like a good plan😉
I thought it comes out in late May
Hi it’s Flo That may be for online sales but it has been out at the local hobby shops for about a month.
I just sold my ERevo v2.0 cause my REDCAT TR MT8E BE6S is still better. I will definitely put it up against the KRATON v2 but bashing but it is my in the top 3 best best bashers of all time.
Kam Cradic Thanks for watching! Would love to see that video. Let me know if you post it.
First I have seen with the two side by side
Anthony Arnold Thanks for watching!
So which one is more durable ?
Frank Napolitano kraton! Ive owned both!
Kraton
@Frank Napolitano Kraton
Tekno mt410 is dope.i love it...I love the kraton also
kevin shufs Tekno MT410 is an amazing basher. I wish I had three of me to take them all out to bash, lol. Thanks for watching!
You want to really be safe ride on 4S nothing will break hello
@Louis Tizzio Totally agree! I traded the truck in a while back for a TRX6.
Dead ass I hit 70mph on the dot on stock gearing on 6s 100c burst
@2KsRCModS Nice!
I see why tower hobbies can't keep kraton in stock just gonna get a talion its over the top crazy as well as outcast which is not in stock lol easy pay😄
😂🤣
Hey man where on Long Island are you? In on Long Island too. I’ve never checked out wilis hobbies but I’ve heard great things
@Alex Musante
I'm in western Suffolk County.
I usually go to bayshore hobbies since there’s none left out this way 😒
Have the kraton exb and the erevo 2.0
So different!
@The Jeepin’ Realtor This was filmed years before the EXB was even released. Today the Sledge and Kraton would be a better comparison.
Thx for all the great content!
Does the new revo work with nimh batts? Thanks!
@Todd Merriott It does not. The ESC is rated for two 2S or two 3S lipos.
Thanks
kraton chassie is higher from the ground. i saw it in other video and they confirm that too.
drestarss That is just wrong. Also listed on Traxxas site the clearance is 2.9 inches and on Arrma's site 1.85 inches.
ruclips.net/video/QsQKAVGetSc/видео.html
drestarss Had a feeling you were talking about Jay's video. He is talking about the height (top of body shell) not the ground clearance (chassis).
Arrma is the king of 8th scale
👍👍
You go to Bayshore Hobbies you'll never go anywhere again
@Louis Tizzio Yup I've been there great shop. I use to live in Nassau County. Started off in the hobby going to Willis over 20 years ago. Been going there before they moved to the spot they are at now.
COOL!👍
Do you mention how the kraton radio sucks
@Louis Tizzio Actually this is the 2018 version or v3. This came with the Tactic transmitter. I think it's pretty good. The V4 came with the Spektrum STX transmitters which I've stated my experience on that.
The word you’re looking for is “regarding” instead of “in regards to”. Just an FYI
@M Mason Sorry about that man. My major was Comp Sci.
What's better guys????? What ever gets more comments I will buy and bash the hell outta it!
@codyviera92
No question it's the E-Revo. Good bad and all you will get a ton of comments😂🤣
Why supprt Kraton when all their price is almost double of traxxas?
@Dangerous Fandango Not sure you are looking at the right Kraton. E-Revo is $599.99 and the Kraton 6s v5 is $569.99.
@@ReadySetRC price for the car itself is about the same. But replacement parts seems to be way high on arma.. much higher than i think it shouldve been...
@@dangerousfandango5943 Can't compete with those Traxxas parts prices👍👍
One mistake for sure in this video is the driveshaft in the Traxxas E-Revo 2 is not plastic it is steel.
AND OF COURSE THEY ALL SAY TO BUY THE 5K LIPOS LMFAO AKA THE MOST EXPENSIVE
🤣😂
whats a loop back?
@Mike anderson The loop back is a connector with a wire connected to the positive and the negative terminals. Most RC manufacturers do not provide this. This allows you to run one battery instead of two for these larger rigs. Hope that helps.
The E Revo sucks. For Traxxas, it's all about the X Maxx and the Rustler 4x4. Nothing else really appeals to me. I have a Senton 4x4 3S and I'm always breaking something on it, but I really want a Kraton 6S. It's gotta be the best basher in the $500 range.
👍👍
Whats the difference between Kraton and NEro?
The Nero has remote locking differentials, twin vertical plates for the chassis (similar to the Savage), lay down shocks. The Kraton is a monster truck with the lower profile of a truggy. It has traditional shock tower and no remote locking diffs. Hope that helps.
Ready Set RC thanks mate, I saw the range in person the other day. I ended up with a typhon, as there is a track near by. Thanks for the good explanation.
I like them both. But I think this guy may work for Arrma
Losers use easy pay, adults save.
@Michael Stewart 2 years later and we know the real story😂
Good job...thanks :)
Smithesh N Thanks for the support!
