I moved to Cleveland 3 years ago and quickly learned that Browns fans are absolutely that Captain America meme "I can do this all day". Resilient, diehard fans and I absolutely love cheering on the Browns beside them.
Cleveland holds a special place in my heart. My mom was a die hard Browns fan and was devastated when they left. She had to pick a new team and she chose the Packers because they'd never leave Green Bay. I was raised a Packers fan, by a Browns fan.
It's so weird how common this pattern is for Browns fans. I grew up in the 90s and became aware of football *after* the Browns had left - I had no memory they ever existed. So I decided to support the Packers, and it helped that they had Favre, and now I have two teams I support every season.
I find the fans love of their teams so inspiring! Green Bay exploiting the rules to keep their team. Cleveland making such a fuss that their team got reinstated and probably can never leave. It's so amazing!
My dad is from Cleveland and a die hard browns fan. we still have pictures from when i was born in the 90's with no team with all of us in cheese heads on! always viewed the packers as my second team.

Tom you need to be on a national network. Your ability to show, people are just people no matter were you go is beauty to behold. And a self evident truth that I fear we sometimes lose sight of in America.
Each one of these videos on your 30-in-30 endeavor has made me realize we are one, no matter what team you root for. And, Tom, you are an amazing person for doing this for a great cause.
It's been quite the recovery for the city of Cleveland, Ohio ever since the Browns came back in 1999. The fanbase wanted the team back in a ferocious way, and I'm glad they were successful on that. The helmet/logo change in 2015 has been one of my favorites across all 4 major NA sports. Under the correct circumstances, I would consider them to be my 2nd favorite team; I feel obligated to choose one from the opposite conference of the Packers. Secondly, monster truck events really do have a wow factor. Third, Drew Carey really did have the best possible song for his TV show because it's true: Cleveland Rocks! I give you another 👍 for 30 in 30 #5, Tom. The fan meetups are magnificent for the sheer amount of humbleness and gratitude.
$20 says Zadarius Smith was driving one of the monster trucks. “I’m so happy to be a Cleveland Brown”, he says as he triumphantly crushes vehicle after vehicle
Not sure how much of your kind words about Cleveland were your true opinion or just kind words, but it was really nice and we all thank you. It's not at the top of anyone's list of places to visit but it's certainly not as bad as people think and I'm sure many other cities like ours will be happy to hear you set the record straight when you experience them. What you're doing is incredible in more ways than one. Hope you enjoyed being somewhere that doesn't hate the Packers. Tell Perna we might not be quite as nice if he ever visits (but we'd still love to have him). Go Browns!
For people that don't know the stereotype about Cleveland having nothing to do is from people that go to Cleveland in the winter or when it's extremely cold if you go when you went. Tom, you'll get a ton to do because we are a summer state that once we can finally go outside, a lot more happens and the fall. There's a ton of festivals all around Ohio but if you go October- March you're going to get frozen weather that nobody wants to be outside with
Every time I’ve been to Ohio (granted, it was the Columbus area) it was in warm weather times, and the place was lively as hell - looking forward to seeing more of it
@@uhhhmaeve Columbus might be my most favorite city in Ohio, being born and raised in northwest Ohio. It's just a fantastic place. And yeah the winter weather suuuuuucks. When my parents moved to Arizona, the real estate agent tried to describe the summer like this: "You know how, in Ohio during the winter, you move from place to place for heating? It's like that but air conditioning in the summer." lol
Remember that Detroit and Cleveland were the teams of the 50s. Each team brought home 3 titles. Oh, how times have changed. I'm not a Browns fan but good luck to the Dawgs in 2023!
I'm glad you got enjoy your time in the city. Cleveland does get a bad rap, but like you said, the people of the city make it great. Thank you for saying nice things about my city. Everyone talks crap on it all the time, but we know it’s the perfect place to raise a family with a lot of stuff to do. Go to Cedar Point if you’re ever back again! It’s about an hour west of Cleveland in Sandusky. A very touristy town.
You're doing a great thing and getting so much in return! So unexpected, you're doing to help poeple with nothing in return, but the memories, people, and love, is something we and you will never forget.
One of my favorite things about this series is how Tom and the GrossiPosse team are beautifully highlighting all the positive aspects of each city they're visiting. Even the ones that kick his ass. Really well done. Make sure you stay hydrated, Tom!
I hope someone mentioned the Art Model Law, which was adopted by the state after the Browns relocation, that states that any sports team that receives public funding or operates on public land must be legitimately offered to local buyers first (and also have a 6th month lead time) to prevent the team from moving. The law was actually cited during the columbus crew 2017 relocation controversy and can be considered why the crew didn't move to austin, texas.

The Browns have always had my respect for when they supported my family all those years ago when my grandmother was sick. They donated money to get my family care all those years ago. And ever since they have always had my respect. I will never hate the browns and never hate their City full of great people. My mom came from the states and it was my mom's side of the family who had support from the browns. Much love from Canada

That very tall building with the key on top? I used to work on the 23rd floor. Hubby & the kids would come the day after Thanksgiving (I always chose to work that day), and we'd watch the lighting of Public Square. We love our veterans in Cleveland. God Bless them. I miss my city. The massive publicity and outcry when 'he who shall not be named' moved our beloved team cannot be understated. I still have the Sports Illustrated magazine that emphasized the movement.
Woah...Cleveland is a very tidy city. All the myths about Cleveland went out of the wind in Tom's 8 minutes video.
Detroit too.
yeah Cleveland is really nice. They have made some really good improvements
Yeah, I was there just 2 months ago to visit the NFL Hall Of Fame, and we stayed in Cleveland a few nights. It was very clean and nice
Yep. Everyone still thinks of Cleveland as how it was in the 70s. It really has cleaned up and improved the past 20 - 30 years
Statistically tho Cleveland has been losing population over the past couple decades
I've never thought Cleveland would be a place I wanted to visit. But it looks like a great place.
If you go go during the summer months, October to April are cold and the events slow down untill you go to the museums or a browns game
Better coming in during the summer/early autumn months. It gets really ugly for the winter.
A lot of Midwest cities are great and underrated.
Cleveland, KC, Twin Cities, Detroit
Cleveland: Now slightly better than Not Detroit!
