    CDL mills are a huge problem in the industry. Majority of the CDL holders don’t understand the responsibility and risk associated with being a professional trucker. Drivers deserve to be paid well due the sacrifices made. How did the industry go from $100k to barely getting $45k to start?! GREED is the reason we need to stand up and vote against those who don’t fit the narrative. Leave the ballot empty!!!

      Cdl “mills” have nothing to do with it…. There’s not a single factor to self driving trucks other than automation. Everyday every single thing is being worked on being automated more and more. Perhaps it may or not. Boeing being the billion dollar company it is. At any given accident pays 1 million per passenger if they are American. If they are foreign then 420k per passenger. That same logic reasoning does not apply to trucking and its past nuclear verdict. A deaf man for his inconvenience can sue be awarded 36 million because trucking wasn't a good fit. Same for a car that crossed lanes into a oncoming semi truck also can be awarded 100 million because everyone has to have sympathy.

Thats a form of Slavery. Demand to be paid by the hour and demand overtime pay after 8 hours in a day or at least after 40 hours in a week. Do not accept anything less. You're getting cheated. If enough drivers quit they will do something about it. Tell them you quit because you are not willing to work and be paid by the mile. And no overtime pay. Tell them that is the reason. I have a loval milk Tanker truck driving job and i get paid by the hour and overtime pay after 8 hours and I usually work around 11.5 hours. Thsts decent wages. And 2 days off per week. Do not accept anything less. Good Day 😊

    😅 I understand everyone is still worried about self-driving trucks. But the Federal need to be focused not only on trucks on the road but they really need to focus on shippers and receivers to be fair. Trucks don't get loaded without warehouses. Warehouses are some of the most unsafe areas more than trucks on the road. Here's my example. How many times have shippers and receivers Taken 2 to 3 hours to load a trailer that normally takes 15 minutes. And seriously there is money to be made off of these warehouses because they shouldn't be taking that long. Fatigue and exhaustion is the biggest problem with this industry. Regardless of what people say it's also affects the self-driving industry because if you think about it the self-driving trucks are going to be the first ones that suffer when nobody's there to check the tires. No one's there to open the doors. No one's going to be there to accept rejected freight. Who's going to be there to let them know that they overloaded the trailer question mark all these variables are going to affect the industry tremendously because all they're doing is trying to take shortcuts on the same thing the air lines are doing the Builders of Airlines are all trying to take shortcuts to remove human interaction from creation shipment and safety. How To Save A Buck here and there. My only wish is that the Federal Motor Carrier with the law enforcement go after the shippers and receivers of product and make sure that they are doing their diligence by showing the public that their sighting the shippers and receivers that do not comply with rules of safety. Driver fatigue stems from not only them taking too long to load. Being efficient enough to communicate the drivers pay for their unjustly detention and holdover in a timely fashion. If they start getting these citations and stop doing these stupid pictures of practices driver fatigue won't be an issue and that will be more cost-effective than just ignoring the problem. And until that happens no matter what they want about automated self-driving trucks. It's never going to make it go away.

      @@chapz.1 yes but we need to word it better because public support of truckers is important to improving the industry, as it stands we just get shit on by the general public, and therefore the government feels enabled to take advantage of us to serve the US economy without backlash. Saying "no foreigners/no indians" will not help move the needle in other direction. The issue is that the government let's people with work visas come over because this job has become an undesirable job, but it wasn't always so undesirable. Quality of life as a trucker has devolved into basically living in a third world country. So now we bring in people from third world countries to do the job, further worsening the risk/reward for American truckers. We need to maintain the value of the labor and bringing in cheap labor from overseas is the opposite of this. It's that simple.
      I also don't think requiring property ownership or a mortgage should be a requirement to have an MC. Unless you mean you need to have your own truck, whether it's owned or on a payment plan, to own an MC. That way only truckers and former truckers who run their own equipment will be running MC's.

    • @chapz.1
      @chapz.1 11 месяцев назад +4

      @Gabe4D I understand we need to word it differently but we all know since other drivers from different countries come and drive here for 30 cents a mile and you have 2 or 3 drivers in 1 truck and don't pay insurance they are the ones taking the cheap freight there's companies out there that pay there drivers cash and they don't have there drivers on the policy and these are the once causing the wreckes out there but yet we the owner ops are the ones that have to pay the price at the end.

