I have gone scorched earth on activision as I have been shadow banned 11 times and have never cheated. I keep submitting tickets getting a response saying they feel bad and wish they could help but can’t so they close the ticket and I immediately reopen the ticket. I am spamming the shit of them with feedbacks and bug reports. I have buddies who have some activision employee emails and you best believe I spam the shit out of them every day. They have made a person who played call of duty since 2007 through the good and bad want nothing more than to burn them to the ground. Keep fighting the fight BT.

Activision has something in an AI patent talking about AI bots that fill multiplayer lobbies when players leave during games in progress. It makes sense that they would considering how angry people were by being dumped into a game in progress. I can’t put a link for the patent but you can google it easy enough and find the patent. In most companies, including mine, as management, we go through classes or workshops at LEAST twice a year about keeping your subordinates happy and comfortable, while fairly enforcing company policies, or they WON'T do their best work. How can we expect good releases, if the workers are so belittled, handcuffed, and mistreated? It’s not even public large corporations anymore. There’s just this trend in business right now where you treat your employees like dirt and try to make as much money as possible, and it’s effecting almost every company, even small businesses. It’s really sad.

I remember back in the PS2 days, my favorite franchise Ratchet and Clank, they had secret levels that showed the development of the game and all the concept art and videos. The dev team Insomniac, in the 2000's, were so transparent and showed how much love/care went in to making their games. Now we have greedy money hungry people in the industry and they have ruined it. I actually blame the shift in culture and the destruction of our morals and values. Each generation is getting worse and worse.

I just saw a video from an Overwatch youtuber about how Bobby Kotick and Activision were breathing down the OW devs necks all along. I think it’s safe to say it was the same exact thing for Call of Duty. The Microsoft acquisition and Kotick stepping down should be great for both games

Thank you, BT. We need more people like you talking about this stuff. We only know a fraction of what's going on behind the scenes, and even that's enough to call it inhumane. People closing their eyes on issues that have an impact on people's lives, just to get a care package or play the game early, should feel responsible and talk about this. Making more noise is the only way to make a change in this situation.
It all depends on which developer group brings in the most cash. Treyarch brought in the dough for a long time, but their games got stale to the public. Then MW2019 and Warzone dropped, and Infinity Ward became the bread winner. Thus, giving them the favoritism with Activision. Hopefully Treyarch’s next game will swing them back to Activision’s/Microsoft’s favor.

Disagree heavily. Their games didn't get stale at all. Every game that they have put out have been awesome except for Cold War. The only reason Cold War got shit were the things they couldn't control like SBMM, and disbanding lobbies. Everything else was great. The art style, music, and gameplay were amazing. All it needed was for the lobbies to stay together, sbmm gone or toned way down, and a proper prestige system.

Good on you for helping to shine a little more light on this situation. I think we're all fairly familiar with Activision/Blizzard's history of workplace harassment, and the toxic "crunch culture" that permeates the gaming industry at large, but these issues really do seem to go a lot deeper and darker than we realize. I truly do hope the devs can find some legal avenue to pursue against Activision, but what really needs to happen is gamers standing with them and making their voice heard with their wallets. Now more than ever, I'm truly glad I didn't waste a dime on MW3.

When Sony bought Zipper Interactive which created the SOCOM series they completely destroyed it. SOCOM was one of if not the first multiplayer shooters for Sony consoles. It was competitive like counter strike but in 3rd person. RIP 🪦 SOCOM

I enjoy ashika, vondel, urzikstan, al mazrah, but not when i'm playing in a $5,000,000 profesional tournament against the best players in the universe while also having my damage nerfed, aim assists nerfed, health nerfed, and increased fog. They still make decent games even while under pressure but its completely negated by sbmm and eomm.

