I'm definitely a fan of the "let's fly" format. I think it's awesome. These are so much fun to watch and just chill listening to while I'm building my own birds. There's no need with real TV when there's FliteTest and a couple other channels I enjoy.
Lets flys would be awesome, I don't actually fly RCs (although I would like to) I just watch this show because i love watching you guys flying. I would love to see more like this, formation flying, games, anything ;) Keep it up guys
I just built my versa last night. I spent 7 hours of my Sunday working on it. It was fun. I wish the versa pusher conversion video would of covered placing the receiver on the plane though.
Now that i've caught up, these episodes can't come fast enough! Thanks heaps for doing all that you do, you've got me back into the hobby along with my work buddy and my son is now getting interested too! TOP effort and many many thanks!
Well i (someone with 0.00 experience) now own a Blade Nano Quad copter thanks to all these videos. i have hit everything in my apartment including the ground ... hard. and the lil bugger just keeps going im in love. Thanks FliteTest
Awesome flying guys! Really like the new program style. The field test first with build at the end makes perfect sense. Great work and thanks for what you teach us.
Another great episode guys! I like the "Let's Fly" concept. This reminds me of the Bat Bones episode, one of my favorites. I find myself watching these fpv proximity flying episodes over and over. Very enjoyable to watch when I can't get out and fly myself! Keep 'em coming!
Yay for Instagram. I'll look you up. I like the format of this episode. Very natural and relaxed. Even the funny bit of showing David holding the mic boom.
Great video and love the format! The Versa was the first plane I built from scratch. I have several bought planes but the Versa simply puts a smile on my face every time I fly it. I am simply amazed that something I built actually files and flies well! Now I am going to have to build a Blunt Nose Versa! I made a battery tray on my Versa but I have never liked it. This looks like the perfect solution!
Awesome idea!! Thanks for sharing the modification! Personally, I would have liked to see the build video as a separate video. Love the FPV part! Fun! Thanks for being awesome!
That was some great footage. The two reconnaissance air planes (looked like that to me) flying tight and the trike trailing behind taking the movie. The shadows just added to the great movie. I have to watch it again! I have to make a blunt nose this spring.
I am definitely building this one, since my versa had a major crash 2 weeks ago. I was waiting for this! Great episode and fpv session. I may do my blunt nose versa with removable wings, and if I do so, it will be my first article for FT. Thanks guys! And as as suggestion, try to mount a brushless gimbal with a camera on the Versa upside down and see some magic :-D. Bet you didn't think of this:-P
trust me, you don't want this to be on tv. do you want to have a 24 episode season, then wait a year for it to come back? do you want them to have 6 month episode turnarounds instead of one-week turnarounds? do you want josh b replaced because his jaw isn't chiseled enough? trust me, youtube is better. and FREEEEEEEEEEEEE!
***** Yeah I totally agree. This is the future, going to TV is like going backwards haha. One thing I love about Flitetest is it is relatable. I think it would loose this quality if it went to TV. Also I think it would loose the personal feel to it - We all feel part of a community watching it here.
Thanks for the new formats you flitetest guys are trying out. Joe Dockstader and don't forget there would be people trying to convince you to buy stuff you don't need every 8 mins or so. Advertising has it's place, don't get me wrong, but there doesn't need to be anything like as much as there is in this world.
No regular tv show. Maybe a one time special to get people (both RC enthusiast and those new to the hobby) that don't go on youtube to see a show they might love and lead to more Flite Test fans. But other than that, No TV.
Please please please! Do more of this, I could watch 20 minutes or how ever long you could stay in the air. I would like to see three different types of aircraft, maybe do some races or one person do some loops while other ones record it. The more people in the air the better also! Really enjoyed this please make more. I have never flown FPV so watching this gives me the next best thing.
Another great vid guys. Enjoyed the new format good job. Oh and tell Chad that he did a great job on the "Make" magazine piece. Even got my girlfriend to check it out! She is now officially interested in RC/FPV. Thanks!