I wanna see them run dude......
Evolution
😂🤣Including this video there are 10 videos on this channel just on these trucks. Comparison runs, single runs, VLOG, final review. Check them out if you have a minute.
Good vid looks like some awesome trucks
Tony Charbonowsky Thanks for watching!
I miss the nero
Me too
I have them both an the e revo always breaks off the same jump ever time both my trucks are set up the same ever skate park run e revo breaks
@Super Chevy Spoken like someone with an unbiased opinion.
I think im gonna go with the Revo
Wanted a Kraton but I only want the 2018. Cant seem to find one near me
Dusty Not a bad choice. I'm still running through my test but not a bad truck overall.
The shock rod ends suck :P
Mine stripped on the second run. Seems to be a problem with the E revo. Other than that it was fun hahah
Edit: I took another look at it and it looks like the rod end was only screwed on a lil bit when it was stripped. Screwed it on tight and it held up for a light run. Will hold until I get the parts needed. Happy about that!
Nice video!
bigteedo111 Thanks for watching!
Revo it's very attractive
@Martin Torres Got me to buy it. Very aggressive looking setup.
Arma kratom doesn't even compare....especially for the price? Extra 30 dollars gets you a 100x better rig.
ThePhantomEvoX Better Rig? LMAO
Los Santos City arma has horrible stock and aftermarket parts support. At least you can fix a traxxas truck when you break it.
Obviously you’ve never owned a Kraton.
ThePhantomEvoX kratons dont break.
You clearly dont own a arrma
Erevo is a lot better
@Pius Pfeifer Yes and no. Design and appearances yes. Durability, no. Power I would go to the Kraton. Both for how they jump.
Awesome video bud
Danny Rc Thanks for watching and the support!
Just got my kraton
@james moore Congrats bro! Hopefully the weather is cooperating to get some bashing in.
E Revo vs kraton
Comment kraton
Like e revo
👍👍
Nice RC brother good job 👊
Kizzel Garrett Thanks for the support bro! 👍
I got a erevo 2.0 man am just want to have fun
Hey how's the e-revo been treating you, do you still have him
👍👍
14:10 arrma kraton looks like a nissan gtr🤷🏻♂️
FilCan RC I love that comparison!
no . it is very similar to Cadillac ATS 2014
Good video bro
Brayden Wentworth Thanks for watching!
i got the bandit from willis hobbies
Jacksch11 1 Great shop!
Ready Set RC yes it really was a great experience
Nice rigs.
jdpasl Thanks for watching!
Ready Set RC 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lucky you. I am looking forward to get E Revo 2.0. I am already have an UDR! hehe.
Traxxas is so self centered they are falling off fast all there rc's are trash the trx4 is the best they ever made if traxxas keep this up with special batteries and chargers they can't last long arrma is king. I see more hobby shops are dropping traxxas
😱😱
Please race them and see who is the faster.
@Rc Car Ph I would not be able to do them side by side but I may be able to come up with something else.
@@ReadySetRC try to drag race them and at 100m to 200m distance to see.
Uh, the Kraton
@norcalrc Out of the box yes but there is something about the E-Revo that keeps pulling me back😊
@@ReadySetRC I hear you bro.
@pewterngold
I think it's like that with everything, people want to justify their purchase. For me it's all about the quality and not the name. Other than my Tamiya's, my Summit is the longest running RC. That thing is a tank and I would never part with it. It's still completely bone stock and it puts a smile on my face everytime I run it.
Kraton 6s garbage. Dose not compare to REVO...🙄
@Louis Tizzio I feel both trucks have their issues. To be honest I like my Losi 8ight-T more than both of these😊
I’m a traxxas fan but I do feel there overrated
@THUGPug Rrrr I hear you but I think you are paying for the tremendous part support and support line. I will agree though with all the recent price adjustments, they've kind of screwed up the pricing a bit.
Ready Set RC yea but great vid 👍
@@Disappointed392 Thanks bro👍👍
Lol when your slightly favoring arrma
@Gilbert Seaver
Actually I favored the E-Revo. Always wanted the Gen 1 but too many issues to pull the trigger.
Tires balloon on kraton bad
@Louis Tizzio Once you tune the center diff you can limit the ballooning.
👍👍
I know traxxas stuff usually isn’t the most durable and is pricy but I like the variety and ingenuity they offer. The one latch body system is so dang nice! I also like the battery trays and shock towers on the maxx and xmaxx. Other brands are still dealing with tiny body clips that rip through the body and Velcro straps. The Arrma stuff is great but most of their vehicles look the same, just different tires and bodies.
@@gregg7761 Totally agree I like the variety too.
I will try ARRMA Kraton soon, even if it looks like a Walmart kinda fella.. weird and butt-ugly. Seriously, it is butt ugly.
Don't get lost in the body it can be replaced.