BT thank you for acknowledging the devs and their plight. I'm a dev but not in gaming world and it is the same crap with us. Not with the culture that is at Activision, but the push for quicker deadlines that are insane and they do burn you out. From experience if you push for quicker deadlines, quality suffers and we have seen this with recent releases. Quality is what keeps the customers (we), coming back for more. I think IW devs will thinking the same as the devs in other studios, but could be under strict guidelines from the studio on talking about anything. To force Activision to drastically change, we need to hit them where it hurts, their bottom line. (not buying new releases, stuff from the store and battlepass). So again thank you BT for saying what you said for my dev brothers and sisters.

It's sad how back then, infinity wars basically stood on equal ground with treyarch as a great development studio for call of duty. The first step to making Call of Duty better, as well as working conditions, is to abandon the yearly release cycle. COD 2024 is the perfect game to start that with, since most people prefer Treyarch COD's anyways. And hopefully, allegedly, Treyarch has gotten a proper dev cycle for that game, however I also wouldn't be shocked if they didn't considering they had to help with Vanguard, MWII, and MWIII's development in some way, shape, or form.

I truly think its activion just making these devs implement gambling/ fomo like systems to sell more skins rather than work on the game. to touch on your vids from the other day about gambling. once you mention about how the look of the casino is also a key role and making you spend money it made me think on how you buy things in the item shop and how everything looks. a bunch of flashing lights and sound effects to get you hyped and then also have deals sprung on to your screen everytime you load the game or leave a game every so often. Iv notice this sense cold war witch is the last game I have played but yea I never knew the words till that video and i think these shady pract is not okay slightest. even more so knowing how wide the player base is when it comes to age. At this point I have to wonder WHY iw is the only studio that has favour with Activision. Does someone within iw have some kind of personal/family relationship with someone within the company? Why else would they be the only studio with any creative freedom and even the ability to influence the work of other studios during what’s supposed to be their game cycle?
I understand disliking a lot of COD games these days, but calling MW2019 worse than all of those is officially the dumbest and worst take I’ve ever heard.
Funniest part is, is that IW is the only team that never has to back off of a project to help with another project, yet treyarch and sledge have to completely stop what they're doing just to fix all of IWs games and make sure they work and IW always got the credit. Since BO2 treyarch has consistently made better games than IW but never gets the recognition for it. The patchwork that raven has to do might as well be more their games than IW. Also this is the IW after MW3, not the team before that went on to make titanfall.

I loved 2019. They could have basically copied and pasted that with some minor improvements for mw2 and I would have been thrilled. They instead took everything that everyone liked about 2019 and got rid of it all. MW3 is better than mw2 by far but it’s still underwhelming.
Hey I have a question for you Blame truth! An actual honest question about BP guns and Store bought guns. Do you believe they may have tuning on them? I've only thought about this so hard because they left the Blue side bars explaining what the gun's tuned towards, and also the fact that when you alter a blueprint it tells you still that it will revert back to it's manufacturing settings which means "non-tuned".
If you try to change or move an attachment. And it says it will remove stock stats or whatever that warning is yes. You lose tuning from the blueprint. Even though they removed manually tuning.
mw2019 had the highest skill ceiling we've ever seen in the COD franchise. While I usually agree with you that all the recent games were bad, that was the best cod we had in years. Just say you can't adapt and don't have the skill required to play high skill ceilings. Mw2019 movement, gunplay, and engine singlehandedly made it the most skill expressive cod we've ever seen. Now it definitely had the worst maps of any cod game, and the time to kill was a little too high, but to call it a bad game? A bad take.