Hey guys, I love your videos, especially the challenges, but I can never find all of them in the same place, so I have a suggestion. What if you made sections or playlists of the specific things you do? that way everyone could find exactly what they want right away. just a thought, keep making these great videos!
So David and Alex dress like its summer and Josh dresses like he is going on a mid winter walk. I'm so confused because I thought you guys were in Ohio! I'm not too far north of you and its freezing! Great video although it gave me the chills looking at David and Alex! BRRR...
Great format guys! I really like the feel of the first half. I wouldn't want half the video to be a build video though. Maybe if you want to spotlight a mod or something, have a condensed outline or highlight of the build process and make a separate build video. So as not to distract from the fun and friendliness of the lets fly format.
Hey David! I thought you were Sweden bound? Pleased to see you still on the show and providing still breathtaking multicopter inflight footage. I will shed a tear for you in my beer when you finally depart.
Great job guys, nice flight footage. Just finished my Versa And maidened it couple weeks ago. Will have to do another one like this. I echo the comment on David's goggles, what has he done now?! Keep up the good stuff. Be blessed.
Unless you have a VERY sharp razor blade, those 45 degree bevel cuts are quite difficult to make. I used a brand new x-acto blade and it still wanted to chip and tear. Sandpaper is probably a better option.
Hey guys I love the new format it makes sense you guys sure have a great time wish i could join your team working on a 150% blunt nose versa wing for fpv with go pro 3 powerd by power 15 size suppo 40 amp grayson hobby speedo and 5000mah 3s powering the motor and the fpv transmitter hope to finish it by the time it warms up here in Illinois Anyways you guys are great !!!!
I see it now! Had to go back and pause at the shot of David, Alex, and Josh and look at David's goggles. He has taken a pair of Cinemizer OLED glasses and put them in a pair of ski goggles. Must be a Clemson fan too with that color. Won't be building those anytime soon, too pricey for me.
This is a long one firs I would like to see the blunt kraken, 2nd drear job you guys are getting me more involved in the hobby. 3rd where's David's tri frame on the store, 4th how do u make that space taxi from the 80's thing on his tri I really wand that frame with the space taxi add on!!
How does this affect flight characteristics? I don't fly fpv but I just maidened my versa the other day and loved it and am curious if this improves or changes the way they plane flies, thanks!
You really should try installing some OrangeRX RX3S flashed with Open Flight Stabilizer. This will change your bumpy flights into on-rails ones. Its insane how much difference the opensource firmware does on the rx3s line of gyros. And at their price point there's just no reason not to have one on the plane/wing. As it makes flying in wind several times more enjoyable.
What's with David's accent in this video, he sometimes sounds like a country boy. Could it be his 80's space taxi vibe or maybee he hung out with some farm boys for too long XD
Buffalo FX-79! Where were you able to get one? I keep searching for places online that sell it, that aren't some obscure site that charge as much for shipping as the plane cost and takes months to deliver (exaggeration of course, but not by much in some cases), but haven't been able to find one.
I like the Let's Fly format. Keep up the great work guys!
Me too!
Me too!
I'm definitely a fan of the "let's fly" format. I think it's awesome. These are so much fun to watch and just chill listening to while I'm building my own birds. There's no need with real TV when there's FliteTest and a couple other channels I enjoy.
Big fan of the "Let's Fly" format. Please keep it up, guys!
Lets flys would be awesome, I don't actually fly RCs (although I would like to) I just watch this show because i love watching you guys flying. I would love to see more like this, formation flying, games, anything ;) Keep it up guys
+1
Best part ohhhhh static. Even a tree with no leaves will take out 5.8. Haha. Great flying gents.
I just built my versa last night. I spent 7 hours of my Sunday working on it. It was fun. I wish the versa pusher conversion video would of covered placing the receiver on the plane though.

The "Lets Fly" idea is awesome. Great fun!

This looks like SO much fun! :) I like this new format too. Great job guys!
Timing for this is excellent, I just printed off the Versawing and plan to build it as an FPV plane. Just added the Blunt nose. Thanks very much!
