I worked at a comic shop in the 90s and always used to get asked which comics to collect. Which ones would be worth something. I told them to collect what they liked that way it will always be worth something to them.
I started a bad Sonic game collection. After playing Sonic Forces I thought "This game sucks." And now I am collecting bad games in my favourite franchise. I got Sonic Forces, Sonic And The Secret Rings, Sonic And The Black Knight, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, Sonic Boom Shattered Crystal, Sonic Lost World and Sonic 06. Also a rule I made is I have to finish them, Get all the unlockables, Get all the achievements bassically 100% bad games. I ended up liking Sonic 06 a bit.
I started collecting a little over 2 years ago. I started by trying to rebuild my old Gameboy collection from when I was 10. I did this just to see whether collecting was something that I wanted to get into. After I discovered that I love the hobby, I sold my entire (new) Gameboy collection to buy a Retro Trio with 6 NES. After that, I started to branch out, but still kept my goal of a complete NTSC NES collection as my goal. Now I'm 322 of 679.
I'm now (slowly) rebuilding old collections that I had: Gameboy, Game Gear, NES, etc, this way I can get my kids into retro gaming. It'll be harder for my son, he's autistic.
Pay for what you wanna play. I got all of the Nintendo home consoles now. So the good thing is that I can get cheap games from every single one of them if I see them so I don’t have to worry about buying the systems anymore
I'm starting a GBA collection, looking for the mario advance titles, zelda games, tetris (why not), and Wario Ware to start the collection. For long term goals I'm going to go for some of the Pokemon games and fire emblem games as well as every model of the GBA, so the original, SP ags-001 (which I have), SP ags-101, and Micro. I also kinda want the kingdom hearts game but that's not needed because I bought the remake on ps4.
I just started collecting, I've purchased a few games I dont own the console to but the games cost $1 and are games I've wanted to play or already played.
i really enjoy ds 3ds and gameboy games but the problem with ds games are is not many people have the case and its just a loose cartridge i wanna see that sexy case on my bookshelf man
I have started collecting for the Sega Genesis, and I have been expanding my Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Switch collection. Plus, I'm always on the search for a Colecovision.
4. If you don't have the money for an Nes, Snes, Sega master system, Genesis, or all the GB systems, all at once. There is the Retron 3 that plays Famicom, Nes, Snes, and Sega Genesis and there is an adapter to play Master system games. And the Super Gameboy works on it too. And the Retron 5 which is emulator based. And it is just like the Retron 3. Except you can play more advanced game boy games on it I think. They are both about $80.00 new. And they both can be used on HDTV's. Also, there is the Retron 77 which plays Atari 2600 games on HDTV's too. And it is compatible with all original 2600 controllers too.
I recently started, my way of collecting has been pretty much buying games and keeping them now. I did make an exception for beast quest which I picked up for 5$ at a local store new. I hated that game, I traded it for more than I paid for it by about a quarter including the tax and a copy of mlb the show 14. I have about two shelves worth of primarily ps4 games, some ps3, switch, wii u, and a couple odds and ends like vita games and ds games which I still have the boxes for.
I Collected Original Xbox, Xbox 360, SNES, and Genesis Originally and finished now for the most part, But also I still pick up games for PS4 and Xbox one s but now just wait for them to drop in price first. But I am currently collecting Wii, And Gamecube mainly. However if I see a game here and there for the systems I mentioned before I will grab it, But no longer actively collecting for them.
I just wanted to mention how much I like to look at all the cool things you have in the background and I kinda miss that in your new videos. You added a blur filter effect but I just think you should remove it I say this as more of a suggestion because It's definitely interesting to look at your collection. In any case I really enjoy your content you're one of my favorite retro gamers to watch on RUclips.