You know, Watching this black ops 2 gameplay shows how fun af cod used to be. A proper online arcade shooter compared to the absolute borefest we get nowadays. You know what modern day Infinity Ward reminds me of? Angelica in that one episode of Rugrats where she had that toy that made her sound like her mom. Causing so many problems for the people around her and just using her "adult" voice to boss people around and do her bidding. Infinity Ward is just using the voice of their older self to boss around Raven, Sledgehammer, and Treyarch. I'm hoping that they get what they deserve, but it's real life and not a damn cartoon. i play mw3 with a crossbow and throwing knife mainly, the amount of times i see my bolt not hit when i know it should have hit gets me so mad lol i dont mind when i die when i know i should have or i legit didnt hit my shot but the amount of times i die from my bolt or throwing knife going off on my screen but on the kill cam i didnt shoot or throw anything is crazy! i feel like i get nerfed mid game 90% of the time and i never believed it was happening til u started pointing so much shit out. ur the man BT! the amount of digging u do is crazy!

I've gotten to the point with MW3 to be exactly where I left off when I quit MW2. I can only play 3-5 matches before I get sick and tired of having to sweat my a** off every game because it's like I'm playing in a professional tournament. Creative freedom is not "carte blanche". All creatives work within certain parameters. The issue is when your environment no longer allows you to exercise any sort of creativity, at that point you are no longer an artist and now simply a typist. It is a dual edged sword though, as far too many artists expect creative freedom in a corporate environment, that will never materialize, it is more a case of exercising some creativity within limitations. Maybe acti dont want creatives but typists instead.
I respect what you do. Do I agree with everything you say? No. But I’d rather support someone who’s honest and open about their work than someone who constantly fluffs things and ignores issues
The thing is there obviously is some talent in these dev teams, when it comes to things like this the problem is almost always management and design. It's the decision makers who direct the programmers. I think it's easy to forget, but activision blizzard is a publisher, all they do is marketing, and yey they control everything from the top down. They are essentially the salesmen for the programmers and creatives, but they dictate everything that goes on. Rather than allowing the people who are genuinely passionate about their job and gaming in general to make these decisons , activision decide that they know better because they have lifeless market research and stats. This is why since bo2 they have been chasing fads, rather than innovating. You can't innovate if all you do is react to market research on mechanics that already exist. You can't innovate when your only goal is to chase the newest trend that you see in your data. Of course this is all speculation, but it's all we're going to get. And I don't think the devs are blameless, somebody has to say something at some point, but I guess those people never make it to positions of power in the company. This is the problem when publishers *own* dev teams and arent just working with them. The publishers usually get full creative control over the people who actually know what they're doing. You see this with EA, Ubisoft, Activision and every other big publisher. On a side note, never change bt. We watch you because you say exactly what everyone is thinking, but nobody has the spine to say. Most creators have a strong filter over what they think because they want to seem as innofensive as possible to not alienate anybody. This is why so much of the internet and gaming in general feels so steralized, and you are one of the few exceptions. You speak your mind, regardless of who might disagree, and regardless of what the consequences might be. Thats why we watch you.

It all depends on which developer group brings in the most cash. Treyarch brought in the dough for a long time, but their games got stale to the public. Then MW2019 and Warzone dropped, and Infinity Ward became the bread winner. Thus, giving them the favoritism with Activision. Hopefully Treyarch’s next game will swing them back to Activision’s/Microsoft’s favor.

Disagree heavily. Their games didn't get stale at all. Every game that they have put out have been awesome except for Cold War. The only reason Cold War got shit were the things they couldn't control like SBMM, and disbanding lobbies. Everything else was great. The art style, music, and gameplay were amazing. All it needed was for the lobbies to stay together, sbmm gone or toned way down, and a proper prestige system.

Good on you for helping to shine a little more light on this situation. I think we're all fairly familiar with Activision/Blizzard's history of workplace harassment, and the toxic "crunch culture" that permeates the gaming industry at large, but these issues really do seem to go a lot deeper and darker than we realize. I truly do hope the devs can find some legal avenue to pursue against Activision, but what really needs to happen is gamers standing with them and making their voice heard with their wallets. Now more than ever, I'm truly glad I didn't waste a dime on MW3.

I’ve been thinking on it. I think Microsoft bought Activision so they can own the SBMM patents. They’re going to use them in every game. Multiplayer is in a dark time.