Yay for Instagram. I'll look you up. I like the format of this episode. Very natural and relaxed. Even the funny bit of showing David holding the mic boom.
i like the new format, it's fun to watch and listen to you guys communicate whilst in FPV
I definitely like having a demonstration of the aircraft before the detailed look into the build process.
Love this episode. I bought the speed build kit for our club and my store. I will promote this versa wing...with excitement for our area RC modelers.
Awesome video! I love this format...longer video but more complete, like a mini workshop. Way to go guys!!
"Hey, Guys, can I follow you with my tri-copter?"
When David Windestal asks that question, the answer is ALWAYS, "Yes!" : )
Good way to start it sparks interest to watch the build. Nice drop ins on the road too!
Love the format! Would like to see more that follows this style. :)
Assuming they're relatively inexpensive to produce, the Let's Fly format seems like a great addition! :)
David, you are the best FPV multi pilot ever!
David, we are going to miss you. I just put a Pixhawk on your tricopter design. Smooth as silk. Thank you David and 3DR.
This was a great format! Nice and informal and informational as well as entertaining! If this doesn't make you want to fly FPV I don't know what will!
This is an awesome modification to an already great plane. Looks like I'll be building another versa at some point!
Love this Guys! i have lots of versa wings but now looks like im gonna build another!
Awesome format! I loved this. And that blunversa looks fantastic!
I really like the let's fly format, looking forward to seeing more in the future! Keep up the great work guys!
Format is Great! As is the Hex in the background!
I am definitely building this one, since my versa had a major crash 2 weeks ago. I was waiting for this! Great episode and fpv session. This was a lot of fun to watch. Very nice job cutting all that video together.
Just built it with 2830/1300kv motor. Cruises smooth with a 4000mah lipo or 2200 and fpv gear. Love this plane
Very strait forward video and i like the new format. There NEVER has been a video that i watched half way through, you keep it interesting. Thumbs up!
Wish this would turn into a TV show! so Entertaining!! .:)
trust me, you don't want this to be on tv. do you want to have a 24 episode season, then wait a year for it to come back? do you want them to have 6 month episode turnarounds instead of one-week turnarounds? do you want josh b replaced because his jaw isn't chiseled enough? trust me, youtube is better. and FREEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Joe Dockstader YOU ARE RIGHT!! NO TV SHOW!!!! LOL

But other than that, No TV.
THis is officially one of my favourite videos from you guys.
Great job.
Awesome video guys... Alex is a great addition to the onscreen talent :)
WOW, I love this one ! ! !
Right after I build that "Y" Tri-copter and the "X" Quad-copter.
Love it! I will be getting the speed build kit to go along side with my original versa. Great job guys!
Love the format!!! Maybe a little more info (min or so) on the plans, site, and general info. Love the show, waiting for the kraken!!!
i can't say it enough, please make more of these, this is the best!
Another great vid guys. Enjoyed the new format good job. Oh and tell Chad that he did a great job on the "Make" magazine piece. Even got my girlfriend to check it out! She is now officially interested in RC/FPV. Thanks!
Man, Davids tricopter flies so well and its fast too!
We need a build video of that thing.
Hey guys, I love your videos, especially the challenges, but I can never find all of them in the same place, so I have a suggestion. What if you made sections or playlists of the specific things you do? that way everyone could find exactly what they want right away. just a thought, keep making these great videos!
We have been asking for videos like this forever guys! Make sure you hit the like button.
So David and Alex dress like its summer and Josh dresses like he is going on a mid winter walk. I'm so confused because I thought you guys were in Ohio! I'm not too far north of you and its freezing! Great video although it gave me the chills looking at David and Alex! BRRR...
Amazing video, you guys really do the best to get people to RC flying !
Great format guys! I really like the feel of the first half. I wouldn't want half the video to be a build video though. Maybe if you want to spotlight a mod or something, have a condensed outline or highlight of the build process and make a separate build video. So as not to distract from the fun and friendliness of the lets fly format.
I also would love to know what glue gun is used. That thing is amazing.