    • @Gabe4D
      @Gabe4D 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@chapz.1 I agree. My mindset is simply that for change to occur the government needs to act and it wouldn't be in the economy's best interests to make these changes even though I agree it's necessary. If the general public views truckers as their modern day slaves and to improve the industry would cost the general public when they go grocery shopping, then the general public needs to be on our side and see the moral implications of it all to be on board, and only then would the government probably take the necessary steps to rectify the issues in this industry. So it is in our best interests to focus on the facts rather than to make comments that make an outsider take one look and go "oh they're racist xenophobic asswipes, they deserve to be miserable truckers. Carry on!"

    The problem is America itself. America have unfortunately became a strictly outsourcing country. That is the main reason why cost of living is so high. Plus the cost of diesel should be lowered and the price of gas should be raised to offset one another. It would also help if the industry can configure a way to get rid of brokerage all together. And as far as companies trying figure a way to make autonomous trucks i honestly can not blame them because they are trying to keep up with demand because of the state that America is in at the same time being profitable. All because the us dollar doesn't circulate in this country. So we should be upset at our political officials not trucking companies.

    The sad thing is we do not realize that we are funding the process by hauling cheap freight and driving for mega carriers. Every time we turn our wheels operating at a deficit, they generate profit which they allocate a certain percentage of (pre tax investment) toward autonomous replacements. If we only had common sense enough to stop the wheels from turning long enough to reallocate the profit. It has to be a shitty feeling going to work everyday knowing you are funding your replacement. Eliminate the excuses, intent is enough for me to take action.

    Most of them just like to talk now and not work so that’s why they aren’t trucking but just talking. A truck is a wheel barrel so if some John Doe puts a reverse mirror on his wheel barrel and pushes it off the ramp saying I’m watching it makes all the sense to me to know where to call BS. Someone still has to watch the product if you want to stay in business and people need to eat and be humane so we go out to feed America. Could you Imagine what the Cafeteria would look like with out the lunch lady. Vending Machines are almost never used in places where you think they would be used. I would love to drive hands free but even the light rail needs a conductor. What you could do is put your stuff on a plane and improve auto piloting.

Yall should use this channel to get people organized but unfortunately it's not used for that so it is what it is I'm thankful my equipment is paid off so I can just walk away from it I know everyone isn't there yet but the only way you get people attention is to hit people in there wallet which means strike don't wait til the industry doesn't need you anymore before you do something

    Eliminate the driver? Maybe, over time in a few select applications. But think this . Who will be the new corporate customers be if every job possible will be eliminated by AI? (My employee is your customer - no jobs no spending money. Saving money is good but if there's no jobs to afford a new car?) If the law of unintended consequence applies here we all go on a basic income . Then where you are in life is where you are. No extra overtime for a new boat. No cabin. No toys in the garage. Picking a random number out of my azz.. $750 week per person . Nation wide. We become directionless drones. No opportunities no purpose etc. Life becomes like one big native American reservation. It's a" brave new world" we live in where not all progress is good progress.

    I really don't see anything wrong with pointing out trucking abuse. low wages. unpaid retention pay, no parking, inflation. Freight brokers having a grip and monopoly on common freight. Mill schools unable to teach drivers basics down shifting going down hill. Quality of new entrants are either deaf, cant speak English and sometimes what seems lack any common sense with no courtesy. The steering wheel holder dilemma. What is come of it where will it go. Get specialized! Get specialized! Get specialized! Has been the only logical answer. With a twist of irony. Were all just walking in circles around this huge pile of manure and pointing our finger at it and covering up our nose. I might think its a nightmare others say its only a bad dream everything dandy.

    Ahh come on, you could never have a self driving truck, and anybody who thinks so is too simple minded to know better. What if there's an accident and the police are directing traffic. What if there's an exit that's closed. What if it has to change lanes in a construction zone. What if there's rain or fog and the cameras can't see, or a flying stone breaks a lens. I could name a dozen more reasons why a self driving truck could never work. You cannot build a machine that replaces a human. It's impossible