Yeah. I hate these people who are like "Yaaaaay! Microsoft bought Activision Cod is saved!" Like okay, maybe we might be completely wrong about them and they might improve the franchise. We don't know. But this narrative that microsoft is some sort of COD messiah needs to stop. Microsoft is a corporation like Activision. They have the potential to be just as bad. Plus looking at the state of the likes of halo, I don't even trust Microsoft to make a good halo game, let alone a good COD game. Its naive and annoying.
When Sony bought Zipper Interactive which created the SOCOM series they completely destroyed it. SOCOM was one of if not the first multiplayer shooters for Sony consoles. It was competitive like counter strike but in 3rd person. RIP 🪦 SOCOM
And you know what? All of the things that they have developed are completely ruined by eomm. I enjoy ashika, vondel, urzikstan, al mazrah, but not when i'm playing in a $5,000,000 profesional tournament against the best players in the universe while also having my damage nerfed, aim assists nerfed, health nerfed, and increased fog. They still make decent games even while under pressure but its completely negated by sbmm and eomm.

BT thank you for acknowledging the devs and their plight. I'm a dev but not in gaming world and it is the same crap with us. Not with the culture that is at Activision, but the push for quicker deadlines that are insane and they do burn you out. From experience if you push for quicker deadlines, quality suffers and we have seen this with recent releases. Quality is what keeps the customers (we), coming back for more. I think IW devs will thinking the same as the devs in other studios, but could be under strict guidelines from the studio on talking about anything. To force Activision to drastically change, we need to hit them where it hurts, their bottom line. (not buying new releases, stuff from the store and battlepass). So again thank you BT for saying what you said for my dev brothers and sisters.

I’ve recently gotten back into video games with my kid now and have not played games for many many years, it did not take me long to see the differences with the games and especially the online match making! Everything is way different compared to what it used to be like!

It's sad how back then, infinity wars basically stood on equal ground with treyarch as a great development studio for call of duty. MW 2019 was amazing my third favorite cod behind Bo1 and 2.
The first step to making Call of Duty better, as well as working conditions, is to abandon the yearly release cycle. COD 2024 is the perfect game to start that with, since most people prefer Treyarch COD's anyways. And hopefully, allegedly, Treyarch has gotten a proper dev cycle for that game, however I also wouldn't be shocked if they didn't considering they had to help with Vanguard, MWII, and MWIII's development in some way, shape, or form.

Thank you for speaking about this from the devs side of things cause truthfully I do think its not there fault completely. I truly think its activion just making these devs implement gambling/ fomo like systems to sell more skins rather than work on the game. to touch on your vids from the other day about gambling. once you mention about how the look of the casino is also a key role and making you spend money it made me think on how you buy things in the item shop and how everything looks. a bunch of flashing lights and sound effects to get you hyped and then also have deals sprung on to your screen everytime you load the game or leave a game every so often. Iv notice this sense cold war witch is the last game I have played but yea I never knew the words till that video and i think these shady pract is not okay slightest. even more so knowing how wide the player base is when it comes to age. I understand disliking a lot of COD games these days, but calling MW2019 worse than all of those is officially the dumbest and worst take I’ve ever heard.

Funniest part is, is that IW is the only team that never has to back off of a project to help with another project, yet treyarch and sledge have to completely stop what they're doing just to fix all of IWs games and make sure they work and IW always got the credit. Since BO2 treyarch has consistently made better games than IW but never gets the recognition for it. The patchwork that raven has to do might as well be more their games than IW. Also this is the IW after MW3, not the team before that went on to make titanfall.

I can tolerate your longer content as I mostly agree with the topic and takes you have, and it's good ambience in the background while I play or do something. I loved 2019. They could have basically copied and pasted that with some minor improvements for mw2 and I would have been thrilled. They instead took everything that everyone liked about 2019 and got rid of it all. MW3 is better than mw2 by far but it’s still underwhelming.