Life complete, thanks for the shout out!!!
I like the lets fly format a lot! Please do more challenges though! Keep up the great work
Digging the new format. You should do more like this in the future.
Hey David! I thought you were Sweden bound? Pleased to see you still on the show and providing still breathtaking multicopter inflight footage. I will shed a tear for you in my beer when you finally depart.
I was just about to build a versa. Glad I waited a day. Love it. Thank you guys. Great flying. How did you guys all fly fpv at the same time?
Great job guys, nice flight footage. Just finished my Versa And maidened it couple weeks ago. Will have to do another one like this. I echo the comment on David's goggles, what has he done now?! Keep up the good stuff. Be blessed.
Great video again guys, and as always, very informative.
really like the format. And you guys should keep up the great work!
Love the Let's Fly. Would like to see more!
Unless you have a VERY sharp razor blade, those 45 degree bevel cuts are quite difficult to make. I used a brand new x-acto blade and it still wanted to chip and tear. Sandpaper is probably a better option.
+Nick Joslin agreed
+Nick Joslin use the long boxcutter, at a steep angle, with a gentle sawing motion, and it's pretty easy.
Hey guys I love the new format it makes sense
you guys sure have a great time wish i could join your team
working on a 150% blunt nose versa wing for fpv with go pro 3
powerd by power 15 size suppo 40 amp grayson hobby speedo and 5000mah 3s powering the motor and the fpv transmitter
hope to finish it by the time it warms up here in Illinois
Anyways you guys are great !!!!
This is a great format! Make more Lets Flys! :)
This was really fun to watch!
You guys should fly more proximity.... Maybe do an episode about it? Btw, I like this new format with the (sort of) review then build. Nice job!
Great format. Keep up the great work!!!
Like this video's setup. Keep doing Let's fly episodes.
You guys should make some Star Wars aircraft.
Another awesome video! By the way, it would be great if you could review the Parkzone P-51D Mustang BL. You guys rock!
Cool plane! And great video.
Like that format allot of the FPV group flying.
I really like this, "lets fly concept" more please!
glad to see spring is coming there! oposite here ( southern hemisphere) great video!
What a bout a swappable FT trainer? I know
Would it be possible to exaggerate that design to look like a TIE fighter?
I am loving this lets fly business! Keep it up!
You guys need to get to the TV. For all the work you've done.
I'm definitely a fan of these "Let's Fly" videos!
Nice format. I dont see this being a big change to the usual format so I think it is just fine.
9 years later. Wing shadows are still awesome.
This is a long one firs I would like to see the blunt kraken, 2nd drear job you guys are getting me more involved in the hobby. 3rd where's David's tri frame on the store, 4th how do u make that space taxi from the 80's thing on his tri I really wand that frame with the space taxi add on!!

I NEED TO GET MY FPV UP AND GOING, NOW!!
WOW THIS WAS AMAZING, YOU NEED TO DO MORE FPV VIDS LIKE THIS
nice. please do more of these kind of videos. thanks!
yes, more "Let's Fly" please.
What glue gun you guys love to use? Some are so hot and some are never reliable. Much respect FT!
You guys are awesome! Thanks for these excellent videos!
Buffalo FX-79! Where were you able to get one? I keep searching for places online that sell it, that aren't some obscure site that charge as much for shipping as the plane cost and takes months to deliver (exaggeration of course, but not by much in some cases), but haven't been able to find one.
I like this format alot. I would love to know the costs of the parts used in the video.
Hey Josh, how about a 70mm ducted fan on this? I saw a few on other channels, but they were cludgy. I am certain FT would have an elegant solution!
nice build guys i think i will do this do you think it will hold up to high speeds
LOVE the format!
Great video guys! I miss Josh Scott :'(
I have poked around and found a TILED version of the plans. Do you have a full sized version of the plans available for the Blunt nose?
Awesome! Nice video and nice format again!!
I love this!
Good vid, as far as beginning for "Let's fly" in the first half. Keep same unrefined format, it's what we really want.