Hey I have a question for you Blame truth! An actual honest question about BP guns and Store bought guns. Do you believe they may have tuning on them? I've only thought about this so hard because they left the Blue side bars explaining what the gun's tuned towards, and also the fact that when you alter a blueprint it tells you still that it will revert back to it's manufacturing settings which means "non-tuned".
If you try to change or move an attachment. And it says it will remove stock stats or whatever that warning is yes. You lose tuning from the blueprint. Even though they removed manually tuning.
mw2019 had the highest skill ceiling we've ever seen in the COD franchise. While I usually agree with you that all the recent games were bad, that was the best cod we had in years. Just say you can't adapt and don't have the skill required to play high skill ceilings. Mw2019 movement, gunplay, and engine singlehandedly made it the most skill expressive cod we've ever seen. Now it definitely had the worst maps of any cod game, and the time to kill was a little too high, but to call it a bad game? A bad take.

You know what modern day Infinity Ward reminds me of?
Angelica in that one episode of Rugrats where she had that toy that made her sound like her mom. Causing so many problems for the people around her and just using her "adult" voice to boss people around and do her bidding.
Infinity Ward is just using the voice of their older self to boss around Raven, Sledgehammer, and Treyarch. I'm hoping that they get what they deserve, but it's real life and not a damn cartoon. Unfortunately Sledgehammer just gets the shit end of the stick because Infinity Ward and Activision have shot Raven, Sledgehammer, and Treyarch (dare I say, Treyarch's been nearly consistently kneecapping Treyarch since they started at CoD games).
Treyarch has made the last 4 or 5 best selling, most successful games, so I think they have more power and say so then Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward is like that jealous middle sibling, always crying that they don't get enough attention, so they pick on Sledgehammer,the youngest, because Treyarch picks on them.

I've gotten to the point with MW3 to be exactly where I left off when I quit MW2. I can only play 3-5 matches before I get sick and tired of having to sweat my a** off every game because it's like I'm playing in a professional tournament.

Creative freedom is not "carte blanche". All creatives work within certain parameters. The issue is when your environment no longer allows you to exercise any sort of creativity, at that point you are no longer an artist and now simply a typist. It is a dual edged sword though, as far too many artists expect creative freedom in a corporate environment, that will never materialize, it is more a case of exercising some creativity within limitations. Maybe acti dont want creatives but typists instead.
I respect what you do. Do I agree with everything you say? No. But I’d rather support someone who’s honest and open about their work than someone who constantly fluffs things and ignores issues

The thing is there obviously is some talent in these dev teams, when it comes to things like this the problem is almost always management and design. It's the decision makers who direct the programmers. I think it's easy to forget, but activision blizzard is a publisher, all they do is marketing, and yey they control everything from the top down. They are essentially the salesmen for the programmers and creatives, but they dictate everything that goes on. Rather than allowing the people who are genuinely passionate about their job and gaming in general to make these decisons , activision decide that they know better because they have lifeless market research and stats. This is why since bo2 they have been chasing fads, rather than innovating. You can't innovate if all you do is react to market research on mechanics that already exist. You can't innovate when your only goal is to chase the newest trend that you see in your data.
Of course this is all speculation, but it's all we're going to get. And I don't think the devs are blameless, somebody has to say something at some point, but I guess those people never make it to positions of power in the company. This is the problem when publishers *own* dev teams and arent just working with them. The publishers usually get full creative control over the people who actually know what they're doing. You see this with EA, Ubisoft, Activision and every other big publisher.
On a side note, never change bt. We watch you because you say exactly what everyone is thinking, but nobody has the spine to say. Most creators have a strong filter over what they think because they want to seem as innofensive as possible to not alienate anybody. This is why so much of the internet and gaming in general feels so steralized, and you are one of the few exceptions. You speak your mind, regardless of who might disagree, and regardless of what the consequences might be. Thats why we watch you.
